Answered on 2nd Dec '24
Coughing so hard together with chest pain can be due to one thing or another such as a bad cold flu, or pneumonia which could be even worse. To get through this better, make sure you get enough sleep, drink a lot of fluids, and consider using a humidifier. However, if your symptoms are the same, consult a pulmonologist.

Iam 18 years old Im suffering from cough from 7 days. my father prescribed me Azithromycin 500 mg. Actually my father is not a doctor but having some medication knowledge. Is it ok to take Azithromycin 500 mg ??
Male | 18
Perhaps a cold or allergies trigger the cough that has been there for 7 days. Azithromycin 500 mg is an antibiotic that can help if your cough is a result of a bacterial infection. Nonetheless, it's important to get a pulmonologist's examination to find out the exact cause of your cough before taking medication to take precautions before it occurs again.

I want to know about the TB
Female | 55
TB, a common shorthand term for tuberculosis, is a life-threatening disease caused by bacteria that mainly affect the lungs. Humans with TB might experience, amongst others, the following peculiar signs: prolonged cough, chest pain, losing weight, and fatigue. The transmission occurs when a TB patient coughs or sneezes with a built-in airway and thus spreads the bacteria from person to person.

Hlo sir last 2 years i have been diagnosed with tb..tb is cure but xray report slight bronchovesicular prominance are seen in peri hillar and lower zone..i always have throat ireeitation and back throat mucus produce...recently i am going to married does it affect my life
Male | 23
You had TB some time ago, and now you're worried about your lungs and throat. The X-ray showed a slight prominence, probably from the old TB. Throat irritation and mucus at the back are common issues nowadays. These shouldn't affect your marriage, but it's important to care for your health. To ease the irritated throat and mucus, stay hydrated, use a humidifier, or gargle with warm salt water. However, if the symptoms don't improve or worsen, see a pulmonologist for advice.

Medication issued by the doctor, avoiding triggers, and taking smaller meals can be the ways to cope with this. It is essential to take advice from a pulmonologist for the appropriate treatment.

A hard no for smoking and polluted air. You can also use a humidifier, it will moisturize your throat and alleviate your cough. Female | 22
A persistent cold can be troublesome, with runny noses, coughing, sneezing, sore throats, and fatigue. Viruses spread these common illnesses between people. Rest, hydrate, and consider over-the-counter remedies for relief. Gargling warm saltwater soothes sore throats. Seek medical attention if symptoms worsen or persist beyond a week.

Female | 22
If you’ve had a dry cough and cold recently, it seems like you might have some crackling in your lungs. This is normal. The sound could mean there is still mucus present. To remedy the situation, drink more water and practice breathing exercises. If it persists or worsens, take time off work so your body can recover.

I was smoking. But I quit smoking till 2 days. Now I'm facing difficulties of breathing.
Male | 24
Experiencing shortness of breath after stopping smoking is a typical occurrence. Your body is getting used to the new environment. This may be because your lungs are now getting rid of the waste that can be left after smoking. It is a positive indicator that your body is on the way to recovery. Attempt to resume the procedure by breathing slowly and drinking water. If the problem doesn't go away, visit a pulmonologist.

Some of the symptoms of asthma are shortness of breath, chest tightness, fatigue, and anxiety. It is not possible to breathe freely with asthma. The reason for this is mostly the swelling in the airways. To manage this your doctor may prescribe inhalers and medications. I have asthma but no inhaler and I want to start track and field in my school. What should I do?
Female | 14
Sports if you are asthmatic and lack of inhaler can turn out to be a dangerous affair. Asthma is a disease that can cause breathing difficulties, coughing, and compactness of the chest among other things. Physical activities can provoke an asthma attack. In your situation, it would be dangerous to do track and field without an inhaler. Warn your parents or school nurse about your asthma and request them to help you get an inhaler before beginning track and field.

My son has a cough but it's not often he doesn't have a fever, he's energetic but it takes a long time before the cough goes away should I still be worried? He has already taken antibiotics
Female | 27
A persistent cough can occur due to various reasons, such as allergies or a lingering viral infection. While antibiotics treat bacterial infections, they won't help if the cause is viral. Keep him hydrated and consider using a humidifier to ease his throat. If the cough lasts more than a few weeks or worsens, I recommend consulting a pulmonologist for proper evaluation. They can provide guidance tailored to his specific condition.

Female | 4.5
This symptom can stem from various causes, such as allergies, infections, or even environmental factors. The small spot observed on the X-ray may indicate several possibilities, but it does not necessarily point to something serious. It’s crucial to discuss these findings with her pediatrician, who can interpret the X-ray in the context of her overall health. In the meantime, maintaining a comfortable environment and monitoring her symptoms can be helpful.
