Can speech and movement be restored post brain stroke?

My grandfather age is 69 one month before he has second brain stroke attack for 1 month he unable to speak and eat also unable to move tough

Answered on 23rd May '24

When someone has a stroke, it can affect their ability to speak, eat, and move. This happens because parts of the brain that control these things get damaged. It’s important for him to be monitored closely by medical professionals to provide proper care, support, and therapy to help him regain functions. Patience, love, and proper medical care are key in his recovery journey.

You are still dealing with that condition even after taking the prescribed medications. It is good to know the reason for your non-improvement. Your symptoms might be brought on by several causes such as a wrong dosage, an existing illness, or potential side effects of the medication. See your physician to reconsider your treatment strategy.

I have bilateral hippocampal hypertension Any treatment needed

Female | 17

Bilateral hippocampal hypertension refers to raised pressure on both sides of the hippocampus in the brain. This can be unveiled by memory failure, headache, or seizures. At other times, high blood pressure is the usual cause. One possible solution is to change one's lifestyle to include a healthier diet and fewer quiet periods. Medications may also be recommended to bring the pressure under control and alleviate the symptoms.

पुरुष | 19

A stroke is a nervous system problem that can cause symptoms like weakness, difficulty speaking, and confusion. It happens when the brain is starved of oxygen due to a blocked blood vessel or a burst blood vessel. Stroke treatment varies and may include medications, therapy, or surgery. The best chance of recovery is if you get to the hospital as soon as possible.

My wife has been recently diagnosed by one of neurologist a retinal migraine issue, she faces migraines headache in 2 or 3 months once only. Now the doctor has suggested few medicines which I think is affecting her mental health. She is prescribed with propranolol 25mg daily twice, topiramate 20 mg daily twice Due to this she always feel sleepy, dizziness, harsh behaviours, mood swings, lack of appetite, lack of focus, lack of confidence, feels awkward cannot stay awake, cannot use mobile for long time, headache affects her head daily in the evening mostly. She is using these medicine since two weeks, before she doesn't have these issue. She only had a migraine and she once had a spot in her right eye which goes after a week. But she has a small lump behind her ear which doctor mentioned it as a swellon nerve. Kindly please suggest is she getting correct treatment because her Condition is getting worse day by day in terms of mental health. She has a family history of migraine her mother and sisters.

Female | 34

Propranolol and topiramate sometimes result in symptoms such as drowsiness, lightheadedness, mood changes, and an inability to concentrate. You or she must discuss this with the neurologist who prescribed these drugs because they could fix this issue by adjusting dosages or prescribing different medications that would be effective against migraines without affecting mental stability. If the lump located at the back of her ear is not yet diagnosed then it should also get checked into by the doctor to find out if there might be any connection with other signs.

Paralysis of legs due to Bone tb Treatment is going on(6months) Reports ESR test suggests that the infection is very low now

Male | 47

It is a gradual process, and it might take some time to observe meaningful results. But the low ESR test is a good sign, therefore meaning that infection has been controlled. I recommend a neurologist consultation to assess the nature and origin of paralysis which can be treated accordingly.

UP AND DOWN TO THE TOILET 2 OR. 3 TIMES THROUGHOUT THOSE HOURS. ALSO BECAUSE OF THIS SHE GETS ALMOST SIX HOURS OF SLEEP ON A DAILY EVERY WEEKLY BASIS. AND. WHEN I TRY TO ENCOURAGE HER TO START A SLEEP ROUTINE 3 OR FOUR HOURS BEFORE 12:00 AM . SHE WOULD ALWAYS COME UP WITH AN EXCUSE WHEN I SAY IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT FOR REM SLEEP AND THE RECOVERY. PERIOD AND HER SAYING THERE'S IS NO. POINT PEOPLE WITH SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA. NEVER GO INTO A DEEP SLEEP TO BE ABLE TO GET. REM SLEEP. AND THE RECOVERY PERIOD BY. HER. SAYING. THAT. MAKING IT. SEEM. A daytime sleep schedule not only helps a patient with fibromyalgia to get better but is also of paramount importance to them to avoid sleeping after midnight. Sleep can aggravate or diminish pain, tiredness, and even exacerbations. Adjusting the sleep schedule 3-4 hours before midnight might be a good way to augment sleep quality. Convince your mother to give sleep a priority so that she can not only reduce what she is experiencing but also have better overall health.

I am 41 years old, since 1 year I feel dizzy, can't concentrate on any work, body feels weak, sometimes headache, forehead, head and eyes feel heavy.

Male | 41

You may be showing signs of stress, sleep deprivation or even not drinking enough water. When we are under pressure and worn out our bodies feel feeble and our heads become heavy. Rest well, take water regularly and have short breaks during work to unwind. Consider seeking further advice from a medical professional if these feelings persist.

But my memory issues will take how much time to resolve after Inter parenchymal bleed it's been already 2 months I haven't forgotten completely but I can't literally recall my past events and remember new events accordingly everything I miss out the dates and times

Male | 23

You are worried about your memory after bleeding within the brain. It is not uncommon for people to have these types of problems with their memories following such events. Some of the symptoms may involve having trouble remembering things that have occurred recently or forgetting appointments altogether; also clock watching could be difficult too. This can affect anyone at any age.
