It may be that you are having a case of the common cold. The symptoms you mentioned, like the sore throat, headache, swollen nose and eyes, and fever mostly at night, are typical ones of a cold. Colds are caused by viruses spread when the person close to you is coughing or sneezing. Get plenty of rest, drink fluids, and take over-the-counter medicines to help with the symptoms. If you are not feeling better in a few days, you can visit an ENT specialist.

Your throat symptoms have persisted. Scratchy, burning, dry cough - a year is alarming. Many cause exist allergies, dry air, and acid reflux. First, try drinking more water, using a humidifier, and avoiding smoke. If no improvement, see an ENT doctor. They'll evaluate, and treat the underlying issue.

Bilateral Tinnitus: Permanent or Temporary?

I got into a car crash back in April 2022 when I was 17 years old. I took my eyes off the road was fiddling with the car radio, my head was turned towards the right and I crash the passenger side of my car into a telephone pole and all the airbags deployed. I didn’t get any facial or body injuries. I got diagnosed with bilateral tinnitus from an ENT doctor but they didn’t find any damage when they did a physical examination. I did a hearing test and I have a little bit of hearing loss. Based on my hearing test is my tinnitus permanent or temporary?

Should I recheck movable cervical lymph nodes after FNAC results?

Hello doctor, so in 2022 I was diagnosed with typhoid in March. It was a 15-day treatment course. I made a full recovery in 1 month. Then, in July, I found 2 lymph nodes in my neck (level Il & IV), each less than 1cm. They were movable. The FNAC result was left cervical small swelling, reactive lymphoid hyperplasia. The lower one shrank a bit with meds, but today I noticed both nodes are still there and movable, just like 2 years ago. Do l need to get it checked again or is it normal?

Lymph nodes are small defenders in your body that help fight infections. Sometimes, they stay a little swollen even after the infection is gone. In your case, the nodes are small and movable, which is a positive sign. Since they haven’t changed in size over the past two years and aren’t causing any issues, it’s likely just your body’s way of managing past infections. However, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on them. If they grow, become painful, or new symptoms appear, it's best to get them checked again for peace of mind.

A sore throat, stuffy ears, cough, and frequent nose blowing suggest you have a common cold or viral infection. These result from your body battling the virus. You may be having a condition called oral thrush. It is the result of a fungus that multiplies in your mouth. Symptoms include a dry throat, white spots on the back of your throat, feeling sick when eating, and pain when eating dry foods. To help, try eating soft foods and avoid sugary stuff. Drink enough water and practice good mouth hygiene. If it doesn't get better, visit an ENT specialist.

You may be suffering from an ear infection. The infection itself is responsible for the pain and swelling in your face. Ear infections develop as a result of the bacteria or virus that infects your ear. On one hand, they may disappear on their own without treatment; on the other hand, if the problem is serious, you should take medicine prescribed by an ENT specialist. Applying a warm cloth to your ear is a good way to soothe the pain for now.

Vocal nodules are injuries akin to calluses on the vocal cords that can be caused by either overusing your voice or speaking improperly. The result can be a hoarse or unclear voice. Fortunately, the result of the cancer test is negative. A voice therapist, avoiding vocal strain, and the rest of the voice can help you improve your voice.

Why Do I Have Persistent Ear Symptoms After Cold?

Am a 27 Y/O female. I got a cold about 2 weeks ago and I’m having a hard time getting over it. I still have wheezing, a wet cough, extreme fatigue, and phlegm, but my main issue is that my ear became very “stuffy” and it felt like there was fluid In Them. I wake up with drainage, and they pop often. I have pictures of my inner ear to share for more detail. I had tubes when I was young, and I had a very traumatic accident happen while they were in place, and my ears have been a pain ever since. I get extremely painful pressure when I fly to the point where I cry the whole flight if I don’t have my special ear plugs. And heaven forbid I get an ear infection. I cry anytime I have to put In ear drops

Oh i'm so sorry to hear your symptoms. It sounds like there is a lot going on in the ear canal and the tube connecting the ear to the nose which we call- The eustachian tube. Please visit your nearest ent who will do an endoscopy of the ear, get the hearing and e tube function evaluation and assess for chronic issues to ensure it doesn't get worse with time.

You likely have an infection in your throat, resulting in pain and fever. Since erythromycin didn't help, take acetaminophen to reduce fever, and Tylenol for throat discomfort. These medications are safe during breastfeeding. Drink plenty of fluids. Rest sufficiently. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist, for further evaluation.

Why is my ear still crackling after syringing?

My left ear has been crackling for a few months now and i got told by a nurse it was blocked and i got my ear syringed two days ago and i was hoping that would stop my ear crackling but it's still crackling after two days since i got my ear syringed is that normal?

Though it's a good thing you got your ear syringed, the ear still crackles which is totally normal. Occasionally, the sensation will last a little while after the procedure. Ear crackling could be the result of the presence of fluid in the middle ear or what is called Eustachian tube dysfunction. Sometimes, you can make yawning or chewing gum movements to relieve the discomfort. If it doesn't get better, see your ENT doctor for more advice.

I am experiencing symptoms including a runny nose, swollen eyes, ear pressure, sudden sneezing, and occasional breathing problems. These issues began around 2009, when I was in matric, and persist today, August 23, 2024. I have tried various anti-allergy medications such as Baydal, Fexet D, Telfast D, and Mytika over the years, but they only provide temporary relief. This week (August 20, 2024), I used Fexet D, Azomax for 3 days, and steamed with Vicks for 3 days. Despite these efforts, the sneezing and nasal congestion (alternating between the left and right side) remain unchanged. In the morning and at night, I sometimes notice a white fluid dripping from my head to my nose, and it occasionally affects my chest, throat, and eyes. Between 2018 and 2020, I visited the NIH Allergy Centre, where I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. But i think due to long travelling these vaccine are expire 16 Hrs travelling.and It also does not Effects me.Due to the COVID-19 Travelling and distance, I was unable to travel from Rajanpur to Islamabad and I stoped this vaccine each week In 2020 . and I believe my vaccine may have expired. However, the (antibiotics+Antiallergic) medicine treatment did not provide long relief. which could be contributing to the ongoing issues. It appears you are going through allergic rhinitis, which is responsible for your runny nose, swollen eyes, ear pressure, sneezing, and breathing difficulties. These symptoms have been persisting for a long time despite trying different medications. The allergy shots that you are receiving may have expired, thus not giving you enough relief. Seek consultation from an allergist to review your treatment plan and consider updating your allergy shots to manage your symptoms effectively.
