After taking emergency contraceptive pills, some women may have side effects. The most typical are nausea, headache, and changes in the menstrual period. Usually, these side effects disappear after a few days. Water, rest, and pills can help with any comfort. If the side effects last or worsen, visit a gynecologist for further advice.

Hi Doc . I was supposed to get my period around the 31st of March 2024 but I ended up bleeding for 2-3 days starting on the 25th March . Usually I would get cramps when I get my period but this time around the bleeding was light and painless . It's the 7th of April now 2024 and I'm still experiencing mild spotting and breast pain ( I also would get breast pain before my period ) . Please advice . I'm turning 30 in May 2024 and I'm married and have an active sex life. I also don't understand why I would have breast pain when usually that occurs before my period and subsides immediately right after my period is done.

Could I have a doctor or nurse take a look at my belly and measure my stomach if possible
Male | 18
The discomfort in the abdominal area may be due to different factors, such as problems with the diet and stress. However, if you have pain, bloating, or any change in your digestion. Checking your waistline can also be a way to determine if something is wrong with the stomach. I recommend consulting a gynecologist or nurse who can perform diagnostics and, if necessary, discuss treatment options.

16 Year old female. Has a cut or tear on the vagina at the bottom not like inside but right before the hole. it has no odor puss or a different color.. it’s only been there for a few days and there’s nothing out of the ordinary. is this something to worry about?
Female | 16
The cut or tear that you have around your vagina is, in my opinion, a small scratch of the skin. This can take place because of friction or irritation. Spotting or sometimes pain may be experienced. It's very essential to maintain the hygiene of the area. The use of warm water for the cleaning of the wound is a good option. Alternatively, a thin layer of Vaseline can be used to cover the skin as it helps the skin to heal. If that fails to be the case, or if it does, You can also consult a gynecologist.

I have continuous UTI for last two moths before and after periods
Female | 33
You may have experienced or even still be in the process of a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs can cause symptoms like pain or burning when you pee, needing to pee often, and feeling like you can't empty your bladder. UTIs sometimes become recurrent during your period, which might have come about due to altered hormone levels or changed hygiene practices. To avoid UTIs, you need to drink a lot of water, pee after sex, void out bacteria, and also practice good hygiene. Talk to a gynecologist about treatment options and other diseases that might lead to repeated UTIs.

What if blood starts coming out of the body again a week after the period?
Female | 16
A good method of expressing your concern is to take a monthly calendar along with you and record whenever an irregularity is apparent and any other symptoms that are also connected with them. For that purpose, go to a healthcare specialist and demand personalized recommendations. They may even conduct additional tests. They can provide the own relief that emanates from your getting the proper answers, plus if testing is required they can order such tests. Help-seeking encourages individuals to understand themselves better which is a positive step that they can take to lead a healthy life.

I am a 20 year old woman. I'm suffering from acne from past few years, but now that've researched about it I realized that I have symptoms of PCOS. I do have hair growth on my face, stomach, back, etc. I get irregular periods by a week or 2. My bmi is normal so that is not considered. I struggle alot with it. I compare myself to women with clear and hairless bodies. I need a solution.
Other | 20
PCOS brings hormonal issues that affect the ovaries. It causes irregular periods and undesirable hair growth like acne or extra body hair. A doctor may recommend changes to lifestyle, take medicines, or suggest treatments to control symptoms. See a gynecologist for proper diagnosis and management. They can best assess whether you have PCOS based on your particular symptoms.

Hi! My name is Deepti n I m 41. I m missing Periods from 10 days but I have a lot of Period cramps. My at home pregnancy tests are negative. My cycle is 3 weeks. Plz help thx.
Female | 41
Skipping periods could be due to a variety of reasons. Having cramps during periods while still getting negative pregnancy test findings may suggest other things involved, like shifting hormone levels, anxiety, or perhaps even certain health issues. If this keeps happening, it would be wise to get advice from a gynecologist.

Period ke kitane din bad pregnancy test krne par sahi report pta chalta hai
महिला | 26
After the period, you can take a pregnancy test. Usually, if the period is missed then the test is done. A pregnancy test is urine-based and you will find out in a few minutes. The symptoms include missed periods, breast tenderness, and nausea. If the positive result is given, consult a gynecologist who will guide you further.

I have protected sex. But also missed my periods. What should I do now?
Female | 21
Irregular periods create worry for those who had protected intercourse. Stress, imbalanced hormones, or specific medical conditions often cause missed cycles. Weight fluctuations, medications, and thyroid problems besides pregnancy may also stop menstruation. Monitor any symptoms accompanying irregular bleeding. If periods remain absent long-term, consulting a gynecologist allows evaluation determining the root cause. They can guide through diagnosis and recommend proper treatment options.

Pregnancy test one dark line between c and t
Female | 27
If there is one dark line between C and T on the test, it may mean a negative result since T indicates positive. But it should be taken into consideration that wrong tests may appear and more test is required. If you are concerned about your pregnancy condition, it is best to see a doctor

I have took abortion tablet on 20 July period was till 6 days after that it again started in from 14 August and some time flow of period is less some time more still
Female | 29
It is fine that your menstruation period has developed some variations after using abortion pills. Sometimes, the flow can be either more or less than usual. This can be a result of the body’s hormonal level changes. Take it easy and give your body some time to adjust. Keep practicing good hydration and get plenty of rest. If you continue to have concerns, visit a gynecologist.

Can someone be pregnant without signs
Female | 34
Pregnancy is sometimes hard to detect early on. Signs like fatigue, queasiness, and sensitive breasts can be mild or mistaken for something else. Stress or health problems can cause similar symptoms too. The most reliable way to know is by taking a pregnancy test either at home or a clinic.

My wife is 7 months pregnant. Two weeks ago I started taking finasteride 1 mg to battle hairloss. Last night me and my wife had intercourse and I ejaculated in her vagina. Could this have been harmful to the baby?
Male | 31
Its not recommended for use during pregnancy as it can harm the developing fetus. Finasteride may cause abnormalities in the male genitalia of a male fetus if a woman is exposed to the medication during pregnancy. But the presence of finasteride in semen is likley to be low. Kindly consult a gynecologist asap.

Another possible alternative is a regular type of birth control. Birth control pills, condoms, or an IUD (intrauterine device) can all be used to avoid pregnancy. The correct use of these methods is safe and effective. You can talk to a gynecologist who can give you recommendations of the best option for you according to your health and lifestyle.

Female | 20
Retching, being not hungry, having spasms in the lower abdomen, and a postponed period could be indicative of either stress or hormonal fluctuation. Attempt to breathe softly, eat a little, drink water, and sleep a little. If symptoms persist, consider contacting a gynecologist for more advice.
