General Physician
Answered on 27th June '24
As girls approach adolescence, bodily changes happen - it's normal. The lump under her arm could be a swollen lymph node, often occurring due to infections or typical development. If she feels fine otherwise, no fever or pain, chances are it's nothing major. However, keep monitoring it closely. Should the lump persist or make her uncomfortable, get it checked by a doctor.

This could be related to the liver, gallbladder, or a change in diet. The stool color might change if your baby isn't eating his snacks. To be safe, monitor your baby's stool color, and if the change persists, consult your pediatrician. Keep offering a variety of foods to find out what your baby likes to eat.

Son 13 year old vomiting pain on stomach and headache
Male | 13
The signs of a stomach bug can start with vomiting. Stomach pain and headache are also two other possible symptoms. Often, these bugs are self-limiting and go by themselves, for the time being, ensure he drinks as much as possible to avoid dehydration, and feed him suitable light foods. Should he not feel any better in several days, it's the best option to see a gastroenterologist.

6 year old boy, have PFAPA, had his latest periodic fever at 25th december 2023, got glutation to be better and did not have any bad reaction to it. At 3 januari 2024 he got vitamin d, omega3, turmeric and resveratrol, and got an allergic reaction one day later and got antihistamin medicin. Five days after that he got fever, but very low, in normally his temperature is at 37 celcius but now between 37.6-37.9. The fever appears only at afternoon in about 30 minutes and then disappears. It has been going on like this for a week now. Otherwise he is fine and this is not the typical fever he gets at PFAPA. I am wondering if this sounds like something dangerous or if its still a reaction to the supplement he got only once, or if it sounds like an infection? Maybe corona?
Male | 6
It sounds like your 6-year-old son's current symptoms may be a reaction to the supplements or a mild infection. Given his history of PFAPA and the recent allergic reaction, it's important to consult with a pediatrician to determine the exact cause.

Gave my son a pedialax suppository to help him poop and he’s had diarrhea for about 3days now and has a pretty bad rash from it what can I do?is it normal?
Male | 5
The Pedialax suppository seems to have caused those side effects. Diarrhea happens when the tummy gets irritated. Rashes come from skin irritation. Give your son lots of water to stay hydrated. Put a gentle cream on the rash. If it doesn't improve soon, talk to a doctor. These issues should go away, but get help if needed. Reach out to a pediatrician for advice if concerns persist.

Baby very unsettled not acting as he usually does / a lot of congestion in nose, crying more than usual and not passing as much poo as usual today
Male | 19 days
Your infant is suffering from either a cold or a slight infection. The stuffiness in their nose may obstruct breathing, thus causing more frequent crying spells. Such a condition can also bring about restlessness. Babies tend to have fewer bowel movements when they have a cold. Ensure that they take enough fluids and get additional sleep. You can relieve the congestion by using a nasal saline spray. However, should these signs continue or worsen, it is imperative to consult a pediatrician.

Hi there, I just have a quick question that my 13 year old daughter asked me and I wasn’t sure what the answer was
Female | 13
Hiccups happen when the diaphragm muscle below the lungs contracts suddenly. Eating rapidly, carbonated beverages or excitement may trigger hiccups. Typically, hiccups stop by themselves but try deep breathing or sipping water if persistent. Hiccups are little noises our bodies make, sometimes cute. They usually resolve on their own, but lasting ones need attention. Deep breaths help relax the diaphragm, while water soothes throat spasms causing hiccups.

Your daughter's fever, rash, throat pain, cough, and headache suggest a viral illness, possibly influenza. Dehydration causes yellow urine. Ensure she consumes ample fluids and rests well. Administer fever-reducing medicines if necessary. However, seek medical evaluation if symptoms worsen or don't improve, as viruses can sometimes lead to complications.
