Why am I experiencing dizzy spells and blurry vision?
I’m 18 year old female, 5.5 and 1/2 160 pounds, for the past 3 months I’ve been having dizzy spells, blurry vision and sometimes loss of vision, my whole body heats up, sometimes I puke, it happens a lot when I get out of the shower and I don’t take hot showers. I take Vyvanse,
Neurosurgeon
Answered on 28th May '24
This sounds like the symptoms of a condition called postural orthostatic syndrome (POTS). POTS can make you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint when you stand up. It can also cause your vision to blur when standing up, heat intolerance, and nausea upon standing up. Vyvanse could worsen these symptoms. Drinking lots of fluids and adding more salt to your diet might help. Talk to your doctor about this.

Hi My daughter who is 6 has epilepsy was diagnosed last year after having a first major seizure. She has had 3 brains surgery two to remove fluid from the brain and recent a VP Shunt put in her head. She is on cannabis oil as this is only helping her. Her behaviour is out control and she never had this issue till she had seizure last year. One the right side of the brain she has one nerve causing her have silent seizure till now no doctor can help her I am depress seeking help to live a normal life
Female | 6
I advise you to get a pediatric neurologist and make an appointment as soon as possible for your daughter and her problems. A solitary nerve damage from a seizure on the right side of her brain might necessitate more tests and/or treatment.

Actually my father had a mini stroke last week. After that we visited doctor they did ct scan and ecg tests. Everything was normal but the ct scan report said that in the left side of brain its little bit injured due to high blood pressure. Now, from 5-6 days he is unable to do any work with his right hand, rest everything is ok. And also he forgot his atm pin, where he kept documents and all.
Male | 47
It sounds like he might have experienced a small stroke (mini-stroke or TIA). It's good that the CT scan and ECG were normal, but the injury on the left side of the brain could be causing the weakness in his right hand and memory issues. I would advise you to consult a neurologist for further evaluation and management.

Kell phenotype positive in blood test! Necessarily Mcleod syndrome should be present ? Will I go mad ? Like king henry ? No kids ?
Male | 25
This is not always the case, occasionally a positive K positive blood test may be diagnosed as McLeod syndrome. McLeod is pretty rare and it has some symptoms that are not found in any other disease such as muscle weakness or even heart problems. The most important thing is to get the ok from a neurologist who will give you more complete details.

What is the treatment of head tremor
Female | 16
Head tremors cause involuntary head shaking or moving. Stress, tiredness, and medical issues trigger them. Finding the reason is crucial for treatment. Sometimes, reducing stress levels, proper rest, medication helps. For severe tremors, physical therapy or surgery may be options. I tend to jump to worse case scenario but I recently got diagnosed with vertigo caused by middle ear fluid and recently it’s came back since where I am the weather has gotten worse and my vision is kind of blurry sometimes and I have a hard time focusing on someone when they are talking how likely is it that this is being caused by a brain tumor and not the middle ear vertigo or am I just completely over thinking this
Female | 21
The blurry vision and the difficulty in focusing can be the vertigo that the ear fluid causes. It is common and it does not mean that you have a brain tumor. The ear fluid can mess up your balance and vision. Usually, it gets better on its own, but you might need medicine or special exercises if the problem keeps bothering you.

Good day doctor Since childhood, I have always been pressing on my nerves and muscles throughout my body, and I can't control myself. It's like grinding teeth, but in my body, and it's voluntary. These are not spasms; I do them, but I can't stop them. When I try to stop myself, I feel like I'm going to explode. The issue was minor in childhood and significantly reduced during adolescence almost to the point of disappearing. However, over the past few years, the problem has worsened significantly. Currently, I'm squeezing my body's vertebrae, especially my neck, and I feel like it's twisting. I consulted a psychiatrist and neurologist who said there is no organic issue, just a bit of anxiety. I took medications for anxiety and stress, but there was no effect. Thank you very much for your time
Male | 34
The nature of your symptoms probably is involuntary muscle contractions or muscle spasms. It is necessary to have the condition assessed by a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders or a physiotherapist who will be able to look at your condition in person and guide you properly.

The arm pain is continuous, it reduces only when I continuously swing my arm in all directions. Is it pressure!! What can I do.

You may be dealing with stress and thoracic outlet syndrome. This happens when nerves or blood vessels near your neck and shoulder get pinched, causing pain and foggy thinking. Stress and repetitive movements worsen it. Take breaks and do gentle stretches. Try relaxing activities too.

Female | 38
It feels like you might have sinusitis. Sinusitis can make one side of your head hurt, swell up your face, or affect your sight. This occurs when the sinuses in your face become infected or inflamed. Try putting warm wet towels on your face, drinking lots of water, and using saline nasal sprays. If it still hurts, contact a healthcare provider for further treatment.

I'm 17 years old. I'm having sleep problems.i can't sleep properly in night, it's almost took me 2 hours to sleep even after closing my eyes. And in day time , my eyes started to burning
Female | 17
Seems like you might have insomnia, that is the inability to fall asleep or stay asleep. If you can’t fall asleep at night this can cause tired eyes that burn all day long. Stress, caffeine and use of screens before bedtime are some common reasons why teenagers suffer from this condition. Establishing a night time routine, avoiding caffeine and switching off the screens before going to bed may help improve your sleeping patterns.

My child is suffering from severe headache everyday I had gone through all the checkups Even ct scan, mri But all reports are normal
Male | 11
If all the tests, like CT scans and MRIs, are normal, there might be different explanations for the headaches. Sometimes, stress, bad sleep, dehydration, and eye strain can be the causes of headaches. Tell your child to drink water, get enough sleep, deal with stress, and take a break from screens regularly. If the headaches continue, it's vital to consult a neurologist for more evaluation and guidance.

Headaches can hurt a lot. There are many different kinds of headaches. If you have been experiencing headaches for a long time, it is important to determine what is causing them. i hit my head three months ago. it was bleeding and i went to the hospital. they did a CAT scan, said no bleeding on the brain, it was deep but no stitches and no sign of concussion. Now three months later i have tenderness and pain where i hit my head
Male | 73
After an impact to the head, some lingering discomfort and tenderness is quite typical. This could stem from a small patch of scar tissue forming at the injury site. Applying cold packs and taking pain medication can provide relief. However, if the pain persists or intensifies, consulting a neurologist would be advisable for further assessment.

I'm a practitioner in Navimumbai since 30yrs and my grand child 9months old normal mile stones till now normal , has started showing typical stereotyped movements in the upper limbs and my daughter being a ophthalmologist feels it is like infantile spasms. I'm worried. She stays in chattisgarh. What can be done? Kindly help Dr.
Male | 9months
Jerky motions in a baby's arms may be infantile spasms, a seizure disorder common around this age. These sudden twitches in limbs need medical care quickly. See a pediatric neurologist soon for proper tests and plan. Early action matters to avoid issues and help the baby's growth.

I had Guillain-Barré syndrome around 2014 , was treated.I felt my left eye became smaller than usual size after many years of the treatment. Is it possible to get treatment for my eye to be normal?
Female | 44
Changing eye sizes can be caused by several factors, including nerve involvement from the syndrome. Some interventions may be used to improve your eye's looks or function, like for example vision therapy or aesthetic procedures. An appointment with an eye doctor who can evaluate your situation and prescribe appropriate cures specific to your condition is vital.

from past 1 week i have been feeling really sleepy to the point where i am sleeping 10hours and after waking up still feeling the urge to sleep ...tired ,weak ,also feeling lightheadedness ...can u plz help me out with the diagnosis
Female | 24
Your symptoms of excessive sleepiness, tiredness, weakness, and lightheadedness could indicate anemia. Anemia occurs when your body lacks enough red blood cells to carry oxygen to your organs, making you feel tired and dizzy. This may be due to iron deficiency, blood loss, or a health issue affecting your red blood cells. I suggest visiting a doctor for a blood test to check your iron levels. Including iron-rich foods like spinach, beans, and lean meats in your diet can also help.
