What should I do about my chin comedones?
I'm a 18 year old female and have comedones on my face. I tried using Glyco-6 cream and it increased very much at certain part of my face, on my chin. What am I supposed to do?

Answered on 9th Jan '25
Comedones, which are often blackheads or whiteheads, can occur due to excess oil and dead skin cells clogging pores. It's not uncommon for certain products to initially worsen breakouts before improvement occurs. To manage this, consider gentle exfoliation and non-comedogenic products. Additionally, switching to a different treatment may help if your skin reacts negatively. It’s advisable to consult a dermatologist who can assess your skin type and recommend appropriate, tailored options.

A rash affecting your intimate areas may indicate a yeast or bacterial infection. This condition is widespread, so there's no need for embarrassment. For treatment, a doctor could recommend an antifungal cream or antibiotic ointment. Maintain cleanliness and dryness in the affected region. Wear loose-fitting garments. I am 16 years old and a female, I have noticed that there has been a white spot/bump on my tongue for the past four or five days. At first the bump hurt and I would bite it or play with it with my teeth and it would not stop hurting. Then On sunday night I drank a hot tea and it burnt my tongue. Now it feels like my tongue feels better but that spot feels like it is still irritated or burnt. The spot has not gotten bigger it has been the same size and my lymph nodes are not swollen. I haven’t experienced any fever/ flu like symptoms or unusual discharge.
Female | 16
You might have a canker sore, a harmless and common mouth ulcer. Canker sores can be painful and can come after biting your tongue or eating hot foods. They generally disappear in a week or two by themselves. You can use over-the-counter numbing gels or try rinsing your mouth with salt water to ease the discomfort. Stay away from spicy or acidic foods that can irritate the sore. If it doesn't get any better and if you have more issues, visit a dermatologist.

Female | 22
You appear to be suffering from a skin ailment that might be triggered by a fungal infection, usually manifested as itchiness, redness, or rashes. Causes such as moisture, heat, and friction may result in this condition. To lessen the body's discomfort, the area should be kept dry and an antifungal powder or cream available over the counter should be regarded. Moreover, wearing loose clothes can aid in lessening the discomfort. Nonetheless, it's vital to seek advice from a dermatologist if the signs persist or become more severe.

Most of the times resistant acne has underlying hormonal imbalance which has to be diagnosed and addressed. Certain conditions like PCOS, insulin resistance, steroid abuse, certain drugs may be cause of severe acne. Rash around genital area and pain
Male | 27
A rash around there can be caused by lots of things such as a fungal infection or even being allergic to the soap or laundry detergent you use. If you have this itchy rash, it might hurt too because the skin is raw from all the scratching. To make things better, try using mild unscented soap and wearing loose cotton underwear. If these suggestions don’t work then please see a dermatologist who can give you some proper advice on what to do next.

I am getting married in August. I have very big open pores. And as my skin is oily, I have some acne also. Will microdermabrasion treatment help clear all these and make the skin surface smooth?
Female | 30
For very big open pores, the oil secretion needs to be controlled, because if oil secretion is not controlled, the pores wont reduce. For oil correction using salicylic acid based face washes, avoiding hair oil are important measures. Apart from that micro-needling or micro-needling radiofrequency, CO2 Laser are better options than just dermabrasion though microdermabrasion might have little effect on open pores.

I am 18 years old teenager and I want to remove tanning from my whole body and I also want to reduce the melanin secretion in my body ..so please prefer me best kojic acid soap for daily use
Male | 18
Tanning is produced by the skin when it absorbs more sunlight. This is the process that involves melanin, a protein that protects the skin. To decrease tanning and melanin, try a kojic acid soap. This soap can decrease the melanin in your skin and thus brighten your skin's color. For best results, use it daily.

Hives seem to be your issue. Red, itchy spots appear on skin when histamine is released. This can happen due to allergies, stress, or infections. For relief, use antihistamines and apply cool compresses. But if hives continue, see a dermatologist.

I have had a reaction to the depo injection breaking out in spots in my hair side of face and neck and chest never had this before Been on and off the depo for ages
Female | 36
Such reactions can occur, including localized spots due to hormonal shifts. These adjustments might lead to variations in skin sensitivity or breakouts, particularly in the areas you mentioned. To manage this, keeping the affected skin clean and using a gentle moisturizer can be beneficial. If symptoms persist or worsen, I recommend reaching out to a dermatologist. They can assess your situation thoroughly and discuss potential alternatives or solutions tailored to your needs.

Can you wear acrylics nails for a tonsillectomy
Female | 15
Acrylic nails aren't recommended before tonsillectomy surgery. Those fake nails could harbor germs, making hand hygiene tricky. During tonsillectomy, doctors remove tonsils, often due to infections or breathing issues. Clean hands prevent surgical site infections, so natural nails are only for this procedure. Wait until you've recovered fully before getting acrylics again.

Good day doctor. My 3 months old baby had itchy blister-like rashes on her feet and other parts of her body. Ive been using triple action cream(anti-inflammatory,fungi and bacteria) it will dry up and new ones will erupt. Dome rashes look ringworm
Female | 3 months
Your little one may have eczema. This condition causes itchy rashes that look like blisters on the skin. It is often caused by dryness; however, there could also be other triggers such as irritants in soaps used during bathing the baby among others. Use mild soap when bathing them and moisturize their skin more often than usual. To relieve itching, wrap them lightly in clothes made from light fabrics like cotton. If these signs persist after considering these measures then don’t hesitate to seek help from a pediatrician.
