It is not uncommon for the menstrual cycle to be longer than the average period. The different reasons that cause this may include stress, hormone imbalances, or some medical conditions. To get the appropriate mapping to your condition, seek help from a gynecologist. They may suggest pills that will help make your period more regular and also treat any other problems that may be there.

I m 19 year old female.....i had unprotected sex 8 days ago and taken i-pill within 24 hours will it cause any harm to me or...will my periods be delayed....i m not sure...we did used condom but somehow it got loosened and came out...but to clear my doubt i had taken i-pill

Female | 19

Taking the emergency contraceptive pill called i-pill within 24 hours of having sex without protection against pregnancy. If you have a delayed menstrual cycle after using the drug, do not worry it is a usual thing. Nausea, fatigue feelings, and changes in the menstrual period are some common side effects of using this drug. So next time always ensure you are safe by using protection.

I am using vaginal pessaries since 3 days as I have yeast infection. But today I got my periods. Can i still use vaginal pessaries Or i should stop using it??

Female | 22

While menstruating, it's fine to continue using vaginal pessaries. Yeast infections may cause discomfort like itching, burning, and abnormal discharge. Pessaries deliver medication directly where needed, treating the infection. Follow usage instructions for pessaries during your period.

I have taken emergency pill yesterday and today i noticed white creamy discharge do i have to worry about this?

Female | 17

It is a common side effect of the emergency pill and its likely a normal vaginal discharge that occurs due to hormonal fluctuations. It's mostly similar to the discharge experienced during the normal menstrual cycle.

Consult a medical specialist near you for a suitable birth control pill considering your allergies. They can recommend alternatives or nonhormonal options like copper IUDs or barrier methods if required.

My daughter had unprotected sex yesterday at noon and took an Unwanted 72 pill today at noon and just after taking the pill in her boyfriend's house, they had unprotected sex again. What are her chances of getting pregnant and how can she avoid pregnancy now? Please note that her periods are irregular and very delayed i.e. in a cycle of 3-4 months and we visited a doctor for that. Her last period was in mid December.

Female | 21

The pill reduces the chances of pregnancy, but it is not 100% effective. SSo there is still a risk of pregnancy. Its difficult to determine the timing of ovulation and fertility. please condult your doctor for evaluation.

I want to know if my hymen is still intact

Female | 17

I suggest that you make an appointment to see a gynecologist who will be able to look at your hymen and tell if it is intact or not. However, it is important to remember that the presence or absence of a hymen is not the only factor in determining virginity since several factors can lead to the hymen tearing or not being present.

Female | 32

Consult a breast specialist or a gynecologist who specializes in breast health. They'll assess your symptoms & conduct a clinical examination to determine the appropriate course of action. If required further diagnostic tests, such as a mammogram or ultrasound also can be done.

I used an emergency contraception about a month and a half ago, and found my self in a situation where I need to use one again now. In February I had a miscarriage and I’m just wondering how many times I can use emergency contraception, and if it’s okay to even after having a miscarriage. I have used probably about 6 in my life. Is there a limit to how many a woman can take? Will it affect my gynecological health?

Female | 21

Emergency contraception is intended for occasional and emergency use, not as a regular form of birth control. While there is no strict limit on how many times emergency contraception can be used, it's important to understand that it is not as effective or reliable as regular contraception methods.

Repeated use of emergency pills can disrupt hormonal balance in your body and cause irregularities in your menstrual cycle. It's recommended to speak personally with a gynec about more reliable and appropriate forms of contraception that can better suit your needs and provide ongoing protection.
