Should I be Concerned About Delayed Period After Stopping Pill?
I have been on the combined pill for 8 years now. I stopped taking it about a month ago and still haven’t got a period. Should i be worried?
Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 27th July '24
Not having your period yet is okay because your body needs time to readjust. The combined pill manages your cycle, so stopping it disrupts that routine. Your period will resume after a few weeks. Stress, weight fluctuations, or hormone imbalances may delay it. Don't worry if it takes a bit longer. However, see a gynecologist if the absence of your period lasts over a couple of months to ensure everything is fine.

Hello, I got my last periods on 24th of jan and I took an I pill on 29th of jan?I got bleeding on 4th of feb which continued for 3-4 days..When shall I expect my next periods? 25th of feb or 5th of march?
Female | 22
You should remember that paying a visit to an I-pill clinic disturbs the regularity of menstrual cycles. I urge you to visit a gynecologist who can help you decide on the correct expected menstrual date and also recommend the appropriate contraception methods.

I have taken unwanted72 on 1st march and light bleeding ol 9 march for 2 days.on 17 it was my period date and i didn't got my periods yet.when will my periods come?
Female | 24
It's quite normal for this type of pill to affect your menstrual cycle a bit. The light bleeding on March 9 was likely caused by the pill. Sometimes periods get delayed after taking it, so your next one might come later than usual. However, if your period still hasn’t arrived in a few more days, it’s a good idea to speak with a gynecologist. These temporary cycle changes can happen with emergency contraception, but everything should normalize soon.

I have taken i phill on 23 march after unprotected sex within 24 hours. Today I am experiencing minor bleeding. We had unprotected sex but I was on periods that day.
Female | 27
Minor bleeding after taking emergency contraceptives is quite common. This happens due to hormonal changes caused by the medication. It could also be your period starting. Slight bleeding is normal when using such pills. However, if it persists for long or causes worry, consult a gynecologist immediately.

Periods often vary due to stress, weight changes, or hormonal fluctuations. Pregnancy could also be a possibility, so it's important to take a test to confirm. Stress can delay your period, so try to stay calm and take care of yourself. If you're concerned, consider talking to a gynecologist.

Menstrual flow that lasts longer than 7 days might be a symptom of a medical condition that needs a doctor’s attention. You should see a gynecologist who can determine what is going on and prescribe the best-suited treatment.

My gf has taken Unwanted 72 a day before her period date, so when will her periods come and what to do to get her periods early?
Female | 20
Taking Unwanted 72 before her period can change your girlfriend's cycle. That time may come earlier or later than expected. This medicine can cause irregular bleeding or spotting. It's best not to rush and let her body get used to the natural adjustment. One should encourage her to take a lot of liquids, to have a balanced diet, and at the same time to manage stress. If it's taking too long or she feels any other abnormalities, it is important to seek help from a gynecologist.

I am 25 year old and suffering from irregular periods. I get my periods before 10 days from actual date . And during my periods I am suffering from excess pain and heavy bleeding for 2 days . I am only 42 kg and not able to put weight. What is the reason for this.
Female | 25
You may be suffering from hormonal imbalance, which can lead to irregular periods, pain, and heavy bleeding. Your low weight may also be a factor that contributes to these problems. To help regulate your periods and manage the symptoms, it's important to focus on improving your overall health and nutrition. Following a healthy diet and ensuring a proper weight can be the main reason for the success of the treatment. If the problems persist, you should go to a gynecologist for further tests and guidance.

Period ke baad 11 day spot hua aur next 2 day medium bleeding hui hai
Female | 20
You may have irregular periods. If you spot around 11 days after your period stops, then bleed moderately for 2 days, it could mean hormone problems, stress, or routine changes. Try reducing stress, living healthily, and tracking your cycle for patterns. See a gynecologist if it keeps happening.

Mam muje after month mounting chakar ana ase preshaniya huyi thi tho maene thora time ruk ke pregnancy test kiya tha fest line dark and 2line light thi or is month muje 2day only period uhye hai toh kiya pregnancy ho sakti hai koi vaja ho sakti hai
Female | 22
A faint line on the pregnancy test could be a sign that you are pregnant for sure. Though you might have experienced a short period this month, it doesn't rule out the possibility of your pregnancy. Dizziness or lightheadedness may also be one of the early signs of pregnancy. I suggest taking another pregnancy test to see if the first one was correct or you can go to a gynecologist for more help.

I have continuous UTI for last two moths before and after periods
Female | 33
You may have experienced or even still be in the process of a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs can cause symptoms like pain or burning when you pee, needing to pee often, and feeling like you can't empty your bladder. UTIs sometimes become recurrent during your period, which might have come about due to altered hormone levels or changed hygiene practices. To avoid UTIs, you need to drink a lot of water, pee after sex, void out bacteria, and also practice good hygiene. Talk to a gynecologist about treatment options and other diseases that might lead to repeated UTIs.

Okay so basically my gf took positer-2 pill on 13 Augest while we had sex on 12 August and her period ended by 10 today is 22 September and she still didn't get her period. She did take a pregnancy test at the beginning of this month and the results were negative it was a home pregnancy test. She also had a breast infection and went to the hospital they gave her meds to lower the pain and heal the infection now it's getting better. I was just wondering if she's pregnant or not
Female | 21
From the information you provided, it can be assumed that your girlfriend probably followed the guidelines by using the pill and taking a pregnancy test. It is not uncommon that psychological tension and a shift in regular routines can be behind a late period. A breast infection could be another cause. It's good to know she is getting better. If she is feeling anxious, talking with a gynecologist might help ease her worries.

I want to know if my hymen is still intact
Female | 17
I suggest that you make an appointment to see a gynecologist who will be able to look at your hymen and tell if it is intact or not. However, it is important to remember that the presence or absence of a hymen is not the only factor in determining virginity since several factors can lead to the hymen tearing or not being present.
