Yes. Of course he can go for knee replacement surgery. For this blood thinner has to be stopped 5 days before and should be replaced with some other medicine and after 5 days surgery can be done very successfully. This surgery is very safe and rewarding.

The situation with your father is complicated because he suffers from heart problems and has to undergo knee replacement. A consultation with a cardiologist and an orthopedic surgeon is very important to assess the risks and benefits of knee replacement based on his heart condition as well as age.

I am 17 years old female. A heavy metal object fell on my knee which caused bruising. I didn't have any pain after that but then in June my knee started to hurt for a few days. The pain was mild. Then in September the pain came back and it was worse. My knee had swelled up a bit, my knee was popping and it hurt continuously for 3 weeks. After that my knee pain calmed down a bit but it has been hurting mildly continuously since then.
Female | 17
Sounds to me like you've somehow injured your knee, which can trigger swelling in the knee, pain, and the popping of the joint. The first impact might cause an internal shift, due to which your symptoms might be explained. Advisably, you should stop addressing your knee; in such cases, the application of ice cubes will, no doubt, help diminish swelling, and finally, resting your leg a little higher might be helpful. Analgesia drugs, such as those bought without any prescription may also, be of some use, but much stress must be given to the examinations of an orthopedist. They can examine your knee in detail and advise on treatments that will help you improve.

torn ligaments a few times in r. knee. Knee is very stiff and will not straighten to walk properly.
Female | 77
You may have hurt some of the ligaments in your right knee. This could happen when you twist or injure your knee. Ligament tearing can lead to stiffness and difficulty in straightening your knee properly. Therefore, it is important to rest, apply ice to the knee to reduce swelling, and do gentle exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee. If the pain and stiffness worsen, it is better to see an orthopedist for a check-up.

Hello. My dad is 60 years of age and he is suffering from limb pain. His legs, hands, shoulders and his neck are hurting for a long time from now like 3 months. I have his blood test results and wanted to ask a doctor what should I do with him.
Male | 60
Your dad's experiencing pain is concerning. Continuous limb discomfort in multiple areas like legs, hands, shoulders, and neck could stem from conditions arthritis or nerve issues. The blood test findings can offer insights into potential underlying causes of the pain. However, consulting an orthopedist is crucial for interpreting the results accurately and recommending suitable treatment options, which may involve medication, physical therapy, or lifestyle modifications.

growth plates checking by x ray
Male | 19
Growth plates are special areas in children's bones. They allow the bones to grow longer. An X-ray can show if a child's growth plates are still open. This means the child is still growing taller. Some signs of problems with growth plates are pain, swelling, or one limb being longer than the other. Growth plate issues can happen after injuries. They can also be caused by certain medical conditions. Treatment depends on what is wrong. It may involve resting the area, doing physical therapy exercises, or sometimes surgery.

The backache you feel could be due to several reasons, such as muscle strain, poor posture, or stress. These symptoms often make daily tasks more difficult. Self-care exercises like stretching and strengthening can work magic in this case; thus they are often very helpful. how much does limb lenghtening surgery cost on femur? how much would it cost on both femur and fibula? can i have surgeries on both parts of leg at once?
Male | 18
The cost of lengthening surgery for the femur typically ranges from $20,000 to $100,000, depending on various factors such as the surgical technique used and the facility. When considering both the femur and fibula, expenses could be higher. Performing surgeries in these areas simultaneously is possible, which may save time and reduce recovery periods. It's essential to consult with an experienced orthopedic surgeon to discuss your specific needs, underlying conditions, and the best approach to achieving your goals safely. They will provide tailored recommendations and support throughout your journey.

Before having pins removed from your kneecap, consult your orthopedic surgeon to discuss the procedure and timing. Prepare according to their instructions. Is a longer femur or longer tibia better for sprinting speed?
Male | 24
Having a longer femur is better for sprinting speed. The femur is your thigh bone. A longer femur helps power your sprints. However, a longer tibia below your knee strains leg muscles. A longer femur gives you an advantage for sprinting speed. Be sure to train safely and avoid overworking muscles though.

Functional infection pain swelling thum and hand
Female | 40
Dealing with throbbing and swelling in your thumb and hand can come about due to numerous reasons such as over, injury, or even inflammatory disease. Symptoms like those are usually pain, difficulties in carrying out your daily tasks, and visible swelling. One way to relax painful symptoms may be to give time to the painful area, cool it with ice, and raise the hand above the head to diminish the swelling. Painkillers that are available over the counter can also be consulted. Nevertheless, if the indications continue to be present or get worse, it is vital to ask for an orthopedist's advice.

I rolled my ankle really bad 4 weeks ago almost 5. I still have inflamation and soreness, and pain. my briuises are gone but still hurts. and i have not been to a doctor.
Female | 14
You’ve sprained your ankle, and it may still be causing inflammation, soreness, and pain weeks after the injury. A sprain happens when the ligaments are stretched or torn, leading to pain and swelling. Rest your ankle, ice it, elevate it, and consider using a compression bandage. If it doesn’t improve, it’s best to see an orthopedist for advice.

Hi I'm a 16 yo male and I have poor posture, I used to think that I have minor kyphosis , forward neck , rounded shoulders with scapular winging for which I had consulted a orthopedic doctor he told me to do spine and chest xray, After looking at the xray he told me that my posture is not seen as a deformity and it will cause no problems THE FINDINGS IN MY XRAY REPORT ARE ~Xray report of lumbo sacral spine (ap+lat) • sacralization of lumbar vertebra noted • straightening of lumbar curvature noted • reduced disc space noted between lumbar vertebrae ~Xray report of cervical spine (ap+lat) •Mild straightening of cervical curvature noted •bilateral cervical ribs noted •impression - cervical spondylosis ..........but I think due to my posture I get injuries while heavy workout and few months before I got injured while doing wide arm push up. The injury resulted in pain in shoulders for 3 days and a lower soilder for days until I watched a video on YT how to stretch to fix it.......how ever it was gone and now Im left with uneven collar bones at the chest due to which the mobility is different in both hands. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
