Symptoms of colon cancer will depend on the location and stage of cancer. Just by knowing symptoms one cant come to diagnose. It is advisable to show to a clinician to avoid confusion and panic. Some of the common symptoms of colon cancer are: A persistent change in your bowel habits, including diarrhea or constipation or a change in the consistency of your stool, Rectal bleeding or blood in stool, Persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramps, gas or pain., a feeling that bowel doesn't empty completely, weakness or fatigue, unexplained weight loss ,vomiting and others. But these symptoms can be found in other abdominal diseases, and therefore can't be diagnosed. I'd want to ask a few questions about colon cancer. My brother is a colon cancer patient and is undergoing chemotherapy. I'd appreciate it if you could let me know if nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and chest pain are usual symptoms.
Chemotherapy always has mild to moderate side effects. Nausea, Vomiting, hyperacidity and weakness are common side effects.
During the chemotherapy sessions and even after it some pre and post Chemotherapy drugs are prescribed to prevent or reduce these side effects. In case of extensive discomfort you should always consult your medical oncologist and seek his/her opinion
