I have a swollen lymph node in my groin and I don’t know why

Answered on 30th Aug '24
Among the reasons behind swollen lymph nodes in the groin are various things. The most common cases are infections in your legs or pelvis, especially a wound or a skin condition. It is also possible to be caused by a sexually transmitted infection. Don't worry, in many cases, it's nothing serious. If it doesn't improve or gets bigger, speak to a dermatologist.

I have a rash by my neck and now it's starting by my arms. It's itching as well.
Female | 31
Rashes can be caused by quite a few different things such as allergies, skin irritations, or infections. Itching the rash might only worsen it so try not to scratch too much. To help soothe the itchiness, use a mild fragrance-free moisturizer. If it doesn’t get better or if it gets worse, it would be a good idea to consult with a dermatologist for further advice.

Hi, I am a girl of 19 years old. My boyfriend has given me a love bite on my breast and on back. I wanted to ask if this is normal? As I am feeling a bit sick and feverish. I want to know if this is okay to feel such way? For more information, earlier when i got a love bite, it was on neck and i faced neck infection. I had neck swelling. It got okay after medications though. But I want to know if there are chances for swelling this time too? Something like this? Or will it be okay with time and nothing will happen? Please clear. Thanks
Female | 19
A love bite can cause fever and sickness, it's normal. Your boyfriend's bite on the breast and back may have let bacteria enter broken skin. This causes infection - swelling and tenderness. Clean the area, use warm compress, take pain meds if needed. But if pus appears or symptoms worsen, get medical help right away.

I had my hair waxed a few days ago and now my hair is working.
Male | 42
You might have ingrown hairs from waxing. Ingrown hairs grow into the skin, not out. They can make skin red, swollen, and sore. To help, wear loose clothes. Use warm washcloths on the area. Gently scrub off dead skin cells. Don't pick up ingrown hairs. It could cause infection. If it doesn't get better or gets worse, talk to a dermatologist.

Dark black spot at both corners of my lip. I have tried to treat it, but to no effect yet.
Female | 25
Dark black spots in the corners of the lip can be removed using RF cautery under local anesthesia, or can use some other clinical treatment too, but before any assumptions are made, examination is a must. You can connect with any dermatologist in Navi Mumbai to solve this issue.

i don't have any symptoms of piles. i don't have pain or bleeding but a small pimple has appeared on my anus hole lining. it's almost 3 days now it's appeared suddenly
Female | 24
The small pimple you mentioned could be a hemorrhoid. Swollen blood vessels are just one of the forms of hemorrhage in the rectum. They can appear suddenly and may not always cause pain or bleeding. The usual suspects are excessive straining during bowel movements and long periods of sitting. I recommend drinking enough water, eating fiber-rich foods, and avoiding straining. If the problem is still there, see a gastroenterologist for the right evaluation and treatment.

I have ance on my face and I want to get get of it it gives me insecurities too much
Female | 18
Acne is an issue many people deal with. Clogged pores allow oil and dead skin build-up. Whiteheads, blackheads, pimples form. Use gentle face wash. Don't pop pimples. Over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide products help. If very severe acne persists, see a dermatologist. They can prescribe stronger medication.

I have warts problem and I want to know how to remove this from my system.
Male | 31
Warts are skin growths caused by a virus. They appear on hands, feet, and elsewhere. Bumpy, with black dots. Usually painless, but bothersome. Try over-the-counter medicated patches or freezing sprays to remove. If those fail, see a dermatologist. They offer prescription meds or procedures to remove stubborn warts.

Hi, My little finger got injured a few days back. There was no cut or bleeding but there was pus coming from it for couple of days. I did not use any medicine. Now it heeled completely and I do not have any pain. But the fingernail is starting to come off. What should I do?
Male | 24
Your finger got an infection and that’s why there was pus. The pus most likely helped to fight off the infection in your body though. Once your finger has healed, it’s common for the nail to come off occasionally. A new one will grow back. Keep the area clean and covered. However, if it looks infected again or you are worried about anything else then it’s always best to get it checked out by a dermatologist.

Wound problem cream tablet
Male | 70
Common symptoms can include redness, swelling, or discharge. Various factors such as infection or improper healing may contribute to these concerns. Over-the-counter remedies like topical creams can help soothe minor wounds, while oral medications may address discomfort. However, if you experience persistent pain, increased redness, or swelling, it's wise to seek professional help. A dermatologist can offer targeted treatment and ensure your wound heals properly.

Age-41yrs. From last 3 years suffering from a black patch all around my lips, specially below the lips on both sides. I had visited a doctor there who detected the problem to be Perical pig / Melasma Pg as written in the prescription. Treated me with the following medicines For the 1st month- Cetaphil gentle cleanser, Flutivate E cream alternate night and Kojic cream once in a day. Next visit I was advised to use Kojiglo cream once daily, Eukroma+Flutivate E cream on the patches twice a week. But I did not find any difference. I had informed the doctor that I cannot afford a very costly treatment, but on her assurance during my third visit I was applied Glycocil pack but yet felt no difference. Then was asked to use Dermadew Caloe lotion every day and Azideenz 10% gel once a day, this gel made my skin rough, when complained she advised me to use only Dermadew lotion day and night daily. My face is 2 to 3 shades darker than my body color. What to do now to get rid of this patch
Female | 41
Without a proper evaluation and diagnosis, I can't say. But normally, suggested treatments for perical pigmentation include topical medications and laser treatments and I do not recommend flutivate cream for pigmentation. However, based on your individual condition, the doctor will recommend the best treatment for you.

mera white spot hua hai but color utna white nhi hai thik hone me kitna time lagega
Male | 28
Depending on what you are describing, it may be a type of skin disorder called vitiligo. With vitiligo, the cells that make the pigment in the skin are destroyed through the melanocyte process, thereby producing white spots on the skin. It is always best to book an appointment with a dermatologist.

I had itching, burning sensation, and irritation in penis tip (opening) and penile shaft
Male | 44
Discomfort in the genital area can be caused by several factors, including irritation, infections, or allergic reactions. Usual suspects could well be creams, soaps, or skin conditions. Ensure the region is kept clean and dry. Over-the-counter soothing creams may also work. If the symptoms continue or get worse, however, I strongly suggest seeing a dermatologist. A healthcare professional can identify the problem and come up with a plan that is specifically made for you.

Male | 18
Persistent red marks on the face that resemble eczema may require a more detailed assessment. ..depending on the diagnosis your dermatologist may suggest alternative topical medications, oral medications tailored to your specific condition. by that time avoid potential triggers for your skin. Maintained a blanced diet, avoid spicy foods.

Male | 34
It seems like you may feel uncomfortable or exposed in a vulnerable situation. Among the major causes to request the help of a doctor are the progress of new diseases, sensations that are not normal at all, and other distressing signs. The most important thing is to have a frank conversation with a medical professional who can identify your specific needs in a more detailed manner. In the case that you notice certain symptoms such as pain, giddiness, or any other health changes, make sure you consult a dermatologist.

I'm 24 years old . Last year onwards I'm getting bad acne and Breakout from the Cetaphil cleanser and most of the products are breaking me out. I'm having open pores and comedones , dark spots of past acne and every day new emergence of postules with white tip.
Female | 24
The complaints you're listing - acne reasons such as open pores, comedones, dark spots, and white-tipped pimples - represent the first stages of acne. Specific medications or personal care items that you use can worsen acne. You can improve your skin using mild, non-comedogenic cleansers and oil-free moisturizers. Steer clear of products that contribute to the blockage and irritation of the skin. If the acne does not improve, a dermatologist would be the best person to talk to for more recommendations.

I am a 22 year old female, my breasts have become more pale and sensitive as of late, and am unsure why.
Female | 22
Breasts changing color and feeling more sensitive is common. This could happen due to hormones, irritated skin, or blood flow changes. Look for other issues like pain or lumps too. If changes last or worry you, talk to a doctor for a checkup.

I am 27 year old female I have acne and Mark'si have applied many creams and soaps which are not working ft my skin I have combination normal skin only Can u suggest me cream and soap/ face wash what to do now ?
Female | 27
The issue of acne and the blemishes that follow can be quite an irritating one, particularly when the prior medications were not effective. You might achieve a reduction in the number of breakouts by using a mild facial cleanser that contains either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Search for non-comedogenic moisturizers and include products with niacinamide or vitamin C to resolve skin spots. Regardless, you may also consult a dermatologist who may prescribe you treatment and additional preventive measures.

Loss of skin elasticity or texture can be caused by various factors such as irritation, infections, allergies, or skin conditions. Symptoms might include discomfort, redness, or swelling. To promote healing, maintain cleanliness, avoid irritants, and consider using a gentle moisturizer if appropriate. However, it’s best to consult a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment. They can provide guidance specific to your situation and ensure your peace of mind.
