Oral cancer treatment includes:
- surgery in early stages,
- Radiation therapy,
- Chemotherapy.
- Treatment for advanced stages will usually involve a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
- Targeted therapy can be effective in both early and advanced stages of cancer.
In your case, depending of stage of cancer or if it is recurring, the clinician will decide about the line of treatment. Very important is nutrition of patient as eating will be a concern during and after treatment for some time. Hygiene of mouth is also very important and not to be missed. My husband was diagnosed with cancer four months ago. Doctors initially assumed it was bone cancer, but after the pathology report came, we came to know that it's stage 4 kidney cancer. Some of our known people suggested immunotherapy as chemotherapy doesn't go for kidney cancer. We want an expert opinion on whether this is true and in that case what we should do now.
