Why did I have periods twice after sex?
I am 28 years old, I got my periods twice in one month for the first time and this happened after having sex with my partner
Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 23rd Oct '24
Over the last 30 days have not been rare for some women to see their periods twice. It may be due to the fluctuation of the hormone levels after having sexual intercourse. Other possible causes may include stress, weight fluctuations, or even a hormonal imbalance. Monitoring your cycle and verifying if it reoccurs the next month is vital. If it continues, it is better to consult a gynecologist to exclude any possible causes.

During precum his penis touched his hand and he did fingering with same hand. Can i get pregnant?
Female | 20
No, that is not possible. Sperm needs to directly enter the vagina and travel up to the fallopian tubes to fertilize an egg.

My mother has problem of uncontrolled urine leakage. She has lost self confidence & feels depressed. No sugar, BP or any other disease. Can this be cured? How by medication or surgery. USG indicates reduced bladder capacity of 44 cc & small umbilical hernia. Pus cels are found in plenty in urine report. Kindly guide & advise. Thanks Prashant Kothari 7600035960

The treatment depends on the cause of the urine leakage. I advise you to visit a urologist in person first. Based on some evaluations, the cause of the problem can be known and accordingly the doctor may decide whether your mother needs surgery or medications.

I have protected sex. But also missed my periods. What should I do now?
Female | 21
Irregular periods create worry for those who had protected intercourse. Stress, imbalanced hormones, or specific medical conditions often cause missed cycles. Weight fluctuations, medications, and thyroid problems besides pregnancy may also stop menstruation. Monitor any symptoms accompanying irregular bleeding. If periods remain absent long-term, consulting a gynecologist allows evaluation determining the root cause. They can guide through diagnosis and recommend proper treatment options.

i am on my periods right now! My left breasts looks little bigger than right one! Theres no lump nothing kind of that, no redness as well! Why is that so? Is this normal?
Female | 19
It is not unusual to notice the size of your breast fluctuate due to hormonal cycle changes. Lumps or masses in the breasts may not always have to be the same size but in case of a sudden change, this should be reported to a gynecologist or a specialist in breast disease as a precaution against any underlying disorders.

I am a 18-year-old female me and my partner have been having unprotective sex for the past 2 to 3 days today I recently started having abdominal pain this afternoon or evening. I have been feeling nauseous as well. What do I do? I have taken several pregnancy tests and they all come back negative.
Female | 18
Abdominal pain and nausea are two of the most common symptoms that can have different causes. It is encouraging that you have undergone pregnancy tests, but it is also possible that the symptoms are due to another condition. It is important to investigate other explanations such as a stomach bug or food poisoning. Do not forget to keep hydrated, sleep, and eat light, bland food. If your symptoms continue or worsen, consult a gynecologist for a proper diagnosis.

Pregnancy happens when the sperm meets the egg. You can worry when your periods do not come, but other things like stress, changes in your body, or the pills you take can make your periods late. If you are still worried, you should take a pregnancy test to be sure. Talk to a gynecologist about other ways to not get pregnant in the future.

You may have a yeast infection, which can cause dizziness, blisters, and a foul odor in the intimate zone. This is typical for younger girls. Yeast infections can occur when there is an excess of yeast and a deficiency of the good bacteria in that region. You can try using antifungal creams that you can buy over the counter or ask your guardian to help you get one from the pharmacy. Prefer cotton underwear, steer clear of tight clothes, and ensure the area is clean and dry. If the symptoms don't disappear, it's better to consult a gynecologist for more treatment.

I had sex in March. Then there were signs of pregnancy. I cheked with hcg strip. It is negative. I get my period once every 6 months. I have about 3 weeks of my period. I bled in may. It was only 5 days. I started having menstrual cramps after that. At the same time, i had drops of pink blood for about two days. My lower stomach also started to hurt. My stomach is always getting bigger. I have no problem this month. In the second month, i did not feel much discomfort. If i work hard, my stomach hurts. Can i be pregnant? What should i do now?
Female | 21
A negative result implies most likely no pregnancy. Besides the irregular periods, other problems could also give rise to the symptoms you describe. Given your past irregular periods, it may be wise to see a gynecologist to be sure that there aren't any hormonal imbalances or other issues that might be causing the problem.

I got periods for 5 days but this time in the 5 days I don't have flow I was just spotting and a little flow and now it's more than 5 days I am still spotting same suggest me something for that
Female | 20
You might have some variations this month with your period. Spotting instead of a regular flow for more than 5 days can be bothersome. It may be due to hormonal changes, stress, or some medicines. I recommend the identification of other symptoms that you might have and drinking water to improve your hydration levels. If it continues or worsens, consult with a gynecologist.

After iui procedure, bleeding continuously 3 days.
Female | 29
Post IUI, you might experience minor spotting for a couple of days. But, be watchful if it persists beyond 3 days. Continual bleeding could indicate cervical irritation or implantation bleeding. Take it easy, and avoid strenuous activities. However, if the bleeding intensifies or you experience severe pain, promptly consult your gynecologist for advice.

I have sex on the last day of my period dat is on sixth of this month isn’t possible that am pregnant
Female | 29
On the last day of your period, sex does not guarantee the absence of pregnancy. Sperms are viable to survive for 5 days in the female reproductive tract. Therefore, you better use contraception if you do not wish to conceive. Please refer to a gynecologist, to discuss with him/her, the best birth control option for you.

Is this pregnancy report is positive? Beta Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Hormone < 5.00 mIU/ml
Female | 28
When the beta hCG level is under 5.00 mIU/ml, it means no pregnancy is detected. If you think pregnancy's possible, you can retest later.
