Newborn's CRP Level Drops Initially, but Stalls at 18
My newborn has crp level of 39 .After 2 days of antibiotics it decreased to 18. But after another 4 days no changes .it remains 18 only. Is this something to worry about or are Antibiotics are not working anymore
General Physician
Answered on 27th June '24
Having a CRP level of 18 when a baby is born could mean an infection exists. The antibiotics helped lower it initially, that's good. But if it stays unchanged after more days, we may need to check if the antibiotics are still working properly. Contact your pediatrician if the baby develops fever, gets fussy, struggles with feeding, or has breathing issues. They can guide you on what to do next.

The baby is 3 years old…he walked all the way back from church and all of a sudden can’t seem to stand placing his hands on his knees crying
Male | 3
Kids sometimes grow fast. During this, leg muscles can't stretch enough. This causes Osgood-Schlatter disease near the knees. Pain strikes after lots of walking or running. Recommend that the child take breaks, put ice packs on knees, and take acetaminophen pills. If the agony continues, visit a pediatrician soon. They'll examine and advise further treatment if required.

For my child there is fever the body temperature is not coming down since 2 days
Female | 6
If your child's fever doesn't go away after two days, it might indicate their body is fighting an infection. Besides a high temperature, they may feel tired, have a headache, and lose their appetite. Ensure they stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and consider using children's acetaminophen or ibuprofen as directed. If the fever lasts more than a few days or other concerning symptoms appear, contact your pediatrician.

Variations exist when kids develop speech skills. If speaking challenges arise with your son, potential reasons could be hearing issues, developmental delays, or simply taking more time. I suggest seeking a professional evaluation of his hearing and consulting a speech therapist. They'll provide insight into nurturing his speech progress.

Hello doctor my 9month old baby got fever. I gave him headbath after that he got fever why? No other symptoms. He is active normal
Male | 0
Babies sometimes experience a mild temperature increase after a headbath. This is normal, caused by their body cooling down slightly. If your baby seems active and well otherwise, there's typically no cause for concern. However, ensure they drink enough fluids and dress them warmly. Consult a pediatrician if the fever continues or worsens.

My child has fever since night, more than 100, please suggest medicine for it.
Male | 3.5 month
Your child's fever is concerning. Fevers usually happen when the body fights infections, like colds or flu. To lower fever and improve comfort, give acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Ensure they drink water frequently. Let them rest. Use a light blanket to maintain coolness. However, if the fever doesn't improve or worsen, it's crucial to visit a pediatrician immediately.

Early puberty in 8.5year daughter, pubic hair under arm
Female | 8
Experiencing early puberty can be tricky for an 8.5-year-old girl. It could stem from genetics, weight issues, or medical problems. Watch for signs like pubic or underarm hair growth, body odor changes, or sudden height spurts. These indicate puberty onset. Talk to your pediatrician to understand what's happening inside her body. They'll run tests to identify the cause and recommend the best care approach.

Female | 1
Your baby may be experiencing a mild allergic reaction. This can be caused by contact with plants, animals, or certain foods. The red patches could show that a response is taking place within her body. You should apply a light moisturizing lotion to keep her skin moist. Ensure that you protect her from anything she might be allergic to. Should the rash continue or become worse, it is advisable to contact a pediatrician for more assistance.

Mera baby eye contact nhi karta h
Male | 2
Babies often don't look into people's eyes early on. Your baby never seems to make eye contact which could mean a "delayed eye contact" issue. There might be different reasons behind this behavior. It could take more time for eye contact skills to develop fully. However, it might also potentially relate to conditions such as autism spectrum disorders. Feeling unsure is understandable - consider discussing your observations candidly with your child's pediatrician.

Your child feels unwell, probably due to germs. A fever means their body battles an infection. An illness involves a cough, runny nose and fever. Ensure your child hydrates well and sleeps adequately. Medication, like acetaminophen, can reduce a fever. Should symptoms persist or worsen considerably, consult a pediatrician promptly for professional medical advice.

Your child has swelling around their private parts. This swelling happens sometimes. It can come from being irritated or something causing infection. Maybe your child got hurt there. It's important to keep that area clean and dry. You can use a gentle cream after washing the spot gently. If the swelling doesn't go away soon, get help from a doctor. Or if the swelling bothers your child, see a pediatrician.

Blood spots on your daughter's underwear can seem alarming, but it's often straightforward. Around her age, bleeding before periods start is common. It's called menstruation - girls experience it as they grow up. Ensure she knows about pads or tampons for staying fresh during this time.

My baby girl is of 2 months and i want to change the milk i want to leave the formula milk and want to start a cow milk can i do this .is there any side effect of this or not
Female | 0
At 2 months, babies should be given formula milk as their main drink. Cow’s milk lacks important nutrients needed at this stage and can cause issues like indigestion, anemia, or allergies. Stick with formula milk until your baby is about 1 year old. Please talk to your pediatrician for more guidance.

Your baby's trouble peeing is worrying. Infrequent, small puddles aren't normal. Dehydration or infection could explain it. Few wet diapers raise red flags for babies. Even if reluctant, keep giving milk and water often. Have a pediatrician examine the issue promptly.
