A cyst is an enclosed sac filled with fluid. It forms under the skin as a lump. Cysts may feel tender, and they grow slowly over time. Doctors should examine unusual bumps to identify them. Most cysts are harmless, but removal might help if it bothers you or keeps growing. If it doesn't cause issues, leaving it alone is also okay. However, getting it checked by a dermatologist provides peace of mind.

A swollen area on one side of your face signals a problem. You could have hurt that side by being hit. An infection like tooth decay may cause it. Face swelling also happens with allergies. To ease the swelling, put a cold pack on it. Take over-the-counter pain medicine. If the swelling doesn't go away, see a dermatologist. They'll find out what's wrong. The right treatment can fix it.

The dark skin tone might stem from sluggish blood flow. As for the shaking and ear ringing, those could be linked to stress or fatigue from all that hard work. Remember to pause during those long shifts, try some relaxation exercises, and nourish yourself properly. If the issues persist, don't hesitate to consult a dermatologist

Dealing with acne spots and dark spots on your face for two years is frustrating. Consider using azelaic acid: safe for most people. A 10% concentration is effective. It reduces acne breakouts and fades discoloration. Use it daily by applying a thin layer after cleansing. Complement with sunscreen and moisturizer.

You have a condition called a subungual hematoma. Small blood vessels under the nail break. This causes the skin to turn black. Trauma, even minor, often causes this. It is usually harmless and resolves by itself. But if it bothers you, a dermatologist can drain the blood. Don't pick at it to avoid infections. Keep the area clean.

When skin's injured or stretched, pores enlarge, and scars emerge, leaving unflattering marks. Although pores remain forever, their appearance diminishes. Laser treatments, chemical peels unclog, smooth for improvement. Chicken pox scars too fade with similar remedies. Still, seek a dermatologist's expertise. Razor bumps, an issue you might face. Hair regrows into skin post-shaving - red, inflamed bumps result. It causes acne-like breakouts. Sharp razor use helps. Shave hair's growth direction. Gentle cleanser aids afterwards. If it persists, see dermatologist.

Risk of HIV from Cut Contact with Blood on Cloth

I had a small cut on my hand that came into contact with blood on clothe. I didn't see any blood on my cut afterward or any wetness. Could I be infected with HIV?

HIV does not spread easily from dried blood. The virus dies quickly outside the body. A small cut touching dried blood is very unlikely to cause infection. Unbroken skin protects against HIV entering the body. Being cautious with blood is wise. However, in this case, the chance of getting HIV is extremely low. It's still good to watch for any unusual symptoms. But you probably have nothing to worry about!
