Schizophrenia from 4 years
Psychiatrist
Answered on 2nd July '24
Schizophrenia is a brain disorder, due to which individuals may occasionally believe that they can see or hear things that are not there, are unable to control their thoughts and translate them into proper directions, experience paralyzing fear, or believe that other people are planning to harm them. Thus, it might be that their thoughts are disjointed and rather difficult to follow. It is often recognized as associated with confusion. A group of inheritable factors, as well as the influence of the environment, can be held responsible for the development of schizophrenia.

I am facing general depression issues , due to my stressed lifestyle at the moment. Do I need to speak with a psychiatrist?
Female | 50
One should consult a psychiatrist or counsellor for proper diagnosis and further treatment, i.e. you have depression or bipolar disorder, as treatment and outcome is different for both disorders, however let the psychiatrist decide what medications to take as per you r psychological condition, and have never personally used glutathione in bipolar.

Hi - I am taking for 10 months now mirtazipine 30 mg. Is it ok to half the dose - or do I need to build down more slowly? I gain a lot of weight … Thank you
Female | Joke
A common side effect of mirtazapine is weight gain. Talk with your doctor before you reduce your dose. They might recommend a strategy to decrease the dose gradually so that you won't have withdrawal symptoms. It is dangerous to quickly change your dose; therefore, it is necessary to do it carefully under the supervision of your doctor.

Why I am feeling anxious and dizziness . Sometimes feel like cannot breathe fully
Male | 21
Feeling anxious, dizzy, and having trouble breathing happens when you're stressed, having a panic attack, or low iron. Slow breaths help. Talk to someone. Try relaxation exercises - breathe deep. Eat well, sleep lots. If it persists, tell someone you trust or see a psychiatrist.

I am 15 years old, I drank an energy drink at 4pm with 200mg of caffeine. I have never had an energy drink before, I was normal until now at 9pm and I feel jittery anxious and on edge and my chest kind of hurts but I don’t know if it is just the anxiety or what. Please help me is this normal.
Female | 15
A high-energy beverage containing a lot of caffeine might be responsible for your current state. You know, caffeine can make some people feel nervous and jumpy or even give them a tight chest. The deal is that caffeine is a drug; it stimulates the body. To get well, you need to take water, calm down, and don't touch anything containing caffeine.

You might be experiencing a strong aversion to dirt or grime, which might be triggering anxiety or even a phobic reaction. This could be a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or a specific phobia. It's important to consult a psychiatrist who can evaluate your symptoms and help you manage this condition effectively.

Hi I'm taking esomeprazole, lisinopril, lipitor, citalopram and ropinerole. I want to know if I can take anti sweat tablets
Female | 59
It is possible that sweating contributes to the discomfort, and any medications may interact with each other. The adverted drug might also negatively affect the efficiency of other medications that you are taking. It is vital to communicate with a doctor. They will give advice or suggest something else if necessary to manage your situation.

One of my relatives takes bromazepam 5mg occasionally for her sleeping issues. Another patient who also used to take bromazepam told me that it is it has some severe side effects. He suggested to take clonazepam 0.5 mg instead is clonazepam really better than bromazepam?
Female | 42
Your relative takes bromazepam and clonazepam for sleep issues and anxiety. Both medications work differently. Clonazepam can have fewer side effects for some people. However, talk to your psychiatrist before changing any medication. They know best about medications and can guide you properly.

Am fully stress and i can't sleep all night. I wand to cry i don't know the reason but i wand cry
Female | 18
That's normal - everyone experiences those feelings now and then. Stress builds up. It makes sleeping difficult and brings tears easily. That's okay though. Try opening up to someone you trust about what's bothering you. Deep breaths or listening to calm music might help too. Don't forget: taking care of your mental health matters just as much as your physical health.

I have a child who is 10 years of age. I had depression when she was born and still have even today. So I went to notice that my child is also having it and it makes me feel like I have failed her so bad. She would just cry in everything and have a very short temper, that it sometimes hard for her to concentrate. Please I want to help her before it is too late, what is the first step that I can do.is there any over the counter medication that I can get for her
Female | 10
If your kids are crying easily, getting mad quickly, and can’t pay attention, they might have something called “childhood depression.” You did not cause this. It is nobody’s fault. One thing I would do is talk with a therapist/psychiatrist. There might be other ways doctors can think of to help your child and family.
