How can I help my 7-month-old with chesty cough?

I have a 7 month old with a very chesty cough for the last 5/6 days and now it’s making her throw up and gag when she has a coughing fit. She also is really struggling to cough up the phlegm and I’m scared she’s going to choke on it when she tries to as she struggles so much to clear it. How do I help her?

Answered on 23rd May '24

It appears that the little one has a cough; this sounds chesty. When I say chesty, I mean that he/she has mucus in his/her chest. If not handled well, the kid may struggle to breathe or vomit. The first measure is to give the child plenty of water to drink. Think of installing a humidifier right in his/her bedroom so that the air can be a bit moist. In case things go south and the cough becomes severe, feel free to seek the help of a pediatrician.

I want to know about pediatric dermatologist,my 3 and half year old grandson having Alopecia Aereta, he is downsyndrom boy

Male | 3

Your grandson suffers from Alopecia Areata. Hair falls out in circular bald patches. It can impact eyebrows or lashes too. It's harmless but visually concerning. Usually, it occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles. But the good news is, hair often regrows naturally over time. To aid regrowth, dermatologists may prescribe steroid injections or creams. Consult a pediatric dermatologist for guidance and optimal treatment options.

Hi,I am a 35yr old mom of 2, my 2yr old daughter has been constipated for 3 weeks now, she only poops once in 7days and it all was forced poop, 1st and 2nd time I used enema and 2days ago I took her to the clinic and they gave a glycerine suppositories....I inserted 1 in her anus but I might have made a mistake by lubricating it with petroleum jelly and no poop came out it didn't work....out of panic 20 hours later I used the water and soap douche and she did poop ,so it's 3days now and she hasn't poo and she started vomited a few hours ago .

Female | 2

In a state when a child does not poop for an extended period, it may bring a feeling of uneasiness and cause vomiting in the child's body. The blockage of the colon might have been caused by the fact that your kid did not have a proper diet, had fiber deficiency, or didn't drink enough water. Give her to eat more fruits, and vegetables, and drink water.

What can I give a girl having high temperature

Female | 5

Fevers are the body's reaction to fighting off germs. Drink lots of water. Take acetaminophen for the fever. If the fever persists for more than 3 days, visit a doctor. That's important because high fevers can be worrisome. A mild fever under 102 Fahrenheit is okay and common for kids during minor illnesses. But anything over 103 Fahrenheit means getting medical attention. Keeping fluids up and medication helps kids feel better during fevers.

Hi doctor my one year baby boy passed hard stools today 5 times what would be the reason. But he is active and playing but he has a running nose and cold... Please advise as I am worried.

Female | 30

Your baby's tummy issues with the cold aren't surprising. Colds produce mucus, and hardening stools are normal. Keep them hydrated: offer liquids, pears, and prunes to ease bowels. Monitor symptoms closely; if concerned, consult experts promptly.

Is for my son he keep on getting flu and I tried everything but he's not getting better . What should I do now

Male | 2

The flu is unpleasant - fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches. Your son's immune system seems weak, allowing repeated infections. He needs rest, hydration, nutritious meals, and frequent handwashing. Speak to a doctor about getting him a flu vaccine. It could prevent future illnesses.

Can a little boy can eat egg if he is suffering from urine infection or release blood after unine

Male | 6

Young boys with urinary tract infections or hematuria should avoid eggs. Egg consumption aggravates bladder irritation, and worsening symptoms. The signs include pain during urination, frequent bathroom trips, and pinkish-reddish urine. Hydration and fruits/veggies aid recovery, helping the body combat the infection. Symptoms like painful urination, increased urinary frequency, and discolored urine indicate the condition. .
