2-Week Finger Sprain: Causes, Treatment & Recovery Tips
I have a sprain in my finger for 2 weeks
Joint Replacement Surgeon
Answered on 27th Sept '24
Your finger has been sprained. This happens when the ligaments (bands connecting bones) stretch or tear. It leads to pain, swelling, and trouble moving your finger. To aid recovery, rest your finger. Ice it. Wrap it with a bandage. Keep it elevated. Don't move it excessively until the discomfort subsides.

I am 25 years old and from few days I am feeling like my hand is getting swollen when I wash utensils and it gets numb and feels like my hand is soaking water
Female | 25
It seems you may have the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. This occurs when a nerve in your wrist gets squeezed, making your hand swell and become numb. Washing up may be aggravating it. When you feel like this, you should try to take regular breaks while doing tasks. You could also use a wrist splint to help keep your hand in a better position. If these steps don’t relieve the problem, then it would be a good idea to talk to a orthopedist for more advice.

Got injured sacroillzc jojnt ligaments, suffering from dysfunctiong, rdgarding fusion of si joint
Female | 49
Although sacroiliac joint dysfunction is usually considered to be the source of lower back and/or leg pain, it can be difficult to diagnose. When the normal mobility of the sacroiliac joint, which joins the triangular bone at the bottom of the spine (the sacrum) to the pelvic, is interrupted, it can produce pain.
• More specifically, sacroiliac joint pain can be caused by either too much or too little movement. Because they can feel so similar, leg pain caused by sacroiliac joint dysfunction might be difficult to distinguish from radiating leg pain caused by lumbar disc herniation (sciatica). The most common causes of SI joint dysfunction are excessive or insufficient mobility.
• Excessive movement in the sacroiliac joint (hypermobility or instability) can make the pelvis feel unstable and result in pain.
• Excessive mobility generates pain in the lower back and/or hip that can spread into the groin, whereas lack of movement (hypomobility or fixation) causes muscle tension, discomfort, and a loss in mobility.
Consult an Orthopedist for further investigations and treatment.

I’m really anxious about something that happened recently and wanted to get your thoughts. So, I went to see a doctor today because I’ve been dealing with some pain in my shoulders. He said it’s due to a deformity in my spine and that it should go away in a few days. The pain is sharp, burning, and kind of aches—it’s definitely worse than what I’ve felt before, but he didn’t seem too concerned. Here’s where I’m stuck: I noticed some scratches on my shoulders, but the doctor didn’t seem to pay much attention to them. When I talked to my dad about it later, he noticed the scratches right away, which freaked me out a bit. The doctor did say that I was vaccinated against rabies a year ago and also for other infectious diseases, so I should be protected, but my mind keeps going to worst-case scenarios. I’ve also been feeling nauseous, but the doctor thinks it’s just nerves. I got super anxious after the whole thing, and now I can’t get it out of my head. I barely slept last night because I’m so worried. I even asked my friends who were there, and they said it didn’t look like anything bit me—just that something flew by. I know I’m probably overthinking this, but should I be worried, or is this just my anxiety getting the best of me? Would appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks!
Male | 17
The pain you're experiencing could be a consequence of the spine problem your doctor pointed out. Such medical problems may be accompanied with sharp, burning, and aching pain. Regarding the scratches, you are safe since you have been vaccinated against rabies and other diseases. Anxiety can be the reason for your nausea, however, if the nausea continues, you should better monitor it. Your first option is to call your orthopedist for a follow-up appointment if the pain or symptoms worsen.

I have a ingrowing nail. Just an hour ago i feel my feet like weird and my leg feels lime a tendon has been pulled
Female | 44
It looks like you may have an ingrown toenail. When a toenail grows into the skin instead of over it, it can cause pain, redness, and swelling. Sometimes, it can make your whole foot feel funny or like a tendon is pulled. To help with this, soak your foot in warm soapy water and gently raise the nail. If it’s really sore, see a podiatrist for help.

My mother is 39 year old female, she's been having pain in all of her joints for the past 4 months, it worsens with physical activities while pain alleviates with rests. I want to know who I should consult with for further treatment
Female | 39
As for your mother's complaints of painful joints, which are aggravated by activity and relieved by rest, they can be interpreted as potential signs of arthritis. Arthritis is a disease that is characterized by swelling and pain in the joints. Therefore, you need to consult a rheumatologist for further treatment. A rheumatologist is a doctor who specializes in the treatment of arthritis and other joint problems. They can assist in determining the origin of the discomfort and enable the correct therapy to be administered that will aid in the alleviation of the signs.

I am trying to find the starting point to getting my knees replaced
Knee replacement surgery is done to replace the damaged joints so patient is relieved of symptoms. The knee joint with an artificial knee called prosthesis made of metal, plastic, and ceramic. It helps to restore function of the damaged knee and relieve arthritis pain. Knee replacement surgery is advised if the pain is interfering with your daily activities and negatively affecting your quality of life. Types of knee replacement surgery Simultaneous bilateral knee replacement - When both knees are replaced at the same time. The primary advantage of a procedure is that there is only one hospital stay and one rehabilitation period to heal both knees. But rehabilitation may be slower. Also these patients may need assistance at home also. Generalized fitness is important here. Staged bilateral knee replacement- Each knee is replaced at a different time. These surgeries are done a few months apart. This staged approach helps one knee to recover before the second surgery. The main advantage of a this procedure is the reduced risk of complications and also requires a shorter hospital stay. However, since this procedure requires two surgeries, the overall rehabilitation period can be longer. Either surgery may involve any combination of total knee replacement or partial knee replacement. The risks associated with this surgery: infection, blood clots, failure of the artificial joint, heart attack etc. Post surgery care, rehabilitation is very important. Hope our answer helps you.
