Hello Sathymoorthy, The treatment for any cancer always depends on the age of the patient, stage of cancer, associated comorbidities, and patient's general condition. After a routine blood test, endoscopy, biopsy, Barium swallow test, EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), CT SCAN, PET scan are done. Once the type of cancer and the stage of cancer is evaluated the treatment is planned. The treatment includes surgery that is the removal of the affected part. Sometimes chemo is done prior and after to reduce the size of the tumour. After surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Photodynamic therapy (In this non surgical procedure doctor injects a special substance into the esophagus making cells extra sensitive to light and then with help of an endoscope that has a laser at the end, the surgeon destroys cancer cells by burning them) are given as per doctors clinical expertise and patient's health. Very important is to be a part of the rehabilitation group. They will guide the patient and help him to handle the mental trauma person suffers due to cancer, will help through the treatment and follow up with professional help. Please consult an oncologist and let him evaluate the case and give you the best of treatment. Here we have listed a few best cancer hospitals in Chennai: 1.) Adyar Cancer Institute (Government Hospital). 2.) Apollo Cancer Institute (Private Hospital). 3.) Christian Medical College and Hospital (Charitable Hospital). 4.) Royapettah Government Hospital (Government Hospital). 5.) Gleneagles Global Hospital (Private Hospital). Wish your father a speedy recovery. Hope our answer helps you. Stomach Cancer ke patient ko elaz kiya h
Female | 52
Treatment for stomach cancer includes surgery to remove tumors, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and potentially immunotherapy. The specific treatment plan depends on factors like the cancer's stage and the patient's overall health.
Palliative care is used to manage symptoms, and experimental treatments are done. The choice of treatment will be determined by your oncologist team, consulting with the patient.

My brother had gone Whipple surgery but cist was showing in pet scan
Male | 41
Post-surgery, fluid collections resembling cysts often occur harmlessly on scans. Typically, these dissipate independently without causing symptoms. However, if the cyst triggers symptoms or expands, consulting your oncologist ensures everything is well.

My aunt got a tumor in the kidney in 2014 and found cancer. She was 35 at that time. Since then, she has been surviving with only the right kidney. She is a diabetic patient too. Last month diagnosed with some abnormality on her other kidney too. Though it was nothing severe and was treated with medicine. But we are worried that if the other kidney also gets affected, what are her survival chances?
Having only one kidney does not affect the quality of life to a very high extent, but any disease or disorder of the remaining kidney can be fatal and will require immediate treatment. The most important thing is such a scenario is regular follow ups with nephrologist and routine investigations such as blood tests and ultrasonography tests. This improves and also increases the chances of survivals.

Female | 27
It is likely that the node in your armpit is an enlarged lymph node. This can happen due to infections or other medical conditions. You need to see a specialist who will diagnose the underlying cause and take appropriate measures. Sometimes, an oncologist or an infectious disease specialist has to be referred to.

I want to know about Triple-negative breast cancer as our doctor hinted that my aunt has signs of this specific type of breast cancer.
Female | 57
The term triple-negative breast cancer means that the cancer cells do not have estrogen or progesterone receptors and does not make too much of the protein called HER2. ( therefore the cells test "negative" on all 3 tests.)
Triple-negative breast cancer has less treatment options available than other types of invasive breast cancer. The reason being the cancer cells do not have enough estrogen or progesterone receptors or HER2 protein for hormone therapy or targeted drugs to work.
Treatment options are chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery mainly. But consulting clinician on time and starting the treatment is important. Regular follow up with doctor with lifestyle modifications and counselling will help. Consult an oncologist.
Hope our answer helps you.

Hi. My mother has been sick for a while, she has a swallowing problem. Her Neck CT Scan suggested a lesion in the hypopharynx that extends to the cervical esophagus. Pathological correlation needed. Please advise me on what exactly needs to be done further.
Sir this requires a biopsy first and then treatment which is most likely going to be chemotherapy combined with radiation. For more details you can visit best oncologist in delhi.

My nephew has a form of cancer in the form of a lump above the rib cage, which has now affected his lung. Is there a cure for this type of cancer? The doctors said that he needs marrow so what you think please answer me quickly.
Male | 12
Without knowing more about the type and stage of cancer he has, it's difficult to say much about his particular case. Bone marrow transplantation is done to treat some types of cancer, particularly those that affect the blood and bone marrow, like leukemia and lymphoma. So if the doctors have said so, you must follow. If yoou're cncerned you may take a second opinion from oncologists in India.
