While pigmentation is your normal skin-shade, but hyperpigmentation is darker skin tone and hypopigmentation is on lighter side. Hyperpigmentation can be treated using creams, face acids, retinoids, chemical peels, laser therapies, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion, they are advised depending on the extent to which your skin happens to be dark. They can not only free your skin of darkness, but they also carry exfoliation benefits, and can effectively hide scars, spots and sun damage. Hypopigmentation includes treatments such as dermabrasion, chemical peel, laser resurfacing and lightening gels, but you may require other kinds of treatment if at all there's some underlying cause behind lighter skin shade. Neither type can be cured with home remedies, guidance of an expert is necessary. You are given pre-treatment tips to prepare your body before undergoing any of the therapies mentioned above, and your medical profile is checked as well. Both is done to reduce the probability of you running into any kind of risk post treatment. Coming to black spots - Above treatments should be good enough. For further guidance, you can refer to our list of Skin Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or that of any other city, whichever you feel is convenient, and sought consultation services. Facial hyperpigmentation may be due to several causes including tan, agespots, melasma, allergy to skin and hair products, association with underlying medical ailments, deficiencies, hormonal imbalance etc. Knowing the underlying cause and diagnosis are essential before the treatment is commenced. Treatments include topical creams, oral medications, chemical peels, qs yag laser treatment along with good skin care regimen and sun protection with broad spectrum sunscreen. So please consult a qualified dermatologist.

It is advisable to see a dermatologist for a rash on your penis. They focus on diagnosing and treating skin diseases. I suggest going to a doctor to find out the cause of a rash and receive effective treatment.

I have a lot of dark moles like structures on my face and skin, will I be able to remove it permanently. If yes, kindly let me know the method and cost. Thank you :)

Common procedures are laser therapy, excision or cryotherapy depending on the type and size of moles. Based on the methods chosen, number of moles or location can vary dramatically in costs. It is essential to seek advice from a dermatologist or any skincare specialist who could analyze your situation, suggest appropriate options and give an idea of the possible costs. The removal procedure should be carried out by a licensed practitioner to ensure safety and reduce the degree of scarring.

some allergy suddenly arised from my body it caused my finger and arm swallow

Female | 17

When certain allergies occur, body parts tend to swell. This might have been caused by contact with something like a plant or chemical that does not agree with you. Ensure the affected area is washed properly. To reduce the swelling, you can use an antihistamine. Seek immediate medical attention if things get worse or if you find it hard to breathe.

I m 35 years old male. Last three days I got a sudden bump while rubbing my penis. The bump is not going away and I am also taking antibiotic tablet still no improvement

Male | 35

Antibiotics will not necessarily clear up every problem, as sometimes it is not even a bacterial issue. Be sure to watch for other symptoms like pain and changes in the look. Setting a meeting with a dermatologist is good advice and he will check you out thoroughly and suggest the best treatment. It is a must to have professional support for the proper identification and treatment.

Hello Doctor, I am a 30 year old female and I recently noticed open pores on my face, what should I do? My daily routine is: use himalaya neem face wash, then moisturize skin and I happen to have oily & dull skin. Can you pls suggest what should I do? Thank you!

Female | 30

I would like to start by recommending a daily skincare routine for the problems you are facing. Start with Oil control cleansers with AHA's or BHA's to clear the oil and dirt from your face 2-4 times a day. Use a Vit C serum or day serum in the morning if you are at home and you can add sunscreen on top if you are going to go out and will get exposed to sunlight. Evening, after wash use a toner to neutralize and calm your skin. Before bed, use a coat of moisturizer and additional retinol-based anti-aging serum to finish. If it's a major concern, please contact a dermatologist.
