Answered on 11th July '24
This occurs when the food in her abdomen is not digested well. The feeling of hardness over the top and swelling of the stomach are common signs. Eating too quickly or certain types of food can bring this about. Advise her to take things slowly while having meals and avoid foods that could trigger indigestion such as spicy or fatty dishes. Drinking plenty of fluids may also help relieve discomfort. However, if these symptoms persist then it would be advisable for you to seek further medical advice from a gastroenterologist.

38 year old male everytime I go #2 I bleed alot.
Male | 38
It's not normal if you bleed heavily during a bowel movement. Hemorrhoids, which are swollen blood vessels in the rectal area can be one reason for this. Another cause may be an anal fissure; a tear in the lining of your anus. These occur when people strain too hard while passing stool or if they are constipated. A good idea would be to alter what you eat so that it includes more fiber and drink lots of water before seeing a gastroenterologist about it because ignoring such matters could make them worse.

My dad is suffering from gastric problem. He took medicines. But he didn't get relief.
Male | 45
Your dad's gastric issue is concerning. The meds don't seem effective. Stomach problems bring pain, bloating, and discomfort. Medications may fail if diet or stress cause the issue. Spicy foods, large meals, and stress worsen symptoms. Smaller portions, stress management, and avoiding trigger foods may improve his condition.

I have been pooping for about 2 weeks, yellow and sludge like stool. As soon as I eat, I feel the urge to poop. This started after I ate canned food from the store which was spicy. I previously know my stomach does not allow for spicy food without negative reaction, but this feels extreme. I had iron deficiency before, I took tablets and it normalised. My scalp hair growth has slowed, losing weight. I have not added a lot of vegetables to my diet.
Male | 27
You possibly have gastritis, an inflamed stomach lining. Eating spicy or canned foods worsens it. Yellow, sludge-like stools signal this condition. Frequent urges to poop after meals are common symptoms. Iron deficiency may be linked to it as well. Try cutting spicy foods, eating more veggies, and drinking lots of water. Consult a gastroenterologist if issues persist.

Female | 24
As soon as you can, go to a gastroenterologist. The symptom of hematemesis – vomiting blood is a serious sign that must not be overlooked. It may refer to various diseases, including gastric ulcers, inflammation of the stomach lining or even cancer. Only an expert can identify the underlying condition.

A week ago I had some foul tasting food, I've had bleeding since then like a very heavy period , and now my resting heart rate is down 10-20bpm roughly from last week.
Female | 30
It is possible the bleeding you are experiencing is the result of problems with the digestive system, including the eating of spoilt or contaminated food. It is necessary to go to a gastroenterologist immediately to find out the causes and symptoms of the bleeding.

I am aged 22 ..l have been having stomach pains and cramps with a yellow discharge..after days after l took benzathine for my tensils .what might be the cause ?and what should l take to stop the problem?
Female | 22
These could be symptoms of a bacterial infection in your stomach. Sometimes, the use of antibiotics such as benzathine can deplete the good bacteria in the stomach, which may result in those symptoms. To eliminate the problem, you should consider ingesting only plain, easily digestible foods such as rice and toast. In addition, make sure you drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated. If the symptoms don't go away, it's a good idea to visit a gastroenterologist for more tests and treatment.

My stomach is empty and upset and I'm unable to drink water without feeling nauseous. I've taken pepto bismol and I've been eating bread yet nothing's helping. What do I do?
Female | 21
It seems like you might have gastritis. This occurs when the lining of your stomach becomes inflamed and can result in feelings of queasiness as well as an upset stomach. Consuming bread or using Pepto-Bismol may not help alleviate these symptoms. To keep hydrated, try drinking clear fluids such as broth or ginger tea. Additionally, you should avoid eating spicy foods that could further irritate it since they tend to be acidic too while fatty ones take longer to digest besides causing discomfort hence worsening the situation even more should this happen. For proper treatment seek medical attention if they persist beyond what is expected.

You should see a gastroenterologist who will give you the right diagnosis and a suitable treatment plan required to cure this condition.

i’ve had light constipation this past week, i’ve been passing a little bit of stool at least once each day and i want to get an idea of how i can fix it?
Female | 17
You have mild constipation. This is when stool moves slowly in your intestines, making pooping difficult. Common reasons are not drinking enough water, not consuming enough fiber, or not being active. To fix this, drink more water. Eat fruits and vegetables. Move your body by walking or exercising regularly. Constipation makes bowel movements difficult. Mild cases can be alleviated with simple lifestyle changes.

Today i ate small piece of finger nail with food does it cause any problem or it will dissolve.. I'm confused what to do please help
Female | 24
Don’t freak out if you accidentally swallow a little piece of fingernail. It’s not a big deal for your body – it can handle stuff like that. If it’s tiny, it’ll probably go through without causing any problems. Drink lots of water though – this will help it move along easily. And if you start hurting anywhere or feeling sick or notice anything strange then definitely talk to a gastroenterologist.

Having problem during toilet found pain and found blood in stool.
Male | 34
This could mean you have piles, that are lumps inside and around your bottom that contain swollen blood vessels. Other symptoms include feeling itchy and seeing drops of red liquid in the toilet after wiping. To alleviate the situation, ensure you take in a lot fluids, eat more fiber such as fruits and vegetables, and use nonprescription ointments. If none of this works after some time then one must see a gastroenterologist immediately.

I am a 14 year old male and I am having stomach pain from 2 days.. The pain is not constant but it appears and disappears.. I am also getting vomiting frequently... Also I am feeling weakness
Male | 14
You might have a stomach bug. These bugs are usually viral and quite contagious. Be sure to drink lots of fluids such as water or clear soup while staying away from solid foods until you feel better. When you’re able to, try eating small easy-to-digest meals. If your symptoms persist or worsen, see a gastroenterologist who can give more advice on this matter.
