Can I treat 100° fever with meds?

I am Manish, 20 years old. I have high fever (100°) and mild headache since yesterday. Please recommend some medications.

Answered on 25th Sept '24

A mild headache and a high fever of 100°F can indicate a cold or the flu, which are caused by viruses. I suggest you take acetaminophen to reduce the fever and the headache. Furthermore, it is important not only to rest but also to drink sufficient amounts of fluids and eat light and nutritious foods. Keep in mind that if your conditions worsen, visit a doctor.

I got into a car crash back in April 2022 when I was 17. I took my eyes off the road. I was fiddling with the car radio, my head was turned towards the right and I crash the passenger side of my car into a telephone pole and all the airbags deployed. I didn’t get any facial or body injuries. I got diagnosed with bilateral tinnitus from an ENT doctor but they didn’t find any damage when they did a physical examination. I did a hearing test and I have a little bit of hearing loss. Based on my hearing test is my tinnitus permanent or temporary?

Male | 19

As an expert in the medical field, I suggest that you should see an audiologist for further examination of your tinnitus. Tinnitus could result from diverse origins for example hearing loss, eardrum inflammation, head or neck injuries, and use of certain drugs. The specialist can give the correct diagnosis and treatment alternatives specific to your case. It is advisable to seeking a healthcare professional immediacy to avoid extendes complications.

A.o.A...my mother of 85, completely on bed she is a diabetic. Today she is sweating slightly.

Female | 85

Excessive sweating might signal her blood sugar is dipping low. That's common for folks with diabetes. Give her something sugary - a candy or juice should do the trick. Also, check those glucose readings. Staying hydrated helps too. But if the sweating persists or odd symptoms come up, don't hesitate to loop in her doctor for advice.

Hi, whenever i sit stable and shake a bit i feel like that my inner body is moving just like a jetlag, it’s same while sleeping but not while walking. What would be the problem?

Male | 26

This dizziness, called vertigo, often stems from inner ear issues. Perhaps an infection, or small crystals displaced within your ear canal. Specific head motions can trigger these sensations. It's crucial to consult a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

i was 100 days ago walking on the road when i saw a drop from somewhere above. i didn't notice it at the time but i thought that if that drop was the saliva of a rabid dog

Male | 17

If an infected animal drooled into your eye, you may have contracted rabies; however, the chances are slim. Common indicators include high temperatures and general discomfort such as headaches. To be safe, rinse your eye thoroughly for a few minutes with water and get in touch with a medical professional immediately.

I am suffering from fever for 6 days which medicine should I take.

Male | 42

It is necessary to identify the underlying cause of the fever. Fevers are a clear indication of your body fighting an infection. Frequent causes of it are a cold, flu, or, in rare cases, a disease caused by a bacterium. To help relieve fever take acetaminophen or ibuprofen just make sure that you have an adult who is supervising you. Never forget to drink lots of fluids and sleep. If your fever does not go away or you start experiencing other new symptoms, seek medical help.

Female | 32

Weakness, headache, body aches and loss of appetite have been long associated with many diseases. Easily self-medicating your condition may get worse. A general practitioner or physician would be the most suitable person to consult because they will take your symptoms and determine the cause so they can recommend the best course of treatment for you.

hello, this isn’t for me but for my friend instead. he’s been having a bad sore throat recently. he’s been given antihistamine which helped relieve it temporarily. he’s also been taking honey lemon water to hydrate and lubricate his throat. however even after taking apprx 7 litres of liquid intake today his throat feels very very dry. for the past two hours he has been feeling very been feeling and having a very bad headache, feels that either his blood pressure or sugar level is acting up, had an episode of nosebleed for a minute and had been coughing up blood and green mucus.

Male | 24

Your friend must be going through a troubling physiological state. Sore throat, nasal congestion, fever, headache, nosebleed, cough, and even the blood and mucus signs can indicate a particular disease. Make it an obligation to see a healthcare specialist as soon as possible. These symptoms may be due to biological complications or some causatives such as infections and high blood pressure upon which the treatment sits. A doctor should examine what is wrong with him and provide the treatment.
