You might have tinnitus, which happens when you hear ringing, buzzing, or other noises in your ears. This might happen because of loud sounds, ear infections, or stress. To get over tinnitus follow the suggestions of initiating off loud sounds, cutting the stress level, and mind covering the ringing with white noise generators. In case it is giving you a lot of trouble, visit an ENT specialist for more professional advice.

I’m a 22 female. One day, probably 3 days ago i started feeling my voice cracking. It felt funny, didn’t have any other symptoms, have happened to me before. In the evening i went to concert and tried that “wooh“ and couldn’t. Sounded awful. I didn’t thought anything serious, later after talking a while, it got better. Had some lozenges. Next morning i had almost no voice. Well, I thought whatever, and went to work (as a barista). Almost all of the time my colleague talked. But i had to a bit as well. As day went on it got worse n worse. Hard to swallow. Sore throat. Nothing else. Had Decatylen (pills and spray), herbal lozenges, GeloRevoice, teas, NAC, vitamin c with honey. One time it was acid, then antacid worked. But not this time. I don’t know what to do anymore

I have problem in my right ear suddenly one month ago i feel deafness in my right ear got audiogram test at pd hinduja hospital got suggetion from doctor arptit sharma ent specialist now the audiogram report problem find is sensonural hearing loss doctor say its too late for treatment he give me one month steoroid tablet i take tablet 11 days but there is not a any good sign i am confused what should i do consult a diffrent ent specialist or if my nerve is damaged i consult with nerologist please sugest

Please continue on the steroids as they are the only way to provide some stimulus to the hearing nerve in this situation. There are other medications that can be given to increase blood supply to the nerve but the best chance of nerve recovery is within the first one or two days after which the chances are unpredictable and low in most cases. Please take a follow up consult your ENT surgeon as they will keep a close watch on improvement in the nerve which usually isn't something you will be able to perceive by yourself. You need to have repeat hearing testings to watch for improvement. In all cases, do not stop the steroid abruptly!

I had strep and an ear infection. I went to urgent care twice. I took clindamycin for 10 days and the strep went away, so did the pain in the ear. It’s still clogged and I can’t hear much though (now 3 days past the last dose of antibiotics). There’s not pain, just pressure and little hearing. And when I yawn/blow my nose/etc it crackles like it wants to pop but it won’t clear. How long should I wait for it to clear before I go to a doctor again about it..?

The pressure and crackling you're feeling may be due to fluid trapped behind your eardrum, often after an infection. It usually clears on its own within a few weeks. In the meantime, you can try chewing gum, yawning, or performing the Valsalva maneuver (close your mouth, pinch your nose, and blow gently) to open the Eustachian tube. If the problem persists for more than a couple of weeks or worsens, it's best to see an ENT doctor for further treatment.

Am a 27 Y/O female. I got a cold about 2 weeks ago and I’m having a hard time getting over it. I still have wheezing, a wet cough, extreme fatigue, and phlegm, but my main issue is that my ear became very “stuffy” and it felt like there was fluid In Them. I wake up with drainage, and they pop often. I have pictures of my inner ear to share for more detail. I had tubes when I was young, and I had a very traumatic accident happen while they were in place, and my ears have been a pain ever since. I get extremely painful pressure when I fly to the point where I cry the whole flight if I don’t have my special ear plugs. And heaven forbid I get an ear infection. Oh i'm so sorry to hear your symptoms. It sounds like there is a lot going on in the ear canal and the tube connecting the ear to the nose which we call- The eustachian tube. Please visit your nearest ent who will do an endoscopy of the ear, get the hearing and e tube function evaluation and assess for chronic issues to ensure it doesn't get worse with time.
