Answered on 23rd May '24
It is clear from what a friend of yours is going through that something's wrong with the blood passing through the digestive tract and coming out of the mouth. ideally, it must be an ulcer in the stomach, inflammation, or even some sort of unwanted microorganisms. Your friend needs to be checked by a gastroenterologist as soon as possible so that the exact cause can be figured out and the right medication be given to them.

blood while pooping, and the part was reddish...and painfull
Male | 24
It is important to be concerned upon seeing red blood in stool. Swollen blood vessels in the anus or lower rectum, called hemorrhoids, might be the main cause. Alternatively, anal fissures, inflammatory bowel disease, or an infection could also be responsible. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids, eat food high in fiber, and do not strain when passing stool. To get proper treatment, you must see a gastroenterologist who will carry out the necessary medical checks before giving medication.

I'm 27 year old male . I have sgpt count of 157 is it dangerous?
Male | 27
Normal Sgpt levels for adult males are typically below 40 units per liter (U/L). A result of 157 U/L is considered significantly elevated. Visit your doctor either a hepatologist or gastroenterologist for accurate diagnosis and guide you with appropriate advice based on your reports.

Is pain in left rib cage is serious UTI symptom?
Male | 16
This pain is likely not from a urinary tract infection. UTIs usually cause problems like peeing often, burning when you pee, and cloudy pee. Left rib pain can come from other causes like strained muscles or swelling. If the pain sticks around or gets worse, it's a good idea to see a doctor. They can find out what's causing the pain and give you the right treatment.

I’ve had constipation for six months and I have been using dulcolax every week to help, however this week when I used my dose, I felt nauseous and didn’t feel my normal budge in stool. I suspect I have impacted stool or some sort of blockage. I tried 2 enemas however after using them (lying on my left, inserting it for 5 minutes and staying still) it didn’t work. My main question is If I’m having impacted stool should I take miralax powder , dulcolax pills, or suppositaries, or a third enema Or book a colonic treatment? thank you
Male | 17
If you feel sick after taking Dulcolax you may need to try a different method. When stool is impacted it means that the poo has become stuck and will not come out very easily. Use Miralax powder which can help to soften it. You can mix it with a drink and take it according to the instructions on the packet. Make sure you also drink lots of water. If there is no change when using Miralax then you should speak to a healthcare professional for further advice.

On 11/4/2023 there was sudden onset of burning pain and heaviness in my lower abdomen/pelvic area. Soon after I developed a fever (that lasted about 8 hours) headache and nausea. The following day I began having diarrhea, however I had my gall bladder remover a couple years ago and my BMs are not very consistent. So this is day 4 and I still have pain diarrhea and nausea along with a loss of appetite(which is very unusual for me) I also thought I should shar that I had a total hysterectomy and oophorectomy in 2020 (Laparoscopic)

From your symptom, you may have a GI infection. One can consult a gastroenterologist or any general physician to receive proper diagnosis and treatment. For now, ensure that you stay hydrated and avoid the spicy food. In case the symptoms aggravate, see a doctor quickly.

I haven't been able to freshen up properly for a few days...and I have stomach pain on my left side.
Male | 33
Gas buildup or constipation could create this unpleasant feeling. Not expelling waste regularly causes issues too. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Fiber-rich foods aid waste removal from the body. Mild exercise like walking helps food move along smoothly. However, if pains persist despite self-care measures, it's wise to consult a gastroenterologist promptly.

I am 34 years old. I have stomach burnt and sometimes lower back burning & feet burning. And I am also coughing, I did X-ray, scan and ECG also hiv test. My hiv status is negative, all my x-Ray, ECG and scan results are perfect according to my health care.
Male | 34
Even though your HIV test, X-ray, ECG, and scan appear fine, it’s important to rule out more serious problems. Conditions such as acid reflux, nerve problems or lung issues could cause these symptoms. Lifestyle changes such as not eating spicy food; sitting up straighter than usual; drinking enough fluids every day etcetera might help relieve them. If they persist then please return for further evaluation from a gastroenterologist.

dysphagia eating with water
Male | Jawed
Swallowing water seems easy, but sometimes it’s not. Dysphagia makes it difficult. You may cough, choke, or feel like food gets stuck. There are different causes, like weak muscles or nerve issues. Sip slowly and sit up straight while eating. If swallowing remains difficult, see a gastroenterologist.

A tear may caused by the hardening of the fecal matter or the passing of hard feces. The stickiness of mucus and signs of bleeding might indicate inflammation in that area. It is advised that you should visit a gastroenterologist to have a gastroscopy done.

I am 19 years old I have a pain in my stomach from 4 to 5 days but I have taken in medicine no I am not well I think it is happening due to not a proper meal consultant nearby medical store them given medicine but it is not well from that medicine sometime I am feeling pain in my stomach so I am afraid of getting kidney stone can you suggest me some medicine thank you
Male | 19
Since you've had stomach pain for several days, it's important to think about the different things that could be causing it. This pain may be caused by conditions such as indigestion, gastritis, or a stomach infection. Kidney stones are not usually the cause of pain in the stomach but in the lower back. Now, try to drink lots of water, eat light and easily digestible foods, and consider taking over-the-counter antacids to help with the stomach pain. If the pain doesn't go away or it gets worse, it's important to see a gastroenterologist for further checking and the right treatment.

Was having mild stinging in my throat in january and was prescribed rabeloc for one month followed by esomeprazole for another month. After the completion of my dose my throat was fine and I stopped the medication. However I noticed in one week after stopping the medcines I had severe stabbing pains in my chest stomach breast. Could it be because I stopped the ppi or something else.
Female | 25
You were taking medication to alleviate throat discomfort, and now you're experiencing chest and abdominal pain. These pains might be a consequence of abruptly discontinuing the medicine. The medication likely reduced stomach acid levels. Upon cessation, your body may have produced more acid, resulting in the pain you're experiencing. It would be advisable to consult with a gastroenterologist to determine the appropriate course of action.

According to your symptoms of bloating, gas, diarrhea and stomach pain after consuming the leftovers you most likely have cases of food poison or intolerance. Generally, it is better to seek advice from a specialist and undergo testing in order to determine the root of your symptoms. In the meantime, follow simple diet

I've been diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and find it hard to manage my symptoms. What dietary modifications can help alleviate my discomfort?
Female | 37
IBS patients often experience a sour stomach, leading to symptoms like bloating, cramps, and changes in bowel habits. Certain foods can worsen these symptoms, such as dairy, spicy foods, caffeine, and artificial sweeteners. Eating small meals, drinking enough water, and avoiding trigger foods can help. Fiber-rich foods and probiotics may also be beneficial. Since everyone is different, keep a food diary to track what works best for you.

The symptoms include digestion issues, feeling too hot, eye swelling, and cold hands and feet. To get help, you should visit a gastroenterologist who can provide treatment to balance your thyroid hormones and improve your symptoms.

Iam 25 year old male .I had fever & fatigue in regular intervals .sleepy mode full time.i was facing an acid reflux. A pain on upper right side of chest
Male | 25
The fever, fatigue, acid reflux, and pain in the upper right side of your chest suggest you haven't been feeling well. Have you considered the possibility of having acid reflux disease? This occurs when stomach acid moves into the food pipe, causing discomfort. Avoid spicy foods, eat smaller meals, and avoid lying down right after eating. Also, drink plenty of water daily. If your symptoms persist despite these changes, I recommend seeing a gastroenterologist for further advice.

Why I have weightloss and irregular digestion?
Male | 25
You may have a viral fever accompanied by a skin rash, commonly known as viral exanthem. The leg pain, swelling, and difficulty walking could indicate inflammation in your joints, a condition called viral arthritis. These symptoms are often seen in viral infections like dengue or chikungunya. I recommend getting plenty of rest, staying hydrated, and taking over-the-counter pain relievers. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve over time, it's important to contact a gastroenterologist.

Ill-defined enhancing space occupying lesion approximately measuring 47 x 32 x 30 mm seen epicentered in the lumen of mid transverse colon. Mild fat stranding and subcentimetric lymph nodes are seen around the lesion. There is resultant dilatation of proximal large bowel loops and small bowel loops, measuring up to 6 cm in maximum calibre.
Female | 51
It seems like there is a worrying growth in your mid colon area. This growth is making the area swell up and push on your intestines. This can make them get bigger. It can also cause pain, bloating, and changes in how you poop. The best thing to do is to get more tests done. These tests will help figure out what is causing the growth. Then the right treatment can be decided.
