I did lip filler today at around 1.00 P.M. and when I felt pain while eating two hours after that , I took Advil gel. I noticed the swelling and bruising are much more than the last time and then i read that it is not recommended to take certain pain killers after lip filler. what can happen ? and after how many hours or days the swelling and bruising will disappear? Thank you

Answered on 8th July '24

Using pain medicine such as Advil gel can increase the size and color of swollen areas around the mouth because of lip injections. These drugs can worsen bleeding or inflammation. For this reason, physicians recommend avoiding them after any surgery. Patients need to know that it takes almost one week for their faces to look normal again after having had fillers done; during which they should ice packs put on affected areas to reduce puffiness. Wait  7-10 days before seeing them get better so don’t worry too much now.

I had a breast reduction and double liposuction 8 days ago. if I smoke weed today will that mess with my healing badly? I still have sutures in and like partially opens insisions you know

Answered on 9th Aug '24

It's important not to smoke weed after a breast reduction and liposuction. Healing can be affected by this which may cause a slow healing process or more risks for infection. Oxygen flow will decrease when you smoke marijuana preventing proper tissue healing in turn leads to your body not getting enough oxygen that it needs for proper healing process.

When can i wear a waist trainer after tummy tuck?

Answered on 23rd May '24

The time frame for wearing a waist trainer post a tummy tuck operation may differ according to an individual’s healing and advice of your surgeon. Usually patients are told to wait until they have recovered well enough from the surgery which may take several weeks. It’s important to rely on your surgeon regarding when you should return to activity such as wearing compression garments in order not too disturb the healing process. With your surgeon’s approval, a compression garment or waist trainer can give support, reduce swelling and encourage proper contouring.

How long after tummy tuck can i walk up stairs?

Answered on 23rd May '24

After tummy tuck, the time to return home and when resuming activities such as walking up stairs may differ greatly from one individual to another. Usually patients are advised not to engage in heavy physical activities such as climbing stairs within the first weeks following surgery for proper healing. Surgeons usually tell patients to wait for the necessary strength, mobility and clearance during their follow-ups. Following the specific post-operative instructions given by your surgeon is critical, and you should resume each activity slowly as guided by their recommendations. Recovery experiences can vary from one person to the other, and that is why you should seek advice – especially from your surgeon ```

How to treat breakouts after chemical peel

Answered on 23rd May '24

Gently caring for the skin after a chemical peel will treat breakouts. Ensure the treated area remains clean and does not cause irritation by use of a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser. Apply a calming and hydrating cream to keep skin moistures balanced. Do not touch or break the pimples to avoid irritation and scarring. Consult your dermatologist to get personalized advice on post-peel care and perhaps altering your skincare regimen in order to manage breakouts appropriately.

Tip of nose still swollen 1 year after rhinoplasty, what to do?

Answered on 23rd May '24

Swelling of the tip is common while one recovers from rhinoplasty but if it persists a year or so after surgery then you should see your surgeon for follow up. Recovery periods may differ, however major swelling at this point is rare. They will sometimes recommend further time during which natural resolution takes place, or in some instances suggested interventions to take care of persistent swelling. Needless to say, regular communication with your surgeon will allow you for the most complete understanding of how things progress postoperatively and what is possibly wrong.

Can cartilage move after rhinoplasty?

Answered on 23rd May '24

After the process of rhinoplasty, it involves positioning or reshaping cartilage in your nose to get that aesthetic look. Although the cartilage itself does not “move” in a way that bones can, modifications made during rhinoplasty surgery may produce quite different appearances. Cartilage can be shaped and anchored into a new place during surgery but after healing is completed, it rarely changes its position. However, problems such as formation of scar tissue or alterations in the skin thickness can affect its appearance with time. Any inquiries concerning postoperative changes should be posed to the surgeon, who will shed light on how exactly this or that technique is carried out and what long-term results can occur.

When can i wear jeans after tummy tuck?

Answered on 23rd May '24

After tummy tuck, it is usually recommended to avoid tight-waisted jeans in the first weeks of healing. Stick to loose-fitting and comfortable clothing like sweatpants or elastic waist pants, which will help reduce abdominal area pressure. Your surgeon will give specific guidelines on when you can start wearing regular clothing, such as jeans. It is important to follow their advice in order for the healing process to be successful and avoid possible complications. Individual recoveries may differ, so ask your surgeon for personalized advice based on how you are healing and the particulars of your tummy tuck.

When can i smile after rhinoplasty?

Answered on 23rd May '24

Typically, after rhinoplasty you can begin to smile a bit gently in several days but the first steps should be very careful and soft. Swelling and healing tissues may be a reason for stiffness and discomfort while smiling in the first week or two. When swelling subsides and recovery advances, smiling will be easier to do. It is important to stick to your surgeon’s tailored recommendations since recovery also might differ from person to person and depending on how intensively the surgery was. It is usually the case that soon after several weeks normal facial expressions; even smiling becomes easier and more comfortable.

Answered on 23rd May '24

Hair transplant is one of the most effective and commonly chosen options for addressing baldness in the crown area of the scalp. Whether it is the right option for you depends on various factors, including your individual circumstances, preferences, and the extent of your hair loss. Talk to a hair transplant surgeon in your area. You can also opt for non-surgical options for managing hair loss in the crown area, such as medications or low-level laser therapy.
