Answered on 8th Aug '24
Depression can strike without warning, bringing feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and excessive tears. It may be triggered by stressful events, genetic factors, or hormonal changes. It's important to confide in loved ones, exercise regularly, adopt healthy eating habits, and get enough sleep. Seeking guidance from a psychiatrist can also be invaluable.

I'm 20 years old student. I have been having suicidal thoughts since a year or two. I have had panic attacks before but since few days i am having several panic attacks in a single day. I always feel uneasy with a pain in chest having problem in breathing. I feel like crying and scared that it might happen again when I'm in front of public.
Female | 20
You might be having panic attacks which is overwhelming and scary. A person having panic attacks may feel many different things including chest pains, trouble breathing, or feeling out of control emotionally. But don’t worry because help is available — talk to someone about it. Reach out to a friend or speak with a therapist.

I am 20 year old female, I have depression for last 2 months , I have symptoms like panic attack at anytime, feel chest pain and feeling heartbeat , cold hands and feet , mood swings , headache , weakness, suicide thoughts , I masturbate everyday to reduce my depression, please help me to cure .
Female | 20
You should visit a psychiatrist or even a psychologist trained on mental health. While masturbation does serve to offer a short-term release, it is not necessarily an effective cure for depression.

Female | 22
Depression brings exhaustion, loss of pleasure, changes in appetite, sleep disturbances, and difficulty concentrating. Factors like genetics, life challenges, and imbalances in brain chemistry can contribute to depression. Therapy offers tools, medication stabilizes brain chemistry, and lifestyle changes can help adjust your path. Confiding in trusted individuals and seeking guidance from a psychiatrist are essential steps toward recovery.

A burning head and shivering is hard. These signs may come from your meds. Some pills can make muscles stiff and make you shake. Tell your doctor about these troubles - they might change your medicine to help. It's key to report new issues while on medication.

Hello i need to ask about PEth test. This month i have been drunk 3 times. How long do i have to wait in order to pass a PEth test? Also i have been drinking quite heavily in all these 3 times. 2 weeks sober in between the drinking occasions.
Male | 25
The PEth test looks for alcohol in your blood over a long time, not just one day like other blood tests. It is very important to drink lots of water, eat good food, and not drink any alcohol to help your body get better. It's a challenging process, but staying sober and taking good care of yourself can help lower your PEth levels more quickly.

What is the sides effects to this medicine of Setra 50mg?
Male | 18
Setra 50mg may give side effects sometimes. Feeling dizzy, headache, and nausea are common side effects. These often happen when you start taking the medicine. However, your body adjusts, and they go away. If side effects bother you, talk to your psychiatrist. They might change the dosage or suggest ways to manage symptoms. I am an 18 year old female and have recently been prescribed 25mg of setraline. However i haven't started taking it yet as i didn't feel i got to ask the questions that concerned me about starting this medication and talk about the side effects before committing to this medication.
Female | 18
Sertraline is often a drug to treat feelings of anxiety or depression. Undoubtedly, nausea, headaches, or tiredness can be among the common side effects. But these typically go away by themselves after a short period. If you notice anything that concerns you or if you have any unusual symptoms, speaking with your psychiatrist is a helpful thing to do.

Anxiety, depression, and stress make life difficult. Feeling worried, sad, overwhelmed - it's common but important to take care. Doctors prescribe antidepressants, and anti-anxiety medicines; they assist. Talking helps too; chat with someone you trust or a therapist. Self-care matters; be kind to yourself.

My cousin is suffering from schizophrenia. He used to have severe headaches, personality changes and he hear voices. He only use paracetamol for headaches but no cure. Please prescribe me medicine for headache.
Male | 18
It is of no less than significant to note that the problem of headache can be professionally diagnosed not only due to the lack of sleep but also the fact of day-to-day stress, or the emotional malaise. Lymph node noise is one of many common signs occurring both in the relative and a person undergoing the same condition. Schizophrenics may experience headaches. The use of paracetamol won't solve the question as the case is deeper. It's always a good idea to visit a physician to be treated correctly.

can i take propranolol before parachuiting
Male | 24
I would think twice before using propranolol before parachuting. The reason for my concern is that propranolol can slow down heart rate as well as blood pressure levels. Quick blood flow is necessary for sufficient oxygen transportation in the body since parachuting involves falling from a high altitude. Taking propranolol might lead to feeling faint or light-headed. This could be highly unsafe while engaging in such an activity. Therefore, refraining from using this drug before going skydiving would be best.

This is a tough situation with the 14-year-old child you're dealing with. It appears he is suffering from aggressive behavior, outbursts, and a lack of control over his emotions. These symptoms can be caused by various reasons, including emotional distress, underlying mental health issues, or neurological conditions. As he is already seeing a neurologist, it is crucial to maintain communication with the healthcare team to assess and treat the condition properly. I am using inderal 10mg twice and escitalophram 10 mg daily for anxiety from last 1 year.. Now i am good last time doctor said that we will reduce yout dose and then gradually quit this medication. Now iam far away from city and cannot go there kindly suggest me how to reduce dose
Male | 22
I advise against abruptly discontinuing any medication without consulting your doctor, especially when managing anxiety. Abruptly stopping drugs such as Inderal and Escitalopram can lead to serious withdrawal symptoms. It is preferable to seek guidance from a psychiatrist or mental health specialist for a proper tapering schedule to minimize potential adverse effects. It's crucial to follow your doctor's instructions and regularly update them about your condition.
