Answered on 23rd May '24
Facial redness happens for many reasons. Sunburn, rosacea, or allergies can cause it. If it's really bad, you need to figure out why first. That helps find the best way to treat it. Treatments might be gentle skin products. Your dermatologist can give you medications to reduce inflammation too.

My wife is having rashes and itchiness from last 5 years. Whole body. Inside ears and eyes too.
Female | 34
Your wife may be suffering from a known ailment named eczema. Eczema is a skin disease that can cause patches and itching all over the body, including the ears and eyes. It happens when the skin doesn't function as a good barrier. Skin hydration is a key factor to always remember. One way to avoid allergies is by using mild soaps and non-irritating materials. If the symptoms do not go away, get checked by a dermatologist.

Female | 19
Athlete's foot, a common fungal skin illness, affects your feet. It could cause itchiness, discoloration, peeling, and odor. Keeping feet clean, dry (especially between toes), helps cure it. Use doctor-prescribed antifungal creams or powders diligently. Wear fresh socks, shoes daily. Avoid sharing footwear to prevent spreading infection.

I am 15 years old and I am really worrying about a spot I have near my penis and would really like to know what it is and if it will be ok
Male | 15
This spot could easily be a pimple or a skin irritation of a non-serious type. These spots may appear due to sweating, friction or blocked pores. Refrain from picking the spot to avoid getting an infection. If it continues or gets worse, do consult a dermatologist.

You should consult with a dermatologist regarding Accutane for cystic acne. Given your prolonged struggle with acne and its severity, Accutane may be a viable option. However, it's crucial to consider potential side effects and weigh them against the benefits. i am 28 years old female i recently satrted having minor acnes all over the body specially legs
Female | 28
Acne is typical and can be found in everyone. This stuff is the result of oil and dead skin cells blocking your hair follicles. The uplifting part is that you have complete control over the situation. Keep your skin clean, wear loose clothes, and use mild soap. If you are experiencing a lot of discomfort, you should consult a dermatologist for additional treatment.

I am a 39 year old woman and am having an issue with my skin on my chin for the last 2 weeks. After friction from making out with someone new. He did not have a beard. Maybe slight stubble but really not noticeable. My skin became raw and I put Vaseline on it and neosporin. After about a week acne started appearing. I changed my regimen to a salicylic acid ointment and moisturizer. It seems to help a bit but not a lot. My skin is less raw but still splotchy and red with acne. I have not ever struggled with skin issues. Should I keep up the acne treatment? Should I do something else? It peels and is uncomfortable (it stings with the ointment but once it dries it doesn’t hurt but it does bother me). I’m traveling in Brazil now but am from the US. Any help appreciated before I head home! I plan to see a dermatologist PA when I get back.
Female | 39
Your skin seems irritated by friction. The rawness, redness, and acne result from that. Using salicylic acid ointment helps acne. Continue applying it. Gently wash your skin, moisturize too. Consult a dermatologist for guidance.

Is psoriasis curable .how long does it take to cure . What are it’s symptoms . Which medicines can cure it.what are causes of psoriasis.is it infectious
Male | 26
Psoriasis is a skin condition that can't be cured but can be managed well. It causes red, scaly skin patches. These are often itchy or painful. Its exact cause is unknown. But it's thought to be linked to the immune system. Some medicines help control its symptoms. Like creams for the skin or pills taken by mouth. Psoriasis isn't contagious. You can't catch it from others. Working with a dermatologist is key. They'll help you find the treatment plan.

Aoa , I'm 22 years old and I'm having hair fall, I have a lot of pain in my head, always on top side, any good medicine or shampoo.
Male | 22
The hair loss can be because of stress, hormonal imbalances, inadequate nutrition levels, or medical issues. The importance of consulting a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment cannot be overstressed. Without being given a proper diagnosis, the application of over-the-counter shampoos and medications will only make it worse.

- Resistant acne and severe acne not responding to conventional treatments needs the consultation of a qualified dermatologist. Most of the times resistant acne has underlying hormonal imbalance which has to be diagnosed and addressed. Certain conditions like PCOS, insulin resistance, steroid abuse, certain drugs may be cause of severe acne. A dermatogist may advise certain blood investigations, to understand the cause behind acne and may prescribe drugs like Oral contraceptive pills, oral retinoids or antibiotics along with procedural treatment to treat the acne and long term resolution
- Genetic tone of skin cannot be changed. However tan or any other acquired skin pigmentation can be improved by topical creams, sunscreens etc. chemical peels, laser toning and other procedures can help in stubborn pigmentation

I Am 28 yr old. I get red marks on upper body(shoulders). Those are not painful and they get disappeared within 3 or 4 days.
Female | 28
Your issue might be dermatological, likely due to allergies, skin irritation, or insect bites. Fabrics or detergents used in washing could also be triggers. Try to identify what causes the red marks most often. If you notice a consistent reaction, consider avoiding the drug entirely. Consulting a dermatologist can help diagnose and treat the root cause effectively.

Very Itching scalpe, dandruff problem, hair fall issue
Female | 25
The combination of these symptoms might direct that you have a commonly occurring skin problem called seborrheic dermatitis. Health deterioration may result in the appearance of red, irritated skin, flaking of the skin, and hair loss. The chief drivers of these are oily skin, a yeast type that is a natural inhabitant of the skin, and hormones. Moreover, you can use dandruff shampoo that contains ketoconazole or coal tar. When you are bathing, don't go hard on your hair and make sure you don't sunlight your scalp because it can result in difficult and painful inflammation.

Acanthosis Nigricans is what you are suffering from, a skin condition that causes your neck to darken compared to the rest of your body. This may occur if you are obese or have diabetes. It is important to work on reducing your weight and controlling your blood sugar levels. A balanced diet, regular exercise, and maintaining the cleanliness of your skin can gradually improve this problem.
