Why Do I Have Temporal Pain and Decreased Hearing?

I’m an 18 year old female who has had temporal pain for around 10 years now. I have tried paracetamol but it doesn’t work. I’ve been to the doctors countless times and they say everything is fine. Sometimes my jaw hurts, also i have had decreased hearing. It hurts more when i press the inner part of the ear and when i move it. What should i do?

From your description of symptoms like jaw pain and reduced hearing, it can be pointed to temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) as a probable cause of the problem. TMD can be the jaw joint and surrounding muscles, which are sore and stiffer than before. Also, one may notice some symptoms like ear pain and changes in hearing. Seek advice from a dentist who will check you up thoroughly and prescribe you the needed therapies. The dentist can create a successful plan for handling your symptoms.

The most common reasons for this are stress, lack of sleep, and eye strain. Try to relax, get enough sleep, and consider using cold packs on your forehead. If it doesn’t improve, it’s best to see a doctor for further evaluation.

This type of headache can cause pain not only in the head but also in the eyes and sometimes even in the chest. It is often accompanied by severe chills and body aches. Finding a quiet, dark place to rest can help. Drinking water and taking pain relievers like paracetamol can also provide relief.

You may be dealing with stress and thoracic outlet syndrome. This happens when nerves or blood vessels near your neck and shoulder get pinched, causing pain and foggy thinking. Stress and repetitive movements worsen it. Take breaks and do gentle stretches. Try relaxing activities too.

Assalamu Alaikum My sister has been having severe headache for the past week. I have used a lot of painkillers but there is no relief. Please suggest some good medicine.1

Female | 22

Experiencing persistent headaches can be concerning, especially when over-the-counter medications are ineffective. Possible causes may include tension, migraines, or even underlying issues like sinus problems. While it may be tempting to continue self-treating, I recommend visiting a neurologist for a thorough evaluation. They can determine the precise cause and suggest appropriate treatment, which may include prescription medications or other therapies. Meanwhile, ensure your sister stays hydrated, rests adequately, and manages stress when possible. Prioritizing her well-being is crucial, so don't hesitate to seek help.
