Answered on 12th June '24
It is highly unlikely that you could get pregnant from having sex during the first day of your period. Pregnancy symptoms usually start appearing a few weeks after the intercourse, such as missed menstrual periods, vomiting sensation, and tiredness. Therefore, the chances of it being pregnant are minimal. In case you are uncertain or require more details, visit a gynecologist.

Hi so I’ve had this pain in my right side for probably just over a year now. It stays like in my groin/hip area And it gets so uncomfortable that sometimes I can’t lie down on it or put pressure I’ve been to the hospital and they all say it’s nothing. It’s not my appendix. But I’ve been on the waiting list for 9 months now on the nhs to see a gynae.

I assume that you're on the left side with the discomfort in your hip/groin joint. Hence, you must consult a gynecologist to get a proper diagnosis of your condition.

I had unprotected sex on 16march 2024 and my periods date is 25 march 2024. Is there any chance I can get pregnant
Female | 22
There's a pregnancy risk if you have unprotected sex around your period time. A missed period is the primary sign indicating potential pregnancy. Pregnancy occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg. To prevent pregnancy, using protection during sexual activity is crucial. If you think you might be pregnant, taking a pregnancy test can confirm the situation.

No, you cannot get pregnant through clothing during foreplay. For pregnancy to occur, sperm needs to directly enter the vagina. However, if you have concerns about pregnancy or sexual health, it’s best to visit a gynecologist for proper advice and guidance.

I am a 22 year old female and I had a medical abortion which I really regret. I took the first oral pill but vomited very few minutes later. I continued with inserting the rest 48 hours later and I bled. My breasts are still sore and I’m still feeling tired. Could my baby be still alive? Which I’m really hoping for. And when can I do a scan to check if the abortion failed?
Female | 22
It is important to get a scan to confirm the status of your pregnancy. While vomiting shortly after taking the first pill might reduce its effectiveness, the subsequent bleeding could indicate that the abortion process has begun. To know for sure, visit a gynecologist as soon as possible for an ultrasound. They will provide the most accurate information and appropriate guidance.

I have bilateral pco what does it mean.. can I conceive easily
Female | 30
Having bilateral PCO involves small fluid-filled sacs called cysts in both ovaries. This hormonal imbalance can disrupt periods, causing acne and difficulties conceiving. To improve fertility chances, maintain a healthy weight through regular exercise. If conception remains challenging, your gynecologist may recommend treatments to aid ovulation.

Want to delay my periods for four days and not getting pregnant ... What should I do?
Female | 21
If you want to delay your periods for four days and avoid getting pregnant, what about taking a drug called norethisterone that has been passed for such use? This medication will be the way to delay your period. It achieves this by controlling the production of progesterone in your body. Nevertheless, remember that this is not a contraceptive method, so you have to use other birth control methods if you are sexually active. A gynecologist would best be able to assess you and establish the correct prescription and dosage for you.

I have sex on the last day of my period dat is on sixth of this month isn’t possible that am pregnant
Female | 29
On the last day of your period, sex does not guarantee the absence of pregnancy. Sperms are viable to survive for 5 days in the female reproductive tract. Therefore, you better use contraception if you do not wish to conceive. Please refer to a gynecologist, to discuss with him/her, the best birth control option for you.

Female | 23
You might have a disorder called menorrhagia, that is having heavy periods with clots. This problem may be due to hormonal imbalances or issues with the uterus. The heavy bleeding and clots you experienced may have caused some disturbances in your normal menstrual cycle. Consulting a doctor is essential for further evaluation and management. Treatments including hormonal therapy and procedures to deal with heavy bleeding can be the options that these doctors will mention to you.

Do I need to take any contraceptive pill if I had unprotected sex on the 2nd day of my period
Female | 21
Having sex without protection on the second day of your period usually means there is a decreased chance of becoming pregnant. During this time, the egg is less likely to be ready for fertilization. However, it is not impossible to get pregnant so if you want to be extra safe, you might want to take emergency contraception within 72 hours just in case.

The risk of pregnancy is generally low. However, variations in cycles, stress, and other factors can cause period delays. Consider emergency contraception if needed, and if your period is significantly late, take a pregnancy test.

Female | 17
Don’t worry if your period is late; this may happen due to various reasons. For instance, stress, changes in routine, or hormonal fluctuations are capable of causing delays. If you took several negative pregnancy tests, then it is unlikely that you are pregnant. In case you have some symptoms like abnormal pains during menstruation or heavy bleeding please take note of them and if need be see a gynecologist for more advice tailored to your situation.

I am 23 year old , am getting vaginal bleed now I don't know it's bleeding or my periods because today morning only I masturbated after a hrs I got bleeding, am fear of it please tell me what happened to me .
Female | 23
Bleeding following masturbation might result from the sensitivity of vaginal tissues, especially if you are a bit intense. Since it’s out of season, you can’t be menstruating. This bleeding will stop by itself without any treatment. If it continues or becomes heavy, you should see a gynecologist.
