Could my persistent headaches and facial swelling be concerning?
I have been having headache for 2 weeks now. I have a constant pain on my forehead, then around my eyebrows, around my eyes, along the sides of my nose bridge, then at the back and sides of my head and behind my ears. I feel like my forehead and face have swollen up whenever I'm having this headache. On most of the days, this will be there right from the time I wake up in the morning itself and would be there till afternoon and on some days, it would not be there in the morning, but would start in the afternoon. This also keeps coming during each of my travel times as well. Sometimes I have nausea also along with this headache, this mostly happens when this headache is in the afternoon or evening. Sometimes, I have leg pain also. And on each day, after I wake up in the morning, I would be having a blocked nose, some small amount of mucus and sneezing as well.

Answered on 14th Feb '25
It sounds like you may be experiencing sinus-related headaches, which can cause pressure in the forehead, face, and around the eyes. Symptoms like nausea, nasal congestion, and sneezing suggest inflammation, possibly due to allergies or infection. Staying hydrated, using a humidifier, and trying over-the-counter pain relief may help. However, since your headaches have persisted for two weeks, I encourage you to consult a neurologist for a thorough evaluation.

I am a healthy 67 year old, recently I have ɓeen falling down and it takes me over an hour to get myself back up. I don't have diabetes, or high blood pressure, or any heart problems. What could cause something like this??
Female | Tina Carlson
One possible cause of this is muscle weakness or loss of balance due to old age; problems like these can make it more difficult for you to stand back up. You need to talk to a neurologist about it. They might suggest some exercises that will help improve your strength and stability, as well as other treatments aimed at preventing future falls.

Migraine through out day on and off
Male | 16
Yes, migraines can occur on and off throughout the day. Migraine attacks are characterized by severe headaches often accompanied by other symptoms like nausea, sensitivity to light, or aura. The duration and frequency of migraines vary among individuals, and some may experience multiple episodes in a day. If you're experiencing frequent or severe migraines, it's advisable to consult a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and management.

early May my doctor found an active lesion in the cerebellum caused vetrigo, ataxia & balancing issues. I took 7,5g EV cortisone and medrol for 1,5 month.Last pill at May 3rd.After first week I started having sever joint pain especially at knees and wrists. It's 15 of June and I'm still in pain. Wrist, knees, hips almost felt like can't bare my weight
Female | 32
You’re having pain in the joints after you were administered cortisone to the node in your cerebellum. On occasions, joint pain may occur as a side effect of cortisone. Your knees, hands, and hips hurt and it is difficult to stand on them. This is quite possible with cortisone which will affect your body. To solve this problem, it's best to consult an orthopedist about the joint pain.

I'm 67 old man with eary stage of Parkinson . I need effective medication and natural therapy or a secured surgery to end Parkinson completely.
Male | 67
Parkinson's disease affects movement from brain cells misfiring. Early signs are shakes, stiffness, walking trouble. A cure hasn't been found yet, but medication can relieve symptoms. Physical activity and nutritious food also help manage the condition. If it worsens, surgery might be an option. Although it's difficult, stay hopeful and listen to your doctor for optimal treatment.

Epilepsy can be challenging at this time. It’s worrying that you have a few seizures each year. It may be a good idea to see a neurologist. They can help work out whether it’s safe for you to get pregnant while controlling your fitness. You need to strike the right balance for yourself and your unborn child too.

You can check this article for more information - Stem cell for Spinal Cord Injury. You should also consult a neurologist or neurosurgeon for advice on stem cell therapy for your spinal cord injury. However, stem cell therapy is still an experimental treatment and its effectiveness is not yet fully established.

Quantitation of received CSF sample for 14-3-3 Protein Gamma predicts Very high risk of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. Please correlate clinically. This is one of the test result. How to treat this?
Male | 60
The presence of increased 14-3-3 protein in cerebrospinal fluid may be an indicator of a significant risk for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, an uncommon neurodegenerative disorder. Common symptoms include rapid cognitive decline, changes in personality, vision problems, and coordination issues. It is recommended that a neurologist be consulted for a full evaluation, as they can compare your clinical history and symptoms with the test results to better point you in the right direction. In the meantime, a cure does not exist, thus the only thing that will help is supportive care and symptom management. Please, first of all, make an appointment to discuss your case and to find different options for therapy.

HI I am worried about my forgetfullness, I am 20 years old and forgot a password yesterday that I have been doing at list 6 times a week for the past 2 years and today I was sure I brought my bag with me, but it ended up being at home, but I am convinced I took it with me. Is it dangerous that I am forgetting things?
Female | 20
It's normal to misplace or forget things sometimes especially when life gets busy or when you are feeling overwhelmed by the things to do. Forgetting a password or misplacing your bag occasionally is usually nothing to worry about at your age. Get enough sleep, eat healthily, and manage stress to help boost memory. If you're unsure, consider keeping a task list ready or utilizing the reminders on your phone to keep you structured. But if you have worries, getting in touch with a healthcare provider is a great alternative to get yourself tested and put your mind at ease.

Dear Doctor, I am experiencing severe, continuous headaches along with a feeling of dizziness (as if my head is shaking) when lying down. I have also vomited and feel faint. These symptoms persist and are causing significant discomfort. Could you please advise on the next steps or any immediate treatment? Thank you.
Male | 25
Dear Patient, Your report of a significant pain level worries me and I am sorry to hear of this. The very frequent ossification, nausea, and drowsiness that come to you as an offset may have a hidden impact such as a migraine, lack of water, or even middle ear problems. I propose drinking enough water and resting in a dark, calm environment to mitigate your headache. Nevertheless, you should consult a neurologist for, particular treatment advice.

Hello doctor، I got an illness 12 months ago because of a pain in my neck، then my hands stopped moving and then I couldn't walk، then I lost my breathing، I was on a ventilator for 3 months، after 2 months I got better، my legs started moving but I took a pill and my legs it was disabled ، my arm is bent and now I'm fine at home but my legs don't work، I can't walk. I'm in Kurdistan and the doctors are hesitant. I have a disease that many people say is Gillian Barry syndrome or Myelitis, should I come out of the country or Europe, it's good for me?, thank you.
Male | 15
The signs of your disease, such as immobility and the respiratory issues, imply the development of an autoimmune condition such as Guillain-Barre or myelitis. It's necessary to visit a specialist and get suitable drugs. If the domestic health institutions do not want to take that risk, you may go for care abroad where you can find special rehabilitation centers. Make sure to seek advice and assistance from the doctors who treat you as well as get any therapy you need.

What to do in subdural hemorrhage
Male | 62
Subdural hemorrhage happens when blood collects between your brain and skull. This usually follows a serious head injury or fall. Symptoms include severe headaches, confusion, and difficulty walking. Affected individuals require hospital testing for proper diagnosis. Treatment options involve medication or surgery to remove pooled blood. Prompt medical attention prevents lasting brain damage. Such injuries must not be ignored, as complications may arise.

I tend to jump to worse case scenario but I recently got diagnosed with vertigo caused by middle ear fluid and recently it’s came back since where I am the weather has gotten worse and my vision is kind of blurry sometimes and I have a hard time focusing on someone when they are talking how likely is it that this is being caused by a brain tumor and not the middle ear vertigo or am I just completely over thinking this
Female | 21
The blurry vision and the difficulty in focusing can be the vertigo that the ear fluid causes. It is common and it does not mean that you have a brain tumor. The ear fluid can mess up your balance and vision. Usually, it gets better on its own, but you might need medicine or special exercises if the problem keeps bothering you.

Female | 30
Conditions like neuralgia and neuritis can cause symptoms such as pain, burning sensations, reduced appetite, constipation, sleep issues, dizziness, and headaches, which may be linked to nerve health. While medications can help, it’s equally important to stay in regular contact with a neurologist to monitor progress. This way, they can make timely adjustments to relieve symptoms effectively.

Male | 28
Occurrence of bleeding from gums and head aches could be frightening. Quite a few factors including like a sinus issue, injury, or even stress may result in these symptoms. Feeling of lightheadedness can be a manifestation of either insufficient blood supply or dehydration. It is important to keep a calm mind and make sure that you are well hydrated. I recommend that you keep an eye on your symptoms very closely. In case the bleeding lasts or if the pain increases, it is highly recommended to seek the advice of a doctor as soon as possible. By implementing these strategies, we can take care of both your health and mentality.
