Why is my period missing? Risk of unwanted pregnancy?
Period missing. Unwanted pregnancy

Social Obstetrics And Gynecologist
Answered on 20th Feb '25
Missing a menstrual cycle can be concerning, and it’s important to understand that a variety of factors can contribute, such as stress, hormonal imbalances, or changes in weight or exercise. You may also experience signs like nausea, fatigue, or breast tenderness, indicating a possible pregnancy. If this situation is unclear or if you’re facing a potential unplanned pregnancy, I recommend taking a home pregnancy test for clarity. Regardless of the outcome, speaking with a gynecologist can provide personalized guidance and support to explore options and ensure your well-being.

Burning sensation while urinating and cloudy urine after anal sex
Male | 17
If you experience a burning sensation while urinating and see cloudy urine after anal sex, it may be indicative of an infection. The bacteria might have been transferred to the urethra through the anus during the process. The most advantageous approach is to drink gallons of water and visit a doctor for a thorough checkup and proper treatment.

My wife aged 64 years is suffering from fibroid and other related issues like frequent urination particularly at night. Earlier, she was treated for ligament problem in legs. Still, she has minor problem in legs. We immediately want her treatment for fibroid and frequent urination problems.
Female | 64 years.
Your wife may have some issues that are linked to the fibroids, one of the symptoms being frequent urination as now and then it comes because of these fibroids. A fibroid in the uterus might compress the bladder, which results in frequent bathroom visits even at night. There is a wide range of ways of treatment from using pills to surgeries such as myomectomy or hysterectomy depending on the symptoms and her state of health. You must consult a gynecologist for a detailed examination.

I have last period on 19 jan and then done sex on 29 jan unprotected so chances of pregnancy increase ?
Female | 21
Given your cycle, ovulation may have occurred around late January, which means there could be a chance of pregnancy from unprotected intercourse. Common early signs of pregnancy include missed periods, nausea, or changes in breasts. If you have concerns, consider taking a home pregnancy test about a week after your missed period for accurate results. Regardless of the outcome, I recommend speaking with a gynecologist. They can provide personalized advice and assurance tailored to your situation.

Female | 23
Missing periods for 5 days may seem worrisome, yet there could be various causes. Stress often disrupts menstrual cycles. Rapid weight fluctuations also impact hormones regulating periods. Additionally, hormonal imbalances unrelated to stress or weight can occasionally throw off your cycle. If irregular cycles persist, consult a gynecologist.

I have 35 days cycle when will be the exact ovulation date or fertile window?
Female | 30
In a cycle lasting 35 days, ovulation typically occurs around day 21. The fertile window generally spans from about day 18 to day 22, meaning you have several days to conceive. Signs of ovulation can include increased cervical mucus, slight cramping, and breast tenderness. Factors such as hormonal balance and stress may influence your cycle. Tracking your cycle closely can help, and using ovulation predictor kits might also be beneficial. If you have concerns or irregular cycles, please consider consulting a gynecologist for personalized guidance. They can provide tailored advice and support for your reproductive health.

Is it normal to have a lump in right side of breast from teenage in the age of 14-15 till now?
Female | 21
It's normal to have a breast lump during your teenage years. These lumps are usually caused by hormonal fluctuations and are generally harmless. If the lump is not causing pain, redness, or changes in size, there's often no need for concern. However, it's important to mention the lump to a gynecologist at your next check-up to ensure everything is okay.

I had an intercourse on oct 24th which only includes anal penetration and rubbing at that region. There was no direct contact between penis and vagina. I had bleeding on Nov 8th dec 6th jan 3rd and Feb 2nd and the flow seemed to be normal. Also did a urine pregnancy test on Dec 30 showed negative results and out of my anxiety did an transabdomen ultrasound scan at a clinic on Jan 27 which is above 13 weeks and they said no pregnancy is found. But I'm still anxious and can't convince my self about no pregnancy occurred. My doubt is even if there is a cryptic pregnancy and not found in tests would it have been identified in scan when done around 13 weeks after intercourse? Can it completely rule out pregnancy even in cases of retroverted uterus. Is a transabdomen scan is reliable at 13 weeks to identify pregnancy. Please answer patiently.
Male | 20
It's understandable to feel anxious, but based on your ultrasound and negative pregnancy tests, the likelihood of pregnancy is very low. A transabdominal ultrasound at 13 weeks is generally reliable, and a retroverted uterus would not significantly affect detection. Bleeding can have various causes, including hormonal changes or stress. If anxiety persists, I encourage you to consult a gynecologist for further assessment and peace of mind. They can provide thorough evaluations to address your concerns.

It's completely normal to experience various signs when expecting a baby, such as feeling unusually fatigued, experiencing nausea, or having breast sensitivity. Frequent restroom visits and shifts in appetite can also occur. Sometimes, mood changes and mild discomfort might arise. These sensations are generally linked to hormonal alterations. It's essential to prioritize self-care, like maintaining a balanced diet and resting adequately. However, if you're feeling uncertain or these symptoms persist, I encourage you to reach out to a gynecologist. They can provide personalized guidance and support to ensure your health and well-being during this time.

The sharp aches in your lower belly could mean endometriosis. This happens when the uterus lining grows outside, causing pain and heavy flow. Seeing a gynecologist is key for diagnosis and treatment.

Mam mere periods 22 June ko aaye the aur abhi tak nhi aaye hai aaj 2nd August ho gya kya kre
Female | 20
If you were expecting your periods on June 22nd but it's now August 2nd, I can imagine how worried you might be. A few of the most frequent reasons why periods are delayed are stress, sudden weight changes, hormonal imbalances, and even changes in routine. Are you now suffering any of the symptoms like abnormal cramps or mood swings? Stay calm and allow it some more time. If your period still hasn't come after a couple of days, talking to a gynecologist would be a great idea to rule out any possible problems.

Female | 30
From the tests and symptoms you mentioned, you likely have an ectopic pregnancy. A fertilized egg is said to be ectopic when it attaches itself elsewhere in the body, usually in a fallopian tube. If not treated, this could become dangerous. I think it would be best if you could share your worries with a gynecologist once more so they can do more tests and give appropriate care.

Female | 30
Understanding why C-section deliveries, as well as hymenoplasty, are performed is acceptable. After a cesarean section, recovery is individual. Sometimes women can be thinking of hymenoplasty due to private reasons, which is not something alarming to have. Symptoms like uncomfortable or uneasiness, because of the changes in the post-debility, can occur. There are ways such as consulting with a well-trained surgeon to talk about your condition and the way you can go. For advice regarding your specific situation, please ask a gynecologist
