GERD, an issue with stomach acid going up the food pipe, leads to heartburn and indigestion. Your doctor ordered Famotidine and sucralfate to ease symptoms. Take them each morning and night. Famotidine reduces acid production, while sucralfate creates a protective coating inside your stomach. Following instructions carefully will help manage discomfort. Famotidine decreases acid levels. Sucralfate forms a barrier to shield against irritation. Together, they can provide relief for your condition.

Contacting you for my brother. He has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 18 years ago. There seems to be no remission phases though, even though he has tried several things - medication, alternative medicine etc. Could it be something else at hand? Maybe wrong diagnosing to begin with or a combination of things?
Male | 41
I'm sorry to hear that your brother is struggling with ulcerative colitis. Other conditions like infections or complications from long-term inflammation might also be causing his symptoms. He needs to see a gastroenterologist for a thorough check-up to rule out other possibilities. The doctor may suggest additional tests or treatments to help manage his condition better.

Hi I have amaebiosis history which was cured by ayurveda bt i wasn't able to follow all the rules so it was never fully cured though. I still have issues n it's for last 8 years. I hv constant gases whole day and pain in my left side in stomach. M scared to visit doctors i hope i don't hv to do surgery or any painful process. What should I do.
Female | 26
You seem to have persistent tummy troubles. Frequent gas and aches on your left side could point to digestive problems. Your past amebiasis might be contributing too. Understandably, you want to avoid surgery. To feel better, try eating smaller portions, steering clear of spicy cuisine, and drinking plenty of fluids. But it's also wise to speak with a gastroenterologist about other potential remedies.

Why do I feel food is stuck in my throat and feel pain when we swallow food during 30weeks pregnant
Female | 21
When you are pregnant, the feeling of food is caught in the throat and a sense of pain when swallowing it is most likely caused by acid reflux. It occurs when the stomach acid erupts back to the esophagus which could make you feel like food is stuck and also can cause pain. It leads to a sensation of being unable to swallow and a painful state. One method to relieve it is by eating less and avoiding spicy foods as well as standing or sitting for some time after a meal. If the symptoms persist, seek advice from a gastroenterologist.

Can I eat onions and black pepper in h pylori
Male | 38
If you possess the H. pylori infection, some signs can be stomach aches, bloating, nausea etc. These symptoms are likely to get worse if you take onions or black pepper since they may irritate the lining of your stomach. It would therefore be advisable for one to temporarily keep off such foods until they undergo treatment for this condition. In order to reduce distress while being treated for H. pylori, it is recommended that you take a mild diet comprising foods that do not cause any harm to your stomach.
