Breathing difficulties can occur for various reasons. Some common signs include shortness of breath, wheezing, and a tight feeling in the chest. Causes can range from asthma and allergies to anxiety. If you're experiencing breathing difficulties, try sitting upright, breathing slowly, and staying calm. I am 17 year old female, I had a common cold that started with sore throat week ago and now I don't have a cold anymore, I didn't have cough during the cold (my throat was sore for the first 2 days but then on third day my nose started to be stuffy and I didn't have sore throat or cough at all). But like 2 days ago I started to feel not pain, but like weird sensation in area of bronchi, but its not pain, just like a sensation I feel when I breathe. Its not all the time but I noticed it. I don't have cough, or any other symptoms and my cold is like 90% gone at this point, but I don't know what that sensation might come from and I don't think its bronchitidis since I dont cough, I dont have fever, and I feel generally good, just sometimes when I breathe I feel that sensation in area of bronchi as I mentioned and it doesnt make me cough, just like sometimes to slightly make that cough sound but its not cough if you know what I mean. What could be the cause and how can I get rid of it? Also, I dont know if its going to help but I sleep on my left side every night and lately I think it caused me a bit of pain in shoulder/upper chest area from being in that position all night long. So perhaps could It be caused my some pulled muscle or something from sleeping in wrong position ? Thank you for your answer.
Female | 17
Your case seems like a typical cold getting better. The breathing issue near the bronchi may come from inflammation after the cold. Sleeping on the left side likely caused muscle discomfort in the shoulder and chest regions. Rest up, drink lots of fluids, and practice good posture to ease muscle pain. However, if bronchial sensation persists after a few days, see a pulmonologist just to be safe. Get well soon!

Male | 57
You have had a dry cough for the last twenty days and feel like you have mucus in your throat. It could be due to a respiratory infection or allergies. Drink plenty of fluids, use a humidifier, and try cough syrups or lozenges for over-the-counter medicines. If it persists, it is advisable to visit a pulmonologist for further examination.

Hi, I have put aquaphor in my nose for 2 years every night. I have recently stopped but wanted to know if I have it in my lungs i am really worried about it.
Female | 17
Aquaphor should not be your only treatment for nose dryness as it is not intended for long-term use. If you had it in your lungs, you could have a cough, shortness of breath, or pain in your chest. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is wise to visit a pulmonologist. They will be able to check your lungs and give you the correct treatment.

My daughter is 12 plus .she complains of breathlessness especially during night ,after which she sleeps nicely.she had a Ceasar on jan 10 this year for the first time and the reason is still not known after all check-up. She says she had an attack when she was trying to tell us she is not able to breathe well.Since that day she is worried and little anxious that same incident might not occur. This gave us an idea of meeting a pulmonologist who can help us.kindly suggest
Female | 12
It is best to have your daughter evaluated by a pulmonologist. The pulmonologist may recommend a variety of tests to assess her breathlessness, including a chest x-ray, spirometry, a complete blood count (CBC), and a complete metabolic panel. Depending on the results of the tests, the pulmonologist will recommend additional tests, such as an electrocardiogram (ECG) or a pulmonary function test (PFT). Additionally, the doctor can recommend taking medications to help manage her symptoms. It is important to monitor her closely for any changes in her breathing patterns.

My boyfriend (age 27) has had this all day every day hacking/throat clearing cough with mucus since January... I've been begging him since to get it checked. He waited 4 months until April & finally went. Well, the chest x-ray came back clear. But then why is he still coughing?? I'm exhausted of this, not knowing what it is, but hearing it all day every day, anxious beyond belief while he claims he's "fine" when it's not normal.
Male | 27
Even though his chest Xray came back clear, ruling out obvious lung abnormalities or infections. STill other causes like allergies, postnasal drip, GERD, asthma, or chronic bronchitis could still be responsible. Encourage him to follow up with a medical professional for further evaluation and testing to identify the underlying cause of his symptoms. Taking his cough seriously and seeking medical attention is important for appropriate treatment and relief.

महिला | 36
It looks like your sister has started to feel a little strange after having a bronchoscopy done which is a procedure used for checking the airways in the lungs. The prickling sensations, red hands, and other things might mean that the nerves are getting pinched or there is swelling somewhere. She needs to see a pulmonologist so they can find out what’s wrong with her. They might have some tests done or give her some medicine for it depending on how bad off she is.

Why is my cough somewhat black in colour...idid smoke in my past.
Male | 22
The tar and the other chemicals from smoking that are trapped in your lungs may cause you to have a black-colored cough. This means that the top layer of your lungs, which is trying to push out the harmful substances by coughing, is functioning properly. It's an indicator that the natural healing process of your body is working. To improve the condition of your lungs, it is critical to stop smoking and utilize water to clear out the tar that causes your cough.

Little amount of blood with phlegm
Male | 19
This type of incident can occur due to the inflammation in your airways caused by a cough or infection. The blood could be in the form of light streaks or spots. Generally speaking, it's nothing serious, but it's a good idea to visit a doctor anyway. Be sure to drink a lot of water, and take a break, and if it doesn't go away or gets worse, contact a pulmonologist for precaution.

I am a 26 year old man . every night cough gets accumulated in my nose and in morning when I get up and wash my face sneezing occurs about 4 to 5 times and nose gets cleared up .... cough is transparent and in liquid from....in day time no cough..... sometimes 10 to20 times sneezing occurs.... it seems that this is my daily routine.....what to do
Male | 26
You're dealing with allergic rhinitis, which means your body is sensitive to triggers like dust, pollen, or pet dander, causing sneezing and nasal congestion. At night, lying down can cause mucus buildup, leading to morning symptoms. Using air purifiers, keeping your living space clean, and avoiding triggers can help manage your symptoms.

I am a 15 year old male and have been feeling out of breath for the past 4-5 days on and off. Without any coughing but have also had hiccups and slight heart burn like pains
Male | 15
These might be signs of acid reflux, which occurs when stomach acid flows back into the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach. To alleviate these symptoms, try eating smaller meals, staying away from spicy foods, and not lying down immediately after eating. Drinking water might also help. However, if they persist, it would be best to consult with a doctor.

Hi I'm Sheila I am 32 yrs old...I have blocked nose and cough ,2days before it's dry cough.. yesterday I feel little bit cold and I take Himalaya(koflet syrup) and maxigesicPE (CAPLETS). WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
Female | 32
It seems you have the common cold. A stuffed nose, dry cough, and feeling chilly are the usual signs. These signs often come from viruses that spread easily. Good you took the koflet syrup and maxigesicPE pills. Rest up, drink lots of liquids, and try using a humidifier to help with your stuffed nose. If you feel worse or your symptoms stay, best to see a pulmonologist.
