Will my baby's 2.1cm congenital ASD hole close on its own?
My baby is 21 months old. Doctor suggested to take echo for my baby and congenital ASD hole with size of 2.1cm was diagnosed. Will this hole gets closed automatically or any surgery needed for this?

Answered on 2nd July '24
Your baby's health situation seems concerning. The echo test finding a hole, an ASD, is worrisome. This hole doesn't always close naturally as babies grow up. Sometimes, surgery becomes necessary to fix it. Watch for trouble breathing or poor growth as warning signs. Speak to your doctor about the ideal treatment path for your child.

My son is 1 he has been having diarrhoea but like small pieces off poo and wet but a lot redness around the bum it really hurts him
Male | 1
He may have loose, watery poo called diarrhea. His red bottom likely stems from irritation caused by frequent bathroom visits. Viruses or bad food can trigger this condition. Keep him hydrated with plenty of fluids like water or electrolyte drinks formulated for infants experiencing diarrhea. Apply diaper rash cream to soothe the redness. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a pediatrician right away for proper care advice.

hi there, i've only now come to realise ive had threadworms for almost all my life - i am 15 and i've probably had them since i was 3 or 4. i want to know what medicine i should be getting to take care of this and can i buy this myself? also will treating this affect my metabolism since i read that these threadworms use glucose to survive so does that mean that's the only thing keeping me skinny?
Female | 15
It's important to treat threadworms with proper medication. You can use over-the-counter medicines like mebendazole or albendazole, which are effective. However, it's best to visit a pediatrician or a general physician for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Treating threadworms won't significantly affect your metabolism.

It’s common for children to experience fever and vomiting, which might be due to a viral infection or something they ate. Monitor her temperature, ensure she stays well-hydrated with clear fluids, and offer bland foods when she’s ready to eat. Rest is also crucial for recovery. If symptoms persist for more than 24 hours, or if she shows signs of dehydration or lethargy, please reach out to a pediatrician. Babies cry frequently, notably at nighttime. Perhaps your little one suffers from colic. While its precise root remains unidentified, colic is widespread and typically resolves independently by 4 months.
