Can swollen cervix and recent period indicate pregnancy?
Am I pregnant because I had my period a week ago and my cervix is growing and swollen
Social Obstetrics And Gynecologist
Answered on 23rd July '24
Typically, experiencing menstruation seven days prior indicates non-pregnancy. Hormonal fluctuations or infections may occasionally alter cervical sensations. These factors potentially contribute to swelling. Should concerns persist, consulting a gynecologist ensures thorough evaluation.

I am 22 year old girl, with height 5'3 and weight 60kg. I had my 2 months delayed periods on 15th August which too lasted only for 2 days while normally they lasts for 6-7 days. I am gaining weight, my breasts and lower belly are increasing. This month too my periods have yet not arrived and since few 2-3 days I am getting white water problem.
Female | 22
You may be encountering some hormonal adjustments. Gaining weight, experiencing shifts in the menstrual cycle, and suffering from a whitish water issue could be because of hormonal imbalance, stress, and even a change of diet. Be sure to eat well, exercise, and practice stress management. Go to the gynecologist for a check-up. They are the right person to help you identify the exact cause and recommend the treatment that works for you.

My vagina labia will stick out the labia majora. This due to the intercost time very irritating why?
Female | 25
It sounds like you may be experiencing some irritation that is causing the labia to appear more prominent. This could be due to various factors such as inflammation, skin sensitivity, or hormonal changes. To alleviate discomfort, consider using a gentle, unscented soap and wearing breathable cotton underwear. Keeping the area dry and avoiding tight clothing can also help. If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult a gynecologist. They can provide personalized advice and treatment options to ensure your comfort and well-being.

i have a thick white discharge for the first time ,what is the reason for that. is that is the symtoms of preganency?
Female | 20
This is normal around ovulation time or before their period starts. Usually, it's not concerning. But, if it itches, burns, or smells bad, it might mean a yeast infection. Pregnancy can also change discharge. Still, that's not the sole sign. If worried, talk to your gynecologist so they can examine you properly and guide you.

i am a 20 year old female and i took a contraceptive pill two weeks ago and i have been bleeding after a week of taking the pill, and it hasn’t stopped
Female | 20
It seems that the birth control pill (or POP) could be the reason your bleeding has lasted longer than usual. When you first start taking the pill, your body may need some time to adjust, which can cause irregular bleeding. This can also be triggered by hormonal changes. The best approach is to consult with a gynecologist and discuss other birth control options that might suit you better.

I have had a missed period (late by 10 days) and it has happened after 30 days of intercourse not sex of course but then my partner had fingered me and there might be a chance there was precum on his fingers and I am uncertain whether it is pregnancy or missed period and I had no symptoms of pregnancy . Height and Weight - 5'4" and 73.5 kg
Female | 20
Sometimes a late period could be because of stress, gaining or losing a lot of weight very quickly, or things being off balance in your hormones. If you’re worried about being pregnant, you should take a test to find out for sure. Also, watch out for other signs like throwing up or feeling sick to your stomach all the time and/or your breasts hurting a lot more than usual at certain times throughout the day or night. If you don’t know what to do it’s always best to talk with a gynecologist.

1 am 24 years old lady, who is having breast discharge when ever my breast is touch or press ,and am also having vaginal dryness
Female | 24
Hormonal shifts may be the reason for breast discharge when squeezed as well as dryness in the vagina. If a person has too much prolactin hormone, they can have nipple fluid, while low levels of estrogen might cause a lack of moisture down there. It’s advisable to see a gynecologist for further investigation and appropriate treatment if these signs worry you.

Female | 20
Your girlfriend likely can't become pregnant in this instance. For pregnancy, sperm has to enter the vagina during fertile days. Since your girlfriend wasn't ovulating then, and sperm cannot pass through clothing, the chances seem very low. You changed clothes and wiped away semen too, decreasing the likelihood further. However, if she remains concerned, your girlfriend could take a pregnancy test to ease her worries.

hello respectful doctor.... I expierenced severe pain in one of my ovary during my ovalution day it last 24 hour and than a thick discharge come out. but sometime this pain unbearable. I got married 9 month ago but can't concieve. i want to know what should i do? Is this pain cause difficulty in my pragnancy journey. Or its normal?
Female | 25
It’s not uncommon to experience discomfort during ovulation, often referred to as mittelschmerz. This pain can result from the release of an egg and may vary in intensity. A thick discharge can also accompany this phase. If the pain is severe and persistent, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying issues, such as ovarian cysts or endometriosis. As for conception, while ovulation pain itself usually isn't a barrier, addressing any pain concerns is a wise step. Consider scheduling an appointment with a gynecologist for a thorough evaluation and personalized guidance.

I missed my periods this month
Female | 20
It is usually common. Stress affects your body. Weight changes and hormones cause issues, too. You may notice sore breasts, bloating, and moody feelings. Take care - eat the right foods, relax well, and get good rest. If still persists after efforts, see a gynecologist for further guidance.

Female | 25
See a gynecologist for an examination and diagnosis. Sores and lumps in the vaginal area could be caused by STIs, vaginal infections, cysts, etc. Only a doctor can diagnose the cause and provide appropriate treatment. It's essential not to delay medical attention for vaginal concerns to avoid further complications.

Iam having problem of prolapsed uterus
Female | 46
Your uterus has shifted lower into the vagina; this is called a prolapsed uterus. It makes you feel like something is pushing down there. You might have trouble peeing too. The muscles holding up your uterus got weak, causing it to drop. To treat it, you can do exercises to make those muscles stronger. Or, use a pessary - that's a device that goes in your vagina to prop the uterus up. For really bad cases, surgery fixes the prolapse. But see a gynecologist to decide the right treatment for you.

I had what can be classified as unprotected sex on 27th August (this is because I was experiencing diarrhea which reduced my regular combined pill efficiency and protection). Partner pulled out twice, we shower in between and clean. I took emergency contraception within 24 hours (brand: andalan postpil) and had one last diarrhea nearly 3 hours later (a bit less I think) after taking the pill. Would the emergency contraception be effective (I also have BMI of 30.5) or do I need to take another emergency pill?
Female | 22
Taking the emergency contraception pill is a very effective way of preventing pregnancy. Apart from that, you took the emergency pill which was the right move, and you experienced diarrhea, which can lower the effectiveness of the pill. Pay attention to any unusual symptoms and if you are worried, it is always better to consult a gynecologist.

My period date was 17 December but it has not come till now but t had not done any sex before
Female | 15
Time loads of firefight failures can pop up, which include stress, hormones, weight shifts, or diseases. Classic components of late periods are usually breast tenderness or temperament changes. I suggest keeping your overall health and lifestyle under control. One alternative available is a pregnancy test kit that one can buy at the store for their assurance. If after a few days pass, you cannot start menstruation or you have other symptoms besides, it is best to go to a gynecologist to get personal and professional advice and help.

I am 17 years old. I haven't got my period since a week, usually it arrives around and mostly on 28th of every month but it's been quite a time since I haven't got it. So what should I do?
Female | 17
Don't worry if your periods aren't all that regular at this age. Stress, gaining or losing a lot of weight, or hormonal shifts can throw things off. Try keeping tabs on how you feel each day until your next few cycles happen. In case they don't start within a month or two, it might be good to talk about it with a gynecologist.

I am 19 years femal, I haven't got my periods for. Last 2months..i am suspecting that this can me may be because of the use of topical tretinoin cream... My health is normal .. Does tretinoin and caused missed periods
Female | 19
The topical application of Tretinoin is not usually the cause for a missed period. It is more likely that other factors such as stress or hormonal changes are responsible for this. If you are worried, you can cease using the cream and monitor your periods. If the issue doesn't go away, it is advisable to see a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis.
