Such problems as shoulder pain and neck trouble can have different sources like muscle tension, wrong position, or degenerative changes which primarily occur in people over 50. Not being able to sleep and, consequently, not being able to work also contribute to the situation. Suggest she apply the heat or cold packs and do the stretching exercises very gently. Then, the correct posture is also a necessary requisite. Nevertheless, it has been a week, and I suggest that you consult an orthopedist for the examination and personalized treatment.

Hi There, I recently had a full blood count test and a kidney function test to check for any abnormalities, and the results were normal. However, lately, my hands have been feeling full and it’s difficult to open and close them, sometimes causing pain. They do swell slightly, particularly in the morning after I wake up. At night, I can feel blood flowing to my hands, and I experience the same sensation during the day at work.
Female | 32
This can happen if there is pressure on the nerves in your wrist. Repetitive hand movements or certain health conditions are the main culprits. You can do it by using a wrist splint, taking breaks, and doing hand exercises. Also, if the symptoms continue, you should consult an orthopedist for further evaluation.

Why do I have such bad knee pain? Everytime I hit my knee or even just rest something on my knee I get a shoot of pain in my knee that won't go away for at least a minute
Female | 20
The condition you describe might be patellar tendinitis. It happens when the tendon connecting your kneecap and shinbone gets inflamed. Overuse like repeatedly hitting your knee can cause this. Resting your knee, icing it, and doing gentle knee-strengthening exercises can help. However, if pain persists, see an orthopedist for evaluation.

Male | 74
Experiencing discomfort in your lower back when lifting weights can be common, often caused by muscle strain or improper technique. To alleviate this, consider gentle exercises like pelvic tilts, cat-cow stretches, and walking. Focus on maintaining proper posture and strengthening your core muscles, which provide essential support to your spine. It’s vital to listen to your body and avoid anything that exacerbates the pain. If discomfort persists or worsens, I recommend consulting a orthopedist for personalized guidance.

If my toe is purple does that mean it's broke
Female | 29
Sometimes a purple toe might indicate that it's broken. Other symptoms of a broken toe include pain, swelling, and failure of the toe to move. A few of the reasons your toe may be hurting is you dropped something heavy on it or hit it hard. To make it easier, rest your toe, apply ice, elevate it, and take pain medicine. If the pain is strong, you should contact an orthopedist.

Is a longer femur or longer tibia better for sprinting speed?
Male | 24
Having a longer femur is better for sprinting speed. The femur is your thigh bone. A longer femur helps power your sprints. However, a longer tibia below your knee strains leg muscles. A longer femur gives you an advantage for sprinting speed. Be sure to train safely and avoid overworking muscles though.

Hi, I'm taking 1.5ml of Testosterone Ethanate 300mg/ml once per week but I'm due to get a cortisone injection in my hand for trigger finger in 2 weeks time. Will this be ok to have whilst I'm taking this?
Male | 40
Testosterone Ethanate (T.E.) is a hormone, while cortisone is a medication used to reduce inflammation. Getting a cortisone injection for the trigger finger shouldn't be an issue while on T.E., as they work differently in the body. However, always inform your orthopedist about all medications you're taking. Trigger finger occurs due to tendon inflammation, causing fingers to get stuck in a bent position. A corticosteroid injection can reduce the inflammation and relieve symptoms.

I'm a 19 year old boy I have question regarding bone related. Wheather my growth plates are fused?
Male | 19
Did you know that growth plates are areas at the ends of bones in children and teenagers where growth occurs? But when we stop growing, these growth plates fuse. In boys, this usually happens between the ages of 17 to 19. If you're 19 and not sure if yours have fused, you won't be able to tell without a medical exam. If you're worried, you should probably consider speaking to an orthopedist.

Im a female 33 years old i suffer from scoliosis since birth and ive done 3 operation the last one was in 2004 which caused injury to my spinal cord. I can feel and walk with crutch and i can take one or two step without support, my right leg is more affected than my left. I read that only injuries less than one year or 2 is perfect for stem cells, my injury is 20 years old. Would it be possible for the stem cell therapy to work in my case ? Thank you
Female | 33
You are hoping stem cell therapy might help with your scoliosis. But stem cell therapy is still being studied and is not a normal treatment for back injuries yet. Since your injury happened a while ago, it may be less likely to work well. It is important to keep following your current treatment plan. You should talk to your orthopedist about any new therapies that might help you too.
