I have bymistakely taken cooked fish gall bladder
Surgical Gastroenterologist
Answered on 16th Oct '24
Fish gallbladders contain toxins that humans can't process. Eating cooked ones may cause stomach issues, nausea, throwing up, and diarrhea. Drink water to flush toxins. See a gastroenterologist if symptoms are bad or continue. Be careful what you eat next time.

Hello there, i had a question about a recent blood test i had. My alkaline phosphatase level was slightly high at 134 with reference range being 30-130 and my bilirubin was 31 with reference range being below 21, is this something i should be concerned about?
Male | 18
your alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin are slightly higher than normal. These levels could show liver or bone problems. It would be necessary that you see a gastroenterologist or a hepatologist to conduct further investigations and therapy.

Dear Doctor, From last 10-15 days I am having upset stomach with cramps and gas build up, it seems the stomach has become hard and full and despite of having light foods my stomach gets upset and have to visit the washroom quite frequently, the stool is not watery but semi liquid, I'm also taking probiotics like curd and Rinifol Capsules but also it doesn't help much and have taken the full course (5 days) of antibiotics like Zenflox OZ but didn't get much of relief. I would request you to please suggest me good medicines for the same. Thanks and Regards
Male | 41
Your signs of upset stomach, cramps, gas, and frequent semi-liquid stools have led us to think that you might have a gastrointestinal infection or inflammation. You must remain hydrated by drinking plenty of water and steering clear of spicy or fatty foods. You might want to try some over-the-counter medications like Pepto-Bismol or Imodium if your symptoms are bothering you. Besides, go to a gastroenterologist to eliminate the possibility of any serious conditions and get the right treatment if necessary.

Stomach pain and diarrhea since Thursday the 30th May Also some light brown discharge when wiping after using the toilet with diarrhea
Female | 29
Stomachache and diarrhea that go along with light brown spotting may indicate a tummy bug or infection. The reason for these signs might be food poisoning or a virus. Remember to drink plenty of water for hydration and take some rest. If you don’t feel better or your symptoms become worse, don’t hesitate to consult with a gastroenterologist as soon as possible.

Contacting you for my brother. He has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 18 years ago. There seems to be no remission phases though, even though he has tried several things - medication, alternative medicine etc. Could it be something else at hand? Maybe wrong diagnosing to begin with or a combination of things?
Male | 41
I'm sorry to hear that your brother is struggling with ulcerative colitis. Other conditions like infections or complications from long-term inflammation might also be causing his symptoms. He needs to see a gastroenterologist for a thorough check-up to rule out other possibilities. The doctor may suggest additional tests or treatments to help manage his condition better.

For severe constipation, especially with your long-term diabetes, it's important to address this carefully. Overuse of laxatives like Laxet can worsen the problem. Increasing fiber intake, staying hydrated, and regular exercise can help. However, for immediate relief and to ensure it's safe given your medical history, please consult a gastroenterologist. They can provide appropriate treatment and manage any underlying issues.

I take Aciclovir dispersible tablet approx 1 week & due to this there have arise a problem that .... there is pain in my stomach & also cause weakness arise
Female | 21
Aciclovir dispersible tablets could cause stomach aches. You might feel weak too. That's because the tablets irritate your stomach lining sometimes. Take them with food to avoid irritation. Drink lots of water. Eat small, mild meals. This helps with the weakness. If stomach pain or weakness continues, talk to a gastroenterologist.

The baby seems to be having some stomach problems. If there are any light-colored bumps on the skin, the water in the stool AKA diarrhea, and a long-lasting fever could indicate bacterial infection or intolerance. Through this process, the baby may feel very weak and can vomit frequently. You can take your kid to the doctor if they are experiencing so many symptoms and have them undergo check-ups and a prescribed treatment to fix them.

I am 27 year old Male. For the last one week, I have been experiencing fever. Before I had taken spicy food that resulted into stomach aching and I took an herbal medicine known as Kayam Churna and the situation was normal. Experiencing a fever at night never stopped. Until yesterday when I started having black stool like bitumen or tar. I have gone thrice to the washroom and the colour is the same as of now.

I take opioids for recreational use and also for anxiety. They have been a life saver for me. But now all of a sudden I am experiencing extreme constipation. It is worth nothing I've had chronic constipation issues my whole life pretty much. I took 2 glasses of MiraLax and 3 Dulcolax stimulant laxatives.
Male | 23
Opioids are known to cause constipation by slowing down intestinal movement. Chronic constipation can lead to further complications if not addressed. Taking MiraLax and Dulcolax was a good start, but it's also important to drink plenty of water and eat high-fiber foods to help improve the condition. Additionally, including light exercise, like walking or yoga, in your routine can be beneficial. If the constipation persists, it would be a good idea to consult a gastroenterologist for further advice and support.
