What does bilateral S1 pseudoarthrosis mean?
What does partial lumbarization of S1 bilaterally with possible bilateral lateral S1-S2 pseudoarthrosis. No acute fracture mean?
Orthopaedic Surgery
Answered on 12th June '24
S1 shows partial lumbarization. This is indicative of an unusual section of your back. It may be responsible for the pain you feel in your lower back. If a bone does not go the way it is supposed to, it will join another bone and cause an immovable joint which is what S1 - S2 bilateral sacroiliitis refers to. If there is no sudden fracture then there is none. Try to have some rest; take mild painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen which can be bought over the counter at any pharmacy near you then after doing all this if it doesn’t work out fine consult a physiotherapist who will provide appropriate therapy for relief apart from doing exercises that are not too strenuous.

Dislocated my shoulder 2 weeks ago snowboarding. All pain is gone and range of motion is fine but I can now slide my shoulder back and forth by pressing with my opposite hand in a way the I can’t in my other shoulder. Thoughts?
Male | 19
I have a feeling that you might have a dislocated shoulder with shoulder instability. However, the fact that your pain is gone is only one of the things to worry about as the slipping of your shoulder back and forth is also alarming. You should see an orthopedic surgeon.

My mother have knee Pain and back Pain We think they have calcium issue
Female | 44
Your mom's knees and back might hurt because her body lacks calcium. Calcium deficiency can cause bone and muscle aches. It brings weakness, knee/back pain, and bones that break easily. Eat dairy products like milk and cheese which contain calcium. Also, leafy green veggies have lots of calcium. Supplements provide extra calcium too.

I fell while riding a bike on my elbow and ever since i have been facing pain while pronation and supranation of my wrists also when i apply preasure to the inner part of the bone in the elbow i feel immense pain
Male | 19
Pain when you twist your wrist or press the inside of your elbow may be a sign of medial epicondylitis, also known as golfer's elbow. This condition occurs when the tendon becomes swollen and irritated. To heal, you can rest your arm, apply an ice pack, and take over-the-counter medications. It's important to avoid actions that cause the pain, and if there is no improvement, it's better to visit an orthopedist for additional assessment and treatment.

I am 18 years old .I decreased my weight in 2 months upto 3 kg. I am suffering one side of knee pain in right leg. And there is a pain for one day from neck and spinal cord
Female | 18
The weight loss you specified as a prospective cause might be the reason you are experiencing knee pain on one side. On the other hand, weight changes could be a culprit. The infancy of sudden neck pain and spinal cord delineating the muscle sprain might be the cause. Following healthy weight suggestions and gentle stretching activities is important. Not doing so will put you at risk for other issues like diabetes and other ailments so I advise doing the things I suggested above first. If the pain doesn't go away, it's best to call an orthopedist to look at it.

These are some of the conditions that can cause muscle weakness and loss of movement in the wrist and hand. You should consult a neurologist or an orthopedist who is the specialist in nerve conditions to carry out the treatment. The longer the treatment is postponed the higher the risk of progressing to severe illness and disability.

My mother is 55 years old. A little obesity. She got her surgery for Haglund deformity causing Achilles tendonitis. After two weeks the suture was removed. Till that time she was on antibiotics and antimicrobial treatment alongwith calcium and pain killer. But now it's been 3-4 weeks post surgery . The post surgical site is black and I don't feel like it's healing. What to do?
Female | 55
It is recommended to go to the orthopedic surgeon who performed the operation and get the area examined. The black color could mean an infection or poor healing. It is necessary to have it diagnosed to take the treatment appropriately.

I have slight tendonitis in entire arm. I had an angiogram 10 days ago. After forearm and swelling subsided in a day or two, my tendinitis ramped up in pain. It's very uncomfortable. Especially in the bicep... is is from traveling
Male | 65
Your arm probably doesn't feel good after the angiogram. The tendinitis flared up from the procedure. It causes aching in the bicep area. Try applying ice packs and stretching gently. Also, give your arm a break. Consult the medical team if pain continues. They performed the angiogram, so they'll advise you properly.

Female | 60
Probably the effects of osteoporosis are coming out in you. Weak and brittle bones are the reason why it is easier to faint and die. In addition, it can lead to unevolved discomfort in some parts of your body. One of the causes of osteoporosis is aging, not getting enough calcium and vitamin D, or taking some medications. The main components include the introduction of calcium and vitamin D supplements, bone-preserving medicine, and participation in regular activities aimed at enhancing the moisture content of bones.

Hi, I got injured while playing football above the ankle but the damage interfered with the ankle thus resulting to severe pains how can I control it
Male | 20
I suggest you consult with an orthopedic specialist right away. This injured ankle may have damaged the joint, which led to a throbbing pain. During this time, you may relieve the pain by applying ice to the affected area; taking antinflammatory medicine and keeping your leg elevated. But these are only short-term fixes, which would require an official diagnosis and treatment from a specialist.
