Orthopaedic Surgery

It might be true if you have been suffering pain, looking at the swelling, and unable to bend the finger. A difficult event such as a strong impact or force is usually the reason for its occurrence. At this point, you should cease all activities, place ice on the area, and raise your hand. Medical attention by an orthopedist must be given so that the treatment will be done correctly.

I got my knee patella dislocated for first time 2 weeks ago and today my plaster got dispatched. My knee has swelling is it due to plaster? And I am not able to bend it I am able to stand properly on both legs but while walking my knee can’t hold my weight properly. Will this automatically take time to be normal or should I do some exercises? And what to do to reduce swelling?
Male | 19
Swelling after causing a dislocated patella is usual. The plaster may play a part in the swelling, however, the major reason behind the injury is. Difficulty bending and walking are expected early on. As the knee mends, this will improve slowly over time. Light exercises your orthopedist suggests can stretch and strengthen your knee. Resting, elevating your leg, applying ice packs, and taking prescribed medications if necessary to reduce swelling will be helpful.

What does this MRI mean? Very small right of midline C6-C7 disc herniation. No stenosis. No spinal cord edema or abnormal enhancement. There is a 9 mm right thyroid nodule
Female | 33
MRI with a very small right of midline C6-C7 disc herniation indicates a small protrusion of the spinal disc that lies between the neck bones. There's no abnormal swelling in the spinal cord and no narrowing of the spinal canal. Moreover, the 9 mm right thyroid nodule is seen, which needs to be evaluated by an Endocrinologist. You should book an appointment with an Orthopedist and an Endocrinologist to discuss further diagnosis and treatment.

Ive been having severe neck and shoulder pain radiating down my leg on my left side for a couple weeks now. Nothing has been able to relieve the pain. Im having trouble walking and sitting down or rolling over while i sleep. I have no knowledge of hurting myself or straining anything.
Female | 28
You're possibly dealing with sciatica. That occurs when a nerve gets pinched in your lower back area. Neck and shoulder discomfort could stem from muscle tension or strain. Gentle stretches, warm baths, and OTC pain meds may provide relief. However, if the pain lingers, see an orthopedist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

A glass bowl fell on my knee and broke. the glass didnt cut me but it hit the left side of my left knee and now theres a small bump on the right side of my left knee. i feel like i might have dislocated the knee cap but its only a small bump. its really uncomfterble when i move it and it feels hyper extended when i try to straighted my leg. Pressing lightly under the bump hurts when i have my knee relaxed. im able to straighted it with almost no pain but it feels off anytime i move my knee. its been around 2 days now and ive been putting ice on it and using crutches. when the bowl hit my knee i was sitting in a chair and two other bowls fell (a plastic bowl that didnt hit me and another glass bowl that hit my ankle, my ankle is fine) imeditly after the bowl hit my knee it hurt and when i got up i could feel the pain shooting up and down my leg.

Your knee might have gotten hurt when the bowl hit it. The bump and discomfort could mean your kneecap moved out of place. When that happens, it causes pain, swelling, and trouble moving. Good thing you iced it and used crutches. Don't put weight on your knee for now. Let it rest. But if the pain doesn't go away in a few days, see an orthopedist to make sure everything's alright.

Male | 25
Your scaphoid bone has a break. Two months went by, and your wrist moved stiffly. This stiffness happens sometimes after a fracture as it heals. To help, do gentle exercises a physiotherapist suggests. But if the pain stays or gets worse, see an orthopedist to check what's going on.

When I was in the 8th class my arm was broken which remained crooked after joining and I feel very uncomfortable. Will my arm ever be able to become straight like before? I am 29 years old now.
Male | 29
The crooked healing of a bone can create a situation when the arm looks and feels wrong. At your age, the arm may not be able to go back to its original shape and become perfectly straight. Some treatments can help, including physical therapy and, in some cases, surgery. Of course, you should first talk with an orthopedist who can recommend the best way to make your life more bearable.

Have generalised anxiety disorder and currently tapering off of Paxidep 12.5 . The cramps kind of feel like weakness and dull ache. I can't call it painful as it does not cause pain but a bit uncomfortable.

Right hip subchondral sclerosis with fewill defindradiolucent areasnoted inhead of right femur
Male | 34
Subchondral sclerosis is when the bone becomes harder. Radiolucent areas are places where the bone isn’t as dense. These changes can cause pain and stiffness in the hip area. They may occur because of natural aging processes and wear and tear on our bodies over time. To relieve these symptoms, try doing exercises or going for physical therapy sessions.

Ma'am cat has bitten to my father in left leg what to do for treatment tell me
Male | 40
The foremost thing is to wash the wound with warm water and soap. Following this, put the dressing on the wound using a new bandage. Check the area around the bite for redness, swelling, warmth, and pus. Each of these might be infection symptoms. You need to visit your healthcare provider if you observe these signs. The main treatments for infections at home are wound cleaning and dressings.

I am 28 years old, my right heel and foot is very painful for more than one month, my doctor prescribed some medicines but the pain has not cured. Xray report are normal.
Male | 28
Plantar fasciitis, which is when the tissue that connects your heel bone to your toes becomes irritated, maybe the reason for this. Stretch gently your feet, wear the right kind of shoes, and apply ice over the painful area to ease the pain and inflammation. Besides, do not forget to rest your feet well. If the sore continues, it would be wise to see a physiotherapist who can help with certain exercises to strengthen the feet.

From one month onwards right forearm pain
Female | 31
You mentioned pain in your right forearm for a month. That's an annoying problem. There might be multiple causes - maybe overusing your arm or a strained muscle. Resting, icing the area, and gentle stretching may provide relief. However, if the discomfort persists, consulting a orthopedist would be wise.
