Why Are My Throat and Joints Darkened?
My throat and various joints of my body are very dark for the last five to six years. My weight is above 80 kg. And I have high pressure

Answered on 29th July '24
Your skin might be affected by acanthosis nigricans which is identified by dark patches, even on the throat and joints. Being overweight and having high blood pressure are risk factors for this. The treatment is to lose weight and control the BP, as a result, the patches can be healed. Follow a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and be consistent with your prescribed medications to control your blood pressure.

My baby is 1.8yr old girl...she got fine hairs at her private part and underarms and little facial hair also...it's from birth....her dad also got much hairy skin..is it normal about her
Female | 1
It’s normal for your 1.8-year-old daughter to have fine hair in those areas. It could be because her dad is hairy – sometimes it runs in the family. These hairs are not a problem and do not require any treatment. As she gets older these hairs may become thicker, but that is fine too.

Sir mujhe fungal infection hai or raat ko itching bahutvhoti hai or dark patches hai mai 1.5 years se medicine kha Raha hu plz help me??
Male | 19
Sounds more like a case of chronic fungal infection, but itching and the patches are common symptoms. Better visit the dermatologist, who will be able to tell for sure what kind of treatment is proper for this case. They will recommend you a course of special antifungal creams and oral medicine

I am a female, I’m 15. I have patchy white thin skin spots around my genital area.
Female | 15
The white spots on your genital area may be Tinea Versicolor, which is caused by fungus. It is a kind of yeast living on our skin. The spots may appear to be lighter or darker than the surrounding skin and can be itchy. To clear it up, you should use anti-fungal creams or shampoos. Keep the area dry and clean and wear loose clothes too. If they don't go away, visit a dermatologist.

I am a 24 years boy and I have acne type skin issue first time
Male | 24
Don’t worry, lots of people get acne. Signs of acne include red spots, blackheads, and whiteheads on your face. Things that might cause it are hormones, greasy skin, and bacteria. You can try washing your face gently twice a day with a soapless cleanser, not touching zits, and using only oil-free products. If this bothers you then maybe talk to a dermatologist.

I am 28 yo female and recently got sclerotherapy done on both legs (last Wednesday so it has been over a week). My veins have gotten worse, they are purple and more visible and quite sensitive to the touch. There is no bruising. My dermatologist said I may have had an allergic reaction to the treatment and suggested I get antihistamines. Will the veins subside?
Female | 28
Veins do appear more visible naturally after sclerotherapy treatment, but they usually improve over time as the body reabsorbs the treated veins. Its best to discuss your concerns with your dermatologist and follow the recommended treatment. Avoid prolonged sitting or standing and to wear compression stockings as recommended to decrease swelling and heal faster.

Your child may have a skin condition called eczema, which affects only a limited number of children. Eczema can sometimes be accompanied by irritation, redness, and itching of the skin. It's quite common in infants. Changing the soap that is used could be a solution, but that is not always the case. Use a mild moisturizer that is not perfumed and avoid harsh soaps from your baby's routine. However, the problem continues, it is wiser to see a dermatologist for guidance.

I have a friend she suffering from alopecia she try so much medicines but nothing work now she want try Rosemary water... What you recommend her pls tell she is very depressed
Female | 30
Alopecia is a condition that leads to hair loss. It may be a cause of concern, resulting in a rise in the emotions of sadness. Some of the most common symptoms consist of patches of hair loss on the scalp. Different causes like hereditary and panic can lead to alopecia. Although some people have found Rosemary water to be a helpful home remedy, it should be noted that its effectiveness varies from person to person. Moreover, it's important to remind your friend to prioritize self-care practices, stress management, and seeking out a dermatologist for treatment plans tailored to her in addressing alopecia.

Balanitis causes redness and swelling of the foreskin. This could happen from irritation or poor hygiene. Keep the area neat and dry. Don't use harsh soap products. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. If discomfort persists or worsens, consult a dermatologist promptly. They'll properly assess and treat the condition.

I'm suffering from scalp folliculitis since 2 years . I have consumed various medication as advised earlier (Tablet doxycycline, tablet metronidazole, tablet clindamycin, tablet isotretinoin).these medications ka affective only till I take the medicine and then the pustules reappear. These are very painful and very itchy .
Female | 21
This is when the hair follicles on your head become infected leading to painful sores with pus which are also itchy. I can see that the drugs that you have used before don’t seem to work well for you in the long run. One should visit a dermatologist who might prescribe stronger medications or other treatments such as medicated shampoos or creams for clearing up these infections and preventing their recurrence.

I am 23 yrs old and I having redness on glans penis so i used clotrimoxazole as antifungal cream it work better but on using miconazole cream there is pimple like bumps occured and then onwards there is red sores on glans penis but the sores are not painful but it shows liquid like fluid on it now i am using fluconazole cream but it doesn’t work what medication should i used to get cured properly
Male | 23
You may have developed a yeast infection on your penis. The redness, pimple-like bumps, and fluid-filled sores are among the common symptoms. Antifungal medicines such as clotrimazole, miconazole, and fluconazole can be used for the treatment of this problem. Whereas, if the fluconazole cream is not effective, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist for further evaluation and possibly a different treatment approach.

Can i get hpv from touching doors, keyboards, cups, clothes or shaking hands ? Thank you so much.
Male | 32
HPV means human papillomavirus. You can’t get it from things like cups, clothes, doors, and keyboards. This virus is often spread through skin-to-skin contact. It can cause warts or even cancer in some cases. The best way to keep yourself safe from this virus is to get the HPV vaccine.

Cut self trimming pubic hair Hi Im 25 and was trying to trim my testicles with scissors and knicked a bit of skin and they were proper scissors. It bled a decent bit at first but I was in the shower so I was able to get a bit of toilet roll and hold it to stop the bleeding. It made me very dizzy to the point where I was struggling to stand I'm not sure if it was just because I was panicking or pain. But It stopped for a bit and I tried to stand and it started bleeding a tiny bit like a drop because I think it was a proper cut. I stood up again but I don't thinks it's bleeding any more and just looks like a knick. But is it something I should get checked out or should it be fine to let it heal. Sorry if this is the wrong thing to do I don't really know who to ask and phoning the doctors at my bit is really bad just now cause there so busy and if I'm just overreacting.
Male | 25
If the bleeding has stopped and the cut is small, it should heal on its own. Keep the area clean and apply an antiseptic. However, because you felt dizzy and it was a proper cut, it's a good idea to see a doctor, specifically a dermatologist or a urologist, to ensure there's no risk of infection or other complications.

Hello I have been having a skin infection of something that looks like ringworm. It starts like a pimple and later widens into different sizes. It started appearing on my thighs and is now appearing on every other part of my body except my face and scalp. There are moments when my skin is void of any but on other periods it appears almost every where with a lot on my fingers and palms. It's been on and off for more than 10 years now. I've consulted several dematologist with each having a different diagnosis and prescribing different creams to be applied on the affected spots but those have not helped me in any way. I truly do not know what else to do. Please help.
Female | 27
Ringworms often spread and return if not treated well. Fungal infections love warm, damp body areas. Antifungal creams don't always work for severe and stubborn infections. I suggest seeing an experienced dermatologist. They can evaluate your unique condition much better and recommend medications or other treatments suitable for this.

Male | 30
You might be dealing with allergies, which could be contributing to your constant sneezing. The whitening of hair can be related to various factors, including stress or genetics. I recommend visiting an allergist for sneezing and an endocrinologist or dermatologist for your hair concerns to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Female | 26
Allergies that occur are redness, itchiness, and material on the skin. By the way, doing an antihistamine is the best way to deal with the situation. Stop using the gel at once. Use a mild cleanser to wash your face gently. Use an odorless, non-irritating moisturizer to keep the skin moist. Contact a dermatologist if the skin problems continue or get worse.
