I am a 39 yrs old man. I have been having persistent cough since September 2023 and followed by severe weight lose. I used to be 85kg but now my weight is 65kg. I am a smoker.
Male | 39
A persistent cough and unexpected weight loss are concerning symptoms. When these occur together, doctors investigate serious conditions like lung cancer or lung infections, especially with your smoking history. It's vital to get evaluated promptly by a pulmonologist. They'll conduct tests to determine the cause and provide appropriate treatment. Delaying care could worsen your condition.

Always follow your doctor's guidance regarding medical procedures.

I am 30 years old male and have cough and sore throat for 4 days. And also having head and chest pain during coughing. Taken himalaya koflet syrup, ginger tulsi tea but its not working. Please tell me what to do?
Male | 30
These are all signs of some breathing bug like cold or flu. Right now what will help most is to drink plenty of liquids, stay in bed as long as possible, and take something like Tylenol for the pain. If you don’t start feeling better soon or if things get worse instead, then go to a doctor to take a look at what’s going on with your body.

I just had oral sex with my partner he ejeculated in my mouth but never kissed me he had pulmonary tb
Male | 26
I understand your apprehension about tuberculosis transmission. Lung tuberculosis disperses via airborne particles, not through saliva exchange. The likelihood of tuberculosis transmission through oral intimacy is minimal. Common tuberculosis indicators: persistent coughing, unintended weight reduction, and persistent fatigue. Should you exhibit any of those manifestations, coupled with prior exposure history, consulting a pulmonologist is important.

My mother has sarcoidosis fibrotic ILD patient.last night her oxygen saturation 87 to 90. But physically she is normal .plz suggest what should i do.
Female | 66
The scarred and stiff lung tissue in sarcoidosis fibrotic ILD makes it hard for air to get in. If her oxygen level drops below normal, she does not have enough oxygen in her body. It can be really bad. Even if she seems fine, low oxygen can hurt her. Assure that her doctor’s instructions for using oxygen are strictly followed. In case there is no improvement, call for emergency medical services immediately.

I’m 18 years old my name is Paris Luna I have so much pain yesterday at 2am I had it so bad it didn’t go away every time I tried breathing it hurt so much I took ibuprofen it wasn’t working every time I eat in the next 5 minutes it starts hurting a lot and it doesn’t go away I have pain right now
Female | 18
If you're feeling chest pain that worsens when you eat, it might be related to your stomach or digestion, possibly heartburn. Eating smaller meals and avoiding spicy or greasy foods can help. Stay hydrated and avoid lying down right after eating. If the pain continues, it's best to see a pulmonologist for a check-up.

I am having fever and cough for about 30 hours, I am taking paracetamol, I am feeling relief for 4-5 hours, then I am waking up like this, and I am also coughing.
Male | 24
It could be a respiratory infection that is giving you a fever and cough. Such infections can be due to viruses and bacteria. Paracetamol can reduce your fever usefully, while coughing is your airways' way of trying to clean themselves. Encourage your body to be healthy by drinking lots of fluids and getting enough sleep. If the last couple of days haven't been the best for you and you feel even worse than before, then it is time to consult a pulmonologist.

Hello I’m a 19 year old male that’s been spitting up blood with no cough or chest pain or difficulty breathing. It’s not a large amount of blood and doesn’t happen 24/7 / I used to vape / smoke weed but have stopped when I noticed this was happening. It’s been happening for about the last week and a half and have noticed the blood slowly increasing any thoughts on what this could be ??
Male | 19
Blood sputum would be an alarming sign that should not be ignored. You used to vape and smoke weed and this is a vital point here. It can be that smoking is the cause of irritation in your lungs. This might lead to small bleeds in your throat. You have stopped smoking and that is a good thing. But for your safety, get a thorough physical examination by a pulmonologist as soon as possible.

I don't have a persistent cough or nasal congestion, but I'm experiencing catarrh in my chest that occasionally impedes my ability to speak. There are times when I need to clear my throat frequently, as the catarrh buildup in my chest restricts airflow or speech. Occasionally, I find myself needing to bring it out through my mouth by gently guiding it from the nasal passage
Female | 28
yo, ur symptoms, like, suggest the presence of mucus or phlegm in ur chest, which, may be contributing to throat and speech discomfort. it's, like, advisable to consult with a pulmonologist or ENT for a, like, comprehensive evaluation. they can assess ur respiratory and throat symptoms, maybe conduct imaging or pft, and determine the underlying cause. treatment options, you know, may include meds to reduce mucus production or, like, promote its clearance.

Falling asleep when coughing is hard. Coughs disrupt sleep by irritating airways. Cold, allergies, asthma – all potential culprits. Snoring and breathing problems at night
Male | 25
Air passage through your nose and throat gets obstructed when snoring. This could stem from allergies, excess weight, or nasal congestion. Nighttime breathing difficulties may arise from sleep apnea or asthma. Try sleeping sideways, keeping your room cool and airy, and avoiding heavy meals and alcohol before bedtime. If these don't help, consult a pulmonologist for proper evaluation and treatment.
