Hi, my friend and I are traveling to Delhi towards the end of November and since we are there we are thinking of going for a hair transplant. Both of us are probably type II/type III Bald, we would like to know how many grafts will be required for us and what would be the cost for each procedure? And if you could also advise how long the entire process will take from pre to post-surgery so that we can book our flights and hotels accordingly. Last but not least if clinics accept Visa/Master cards as we like to travel with light cash.

The requirement of grafts will depend on your baldness level. As you have mentioned the level of baldness, you and your friend might need 1000- 1500 grafts.

  1. Now, the cost of hair transplant depends on various parameters which include:
    • Number of grafts required.
    • Experience of the surgeon.
    • Technique used.
    • Cost per session.
    • The technology used for the treatment.
    • Clinic.

  2. For your reference, I have mentioned the per graft cost based on the techniques:
    • Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) - Rs.30 to Rs.45 per graft.
    • Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) - Rs.45 to Rs.50 per graft.
    • Robotic Hair Transplant - Rs.65 to Rs.100 per graft.
    • Direct Hair Implantation (DHI)- Rs.50- Rs.65 per graft.
    • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) - Rs.3000 to Rs.15000 per session.

  3. Generally, for 1000-1500 grafts, 1-2 sittings are needed. But for the safer side, we would like to suggest you, plan your trip for at least 10 days just because you might have to visit the doctor for further follow-ups post-surgery. Basically, every clinic does not avail the facility of online payment. Hence, you need to choose the clinic accordingly.

Hope our answer helps you. Our page will help you find relevant doctors & clinics to help with your concern - Hair Transplant Surgery doctors in Delhi.

Hello, In stage II colon cancer, cancer may have gone to nearby tissues, but they may have not spread to the lymph nodes. The treatment options for colon cancer in stage II depends upon various factors such as:

  1. Size of the tumor
  2. How far the tumor has spread
  3. The overall health of the patient

However, we have listed below the treatment options for stage II colon cancer which may be as follows:

  1. Surgery: to remove the section of the colon containing cancer (partial colectomy) along with nearby lymph nodes may be the only treatment needed.
  2. Chemotherapy: But you brother may also need adjuvant chemotherapy (chemo after surgery) if there is a higher risk of cancer coming back because of certain factors such as:
  • Cancer looks very abnormal (is high grade) when viewed under a microscope.
  • Cancer has grown into nearby blood or lymph nodes.
  • The surgeon could not remove at least 12 lymph nodes due to some risk factors.
  • Cancer was found in or near the margin (edge) of the removed tissue, meaning that some cancer may have been left behind.
  • Cancer has obstructed the colon.
  • Cancer caused a hole in the wall of the colon.

We recommend you discuss with your oncologist regarding the pros and cons of chemo including how much it might reduce your brother's risk of recurrence and what the likely side effects will be. On the following page we have listed the best oncologists from Chennai for you: Oncologists in Chennai. We hope this information helps you.

Hello Sathymoorthy, The treatment for any cancer always depends on the age of the patient, stage of cancer, associated comorbidities, and patient's general condition. After a routine blood test, endoscopy, biopsy, Barium swallow test, EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), CT SCAN, PET scan are done. Once the type of cancer and the stage of cancer is evaluated the treatment is planned. The treatment includes surgery that is the removal of the affected part. Sometimes chemo is done prior and after to reduce the size of the tumour. After surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Photodynamic therapy (In this non surgical procedure doctor injects a special substance into the esophagus making cells extra sensitive to light and then with help of an endoscope that has a laser at the end, the surgeon destroys cancer cells by burning them) are given as per doctors clinical expertise and patient's health. Very important is to be a part of the rehabilitation group. They will guide the patient and help him to handle the mental trauma person suffers due to cancer, will help through the treatment and follow up with professional help. Please consult an oncologist and let him evaluate the case and give you the best of treatment. Here we have listed a few best cancer hospitals in Chennai: 1.) Adyar Cancer Institute (Government Hospital). 2.) Apollo Cancer Institute (Private Hospital). 3.) Christian Medical College and Hospital (Charitable Hospital). 4.) Royapettah Government Hospital (Government Hospital). 5.) Gleneagles Global Hospital (Private Hospital). Wish your father a speedy recovery. Hope our answer helps you.
