Why am I experiencing sharp pain under rib cage?

Sharp pain under rib cage

If you happen to feel a sudden acute pain just under your rib cage it might be quite a stressful condition. It may be because of various reasons. If you have wounded or knocked down that place, that might be the reason it hurts. Sometimes, gas in your stomach might be also the reason you experience this. Visit a doctor to find out the cause and proper treatment.

I am 19 years old … I see blood in my stool … started 2020 I took enterogermina 2020,then December 2021 took tinizol and doxycycline 2021 and I was given Clarthrime and Bonso pile tablet January 2024 but a doctor changed it and told me to take ciprotab instead but today I happened to see blood again I am constipated , I take milk a lot , and I always have bad cramps so I take ibuprofen every month but not more than 2 a month

Female | 19

I recommend seeking medical attention from a gastroenterologist to properly evaluate the cause of the bleeding and develop a treatment plan. Not recommended to self-treat without consulting a doctor, as this can lead to antibiotic resistance and may not address the issue. Additionally taking ibuprofen frequently for menstrual cramps can also lead to gastrointestinal problems.

I have painful defecations for months now, and want to know if any serious issue can be seen on a CT scan abdominal

Male | 48

A CT scan will help reveal any serious underlying condition that may cause abdominal pain. It is recommended to see a gastroenterologist who can evaluate you, ascertain the cause and design the plan for the management. Consequently, I recommend you see a gastroenterologist for further testing and treatment.

Female | 69

Your mother has a dangerous growth in her rectum. This is known as a malignant rectal polyp. Bleeding from the rectum may occur. Bowel habits could also change significantly. She may experience abdominal pain. The causes can be genetic factors or her diet. Treating it involves surgical removal of the polyp. Alternatively, radiation therapy kills cancerous cells. Consult her healthcare team to determine the best treatment path.

Dealing with not feeling all empty after going to the bathroom and tummy troubles, I get it. Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS for short, commonly brings these issues. It's a lasting condition needing ongoing care. Cutting out things that trigger it like dairy, spicy eats, and caffeinated drinks might provide relief. Staying active regularly also helps manage symptoms. Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids and de-stress, as these can worsen IBS.

I have an episode of watery diarrhea for 5 days Stool analysis showed only mucus, with no parasites and 0-1 WBC's. I have had my last colonoscopy in September 2023, and it was clear from any lesion, inflammatory bowel disease symptoms or any other clinically significant finding. In 2020 I also had another colonoscopy with some specimens to check for microscopic colitis but the specimens were negative. I need to know what is wrong with me and what is the reason for this diarrhea. Blood test showed no Anemia (apart from my Thalassemia minor) , liver enzymes are normal, lactate dehydrogenase normal, CRP and ESR are normal. I need help . .

Male | 44

A positive result from your last two colonoscopies, showing no inflammation or IBD, is reassuring. Mucus in your stool might be due to irritation. Diarrhea can result from various causes, including infection, certain foods, or stress. Since your test results aren't alarming, try drinking lots of fluids, sticking to a soft diet, and letting your gut rest. If the diarrhea persists, consult your doctor for medical advice.

Yesterday my mother felt sick she have symptoms such as vomiting and loose motions.

Female | 48

Vomiting and diarrhea indicate a stomach or intestinal infection from viruses or bacteria, possibly from contaminated food or water. Hydrate her well with water. Provide bland foods like toast, rice, and bananas. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.

I am a 21 year old. I am experiencing mild stomach cramping and need like pain. And sharp pain on my lower abdomen especially while urinating

Female | 21

It appears that a UTI might be the problem you’re having. UTIs sometimes lead to cramps in the stomach along with pain in the back or a sudden sharp pain in the lower abdomen when you urinate. These occur because bacteria have entered your urethra. You should drink plenty of water and take antibiotics. To avoid getting more UTIs, make sure to urinate after sex and keep good hygiene.
