Am I pregnant if home test shows positive?
I had my last period on Oct 18 and today I tested pregnancy. It shows positive.I repeated the home test thrice and result was positive . And also I did a Urine pregnancy test from a lab, the test shows weak positive. So am I pregnant?
Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 19th Nov '24
A weak positive outcome from a lab test can be due to pregnancy in the beginning. Missed periods, nausea, tiredness, and breast soreness are the common symptoms of pregnancy. Schedule a prenatal check-up with a gynecologist for confirmation of the pregnancy and to start your common healthcare measures is most important.

Pregnant with diarrhea headache stomach pain and pelvic pain
Female | 23
You're dealing with tough symptoms - diarrhea, headaches, stomach aches, and pelvic pain. It's normal to have diarrhea from diet changes or infections during pregnancy. Headaches happen due to stress or hormone shifting. The growing baby may cause some stomach discomfort, but severe pain could mean something serious. Your body changing leads to pelvic pain. Stay hydrated. Eat gentle foods. Rest up. Use warm packs for pain relief. But if symptoms worsen, contact your gynecologist.

Hi. My partner is male and I am female. He recently disclosed that he was diagnosed with herpes many years ago but has never had an outbreak since. So I have allowed us to have unprotected sex. Am I able to contract it even though he’s been dormant for years ?
Female | 28
Infections can be transmitted through sexual contact, even without visible outbreaks. Even if your partner may not have had symptoms for years, the virus can still shed and pose a transmission risk. Please consult a good medical facility and a gynecologist for proper evaluation.

After one day of period spotting i started ro bleed normal ...why did it happen
Female | 20
A lot of times when you have your period and notice blood it could be because changes are going on with hormones. The cycle for menstruation comes with hormone levels which might cause variations in the volume of blood one sees. Stress is one thing that can affect this in addition to medications as well as weight change among others. Therefore if it repeats itself or if there is anything else worrying you should talk to the gynecologist to be advised further.

If patient is on tab itraconazole 200mg od ,if she accidentally become pregnant while taking that tab ,what is the risk to fetus, weather she can continue pregnancy or better to terminate?
Female | 27
Pregnancy is a risk in this case. Itraconazole is categorized as C for pregnancy, which carries the risk of a fetal defect. It is crucial that the patient discuss with her obstetrician or gynecologist as well as her medication provider. In case of complicated pregnancies, a high risk pregnancy specialist should also be consulted. It is not advised to continue the mediation during pregnancy without getting medical advice.

I am on birth control. During the second week of the pack I lost it there's I started a new pack where I left off in the old pack. That would mean a an extra row would be available . When I reached the placebo week, I accidentally took one of the active pills that were left over but then acrrued on with the placebos. I'm supposed to get my period today however I haven't yet. I'm not sure what is happening
Female | 21
Missing active pills, or honing birth control can sometimes affect your cycle. It is, of course, a usual reaction to the before-mentioned delay. Occasionally, being given a few extra active pills can cause the latter. Nevertheless, continue to take your pills as instructed and your cycle will soon be in harmony with the new one. If it keeps being abnormal, you can contact your gynecologist for help.

Which medicine is safe and good to stop periods permanently
Female | 13
Using drugs, it is not safe to completely halt menstruation. The lining of your body is shed during periods, which are a natural occurrence. If you experience extremely heavy or painful periods, there are some safe ways to deal with it. Consult your gynecologist regarding birth control pills or an IUD that can make them lighter or stop altogether but not forever.

Should we skip a saheli contraceptive pills while periods or can we take it in regular pattern
Female | 27
It's best to take contraceptive pills regularly, even during periods. Maintaining proper hormone levels is crucial. Skipping can cause breakthrough bleeding or spotting. To avoid pregnancy, follow the routine of taking the pill daily. Consult your gynecologist if any concerns arise.

Post menopausal bleeding biopsy report endometrial hyperplasia without atypia MRI and TVS report NO abnormal noted No lesion seen.does it require surgery or progesterone help to get rid of it?
Female | 52
The doctor ordered this radiological test to check for any abnormalities, such as polyps or cancer, which might be causing post-menopausal bleeding. Endometrial hyperplasia, a condition where the uterine lining becomes thickened, may or may not involve atypical (abnormal) cells. If MRI and TVS reports show no pathological abnormalities, progesterone therapy may be recommended as a non-surgical treatment option.

Hi I have recently facing infection on my vagina. It comes every month before periods. I have burning sensation and itching whenever it contacted with water. My most concern is, I recently noticed that my vaginal opening is getting bigger or wider. This concerns me a lot. I do have a partner but we only have sex once a year. Apart from that, I'm not doing any kind of sexual activities. Please give me remedy and reason for this.
Female | 27
What might fit in the picture is yeast infection, which is one of the most common among women. The burning and itching are the two primary common symptoms. The feeling of your vaginal opening getting bigger or wider may be due to swelling from the infection. Antifungal creams or suppositories that you can get over the counter could be tried for this purpose. Don't forget to keep the region clean and dry, and wear cotton underwear to promote the healing process.

On 11th September me and my wife had unprotected sex and it was her 4th day of her periods. She taken i pill on next morning. So is their any chance of getting unwanted pregnancy?
Female | 25
If your wife took the emergency contraceptive pill (i-pill) within 24 hours after unprotected sex, the odds of pregnancy are very low. On the other hand, it is necessary to know that emergency contraception is not infallible. To make sure, pay attention to such symptoms as unusual bleeding or missed periods, and if any concerns arise, do a pregnancy test.

I am a young woman and I have found that for about 4 days after I have sex I have an itch within my private area that disrupts my sleep and day to day life. What can I do?
Female | 16
You might have a yeast infection. This can happen to women after having sex because of changes in the pH balance of the vagina. Itching and discomfort are common symptoms. Over-the-counter antifungal creams can be used to help relieve the itch or you could ask your pharmacist for advice on this. Keep the area clean and dry, wear cotton panties, and avoid scented products. You should see a gynecologist for further assessment and treatment.

I get my menses on the 8th and 24th is it normal
Female | 20
Your period arriving on the 8th and 24th may seem irregular. An unpredictable menstrual flow signals an erratic cycle. Stress, hormone imbalances, thyroid problems, or PCOS could cause this pattern. Recording dates on a calendar helps identify trends. Persistent irregularity warrants consulting a gynecologist for evaluation. They can suggest suitable remedies and provide guidance.

I have period cramps and nipple sore for last two weeks. So I am expecting about my period but still not happen .But still I have the pain without happening periods .I think It took a long time with cramps and nipple sore without happening period. Is it a normal situation or is it a problem?Should I have treatments?
Female | 20
It is not unusual to feel the symptoms associated with menstruation without the actual bleeding. The situation might arise due to hormonal factors, stress, or other reasons. But, if the pain is unbearable or it persists for a long time, you must seek medical attention. These might be the reasons for hormonal imbalances or reproduction-related issues. A gynecologist is the one who can identify the cause and offer the right treatment.

I am 23years girl n am married this is my 2month since I hv married. I hv 2days of missed period am I pregnant
Female | 23
Not having your period could mean that you are pregnant, especially if you’ve had sex. Other signs might be feeling sick to your stomach or throwing up sore breasts, or being very tired. Take a home pregnancy test if you think there’s a chance you could be pregnant. If it’s positive, make sure to go see a gynecologist so you can get the care and support that are needed during pregnancy.

hi i just got an abortion 2 weeks ago and some round tissue filled with liquid inside comes out of my vagina. i dont know what it is and i dont know if my abortion is successful.
Female | 23
The tissue filled with liquid is likely a clot or tissue from the abortion. Some discharge happens as your body heals. If you feel okay otherwise, it may just be part of getting back to normal. But if you have pain, fever, or heavy bleeding, tell your gynecologist to make sure it's not an issue.

My period cycle is 30 to 40 days. I am trying for pregnancy. Due to that my doctor said to take tests for PCOS, FSH and AMH levels.I have hypothyroid 3.1 report on Dec 2023 and taking 50 mcg daily. My FSH is 25.74 and AMH is 0.3 on March 2024 . My doctor told because of low egg reserve it is better to go IVF treatment. I need your suggestion on this.
Female | 27
Your test results suggest that your egg supply is running low, which could make it harder for you to get pregnant. This may be caused by something called PCOS. PCOS affects the menstrual cycle and fertility. Your doctor advised you to undergo IVF treatment to improve your chances of conception. IVF works by using technology to facilitate fertilization outside the body hence this might just be what you need. Make sure you discuss all possible options with your fertility specialist.

Im 33 year old lady had my period the 4-6 august on Friday the 16 august had a brown with little blood discharge then i took a pregnancy test and it was positive on Saturday started spot bleeding on Sunday with cramps then its start with pinch pain on the right side of my stomach
Female | 33
The brown discharge and a positive pregnancy test can mean that you are pregnant in the early stages. The spot bleeding and cramps could be due to either implantation or normal hormonal fluctuations. Additionally, it may be a cyst or muscle strain that you feel a pinch of pain on the right side. It's best to keep well hydrated, take enough rest, and watch the development of your symptoms. If the pain becomes unbearable or does not subside, consult a gynecologist for a proper diagnosis.

I am a 23 your old female and my periods is delayed by 14days . Usually my cycle is of 30-33days But this month it's delayed by 14days. I have never taken any contraceptives in my life and not even sexually active. I am not under any kind of medication for lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, thyroid, PCOS. My last period was on 30th April 2024 and the last medication I have taken was for viral fever on 1st May 2024 for five days. What medicine should I take to get back my normal cycle ??
Female | 23
It's common for periods to sometimes be late even if you're not sexually active. Stress, sudden weight changes, or illness like the viral fever you had may interfere with your cycle since your menstrual duration may change. There's no need for medication for now. Allow your organism to settle down and thus, your cycles will recover. If your periods are still unsteady or you have any other signs then it would be best to go to a gynecologist for a check-up.
