Why is my 1-year-old always touching her ears?

My 1 year old daughter is always rubbing her ears and putting her fingers in her ears.

Answered on 23rd May '24

An ear infection caused by bacteria or viruses is the most common reason. Colds can sometimes cause this too. To help, give pain medicine and use a warm cloth on the ear. If earaches persist, take your child to see a pediatrician for an examination.

Sir my son is 5 and a half yrs old and our labrador has jump d on him . He has a scratch on his hand it's vaccination date has failed by 4 days .what should I do

Male | 5

Dog scratches can sometimes get infected. Here's what you need to do: look closely at the scratch. If it gets red, swollen, or pus starts oozing out, that means it's infected. Clean the scratch with soap and water. Then cover it with a bandage. Your son missed his shots by only 4 days, so he should still have some protection. But keep a close watch on that scratch. If anything seems off, don't wait around. See a doctor right away to be safe.

We are giving medicine from last four 4 years from qualified doctors of pakistan dr noreen akhtar but the child swelled when she leaves the medicine for a month.

Female | 10

Swelling after stopping medicine could show edema, a condition where fluid builds up. This happens because the body adjusts to medicine, then responds when it's removed suddenly. Many reasons like heart or kidney problems can cause edema. Doctors slowly reduce doses to avoid reactions like swelling. It's crucial to talk with your doctor about this concern.

abnormal functioning of outer hair cells of cochlea for 3 months child

Male | 0

Maybe your child is not able to hear as well because the outer hair cells in the cochlea are affected. Not only this but the child may lack in hearing or have difficulty in responding to the everyday sounds as it was before. This disorder can be due to infections or because of exposure to loud noises. The positive side is that an audiologist will be able to diagnose the issue and provide solutions, such as hearing aids.

It is important to have your 10-day-old baby examined by a pediatrician or a pediatric neurologist to determine the cause of the swelling on the head. They can assess if it's due to a normal variation or needs further evaluation and provide appropriate guidance based on the findings.
