The skin issue you're experiencing is likely acne, a common skin condition. Acne happens when hair follicles get clogged due to extra oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. This can lead to pimples, blackheads, or acne scars, and may also cause dark spots due to inflammation.

To improve your skincare routine, start with a gentle cleanser. Avoid touching your face often and try products with ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Also, try to limit sun exposure. If you need more help, visit a dermatologist.

Stitches on web of hand have opened and now there is pus and earlier a large red mass on stiches

Male | 14

You may have an infection in the stitches on your hand. When pus comes out, it indicates that there is probably bacteria which is causing the infection. This might have occurred if the wound was not kept clean. If there was a large red lump previously, it could have been an abscess. It’s crucial to have this seen by medical professional because, without proper care, things like these can worsen.

I had an operation on back side of my head in which the area was infected with an infection called carbuncle and it was cut to remove it and then the skin there regenerated soon, but its 3 years and the hair there hasn't grown yet. the diameter of that are is approx 5cm. Is there any other way to get hair back without hair transplant?

Male | 14

I recommend that you see a dermatologist for this issue. The scar tissue that resulted from the surgery might have injured the hair follicles, thus depriving them of any regrowth. Unfortunately, there is no scientifically based treatment to re-grow hair in scar tissue except by means of a transplant. Some topical treatments may be prescribed by a dermatologist

I have acne, pimple, dark spot, black head, puffy acne, dark circles, oily skin, sensitive skin which products should I use for clear skin

Female | 16

You seem to have several skin issues like pimples, discoloration, clogged pores, dark circles, oily skin, and sensitivity. Acne is caused by oil and dead cells clogging pores, while dark spots and circles often result from pigment changes or inflammation. To improve your skin, use gentle, non-comedogenic cleansers and moisturizers. Products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can help with acne, while tea tree oil or witch hazel may reduce swelling. For dark spots, look for brightening ingredients like vitamin C or niacinamide.

I am a 13½ year old male, My date of birth is September 30th 2010 and I was born in Sligo and from Garrison Co. FERMANAGH'S border and I would like to ask if anything is wrong with me I have a lot of white spots on my dick all around the testicles and I have had these for a long, Do I have a hernia?

Male | 13½

It should be known that these things are quite usual and mostly innocent. They could be what is referred to as the Fordyce spots which simply put are oil glands. However, if there is any form of pain or itching accompanying them then it would be wise to see a medical practitioner who will advise accordingly. Hernias usually show themselves as bulges or swellings around the groin so there’s little chance they could be connected with the description of the said spots. To be sure, though, having them checked out by a healthcare provider would still do no harm!

Female | 17

After taking fever medicine, it usually happens that a person feels to be hot. Chickenpox is a virus that causes the manifestation of itchiness all around the body with red spots that turn into blisters. Fever, headache, and tiredness are the most common symptoms. Always remember to drink plenty of fluids to keep your body hydrated. Calamine lotion is useful in alleviating itching. Plenty of rest is essential.

I suggest that you should take your daughter to a dermatologist who will then check and identify the cause of her rash. It is advised that you consult a dermatologist close to you before you prescribe any drug or treatment.

I have sweating glands under eyes. Can that be cured. If yes, how?

Sweating under the eyes is abnormal and may be an indication of such a problem as hyperhidrosis- this can signify something wrong in numerous parts of the body that appear to sweat profusely. Treatment alternatives range from topical antiperspirants, Botox injections, oral treatments to surgery if necessary. It is best to contact a dermatologist who can diagnose your specific condition and advise you on the most suitable treatment. They can give you a detailed assessment to find the root cause of your sweating and create an individual treatment plan that will help them deal with all these symptoms effectively. Remember, key to effective addressing of hyperhidrosis is the correct diagnosis as well as tailored treatment.
