Sharp pain under rib cage
Surgical Gastroenterologist
Answered on 19th June '24
If you happen to feel a sudden acute pain just under your rib cage it might be quite a stressful condition. It may be because of various reasons. If you have wounded or knocked down that place, that might be the reason it hurts. Sometimes, gas in your stomach might be also the reason you experience this. Visit a doctor to find out the cause and proper treatment.

I am 19 years old … I see blood in my stool … started 2020 I took enterogermina 2020,then December 2021 took tinizol and doxycycline 2021 and I was given Clarthrime and Bonso pile tablet January 2024 but a doctor changed it and told me to take ciprotab instead but today I happened to see blood again I am constipated , I take milk a lot , and I always have bad cramps so I take ibuprofen every month but not more than 2 a month
Female | 19
I recommend seeking medical attention from a gastroenterologist to properly evaluate the cause of the bleeding and develop a treatment plan. Not recommended to self-treat without consulting a doctor, as this can lead to antibiotic resistance and may not address the issue. Additionally taking ibuprofen frequently for menstrual cramps can also lead to gastrointestinal problems.

Male | 48
A CT scan will help reveal any serious underlying condition that may cause abdominal pain. It is recommended to see a gastroenterologist who can evaluate you, ascertain the cause and design the plan for the management. Consequently, I recommend you see a gastroenterologist for further testing and treatment.

I am a 16 year old boy I had some weakness and fever on August 29 so I decided to go doctor and I did all tests that were written after 2-3 days I had heaviness in my left abdomen but I didn't have lack of appetite and now yesterday I was thinking I had naval displacement although I didn't know that my naval was displaced but I tried it creating vaccum on stomach and pulling glass to make naval in center after that I am feeling so much gas , I don't like eating food and stomach snoring sound ( I m having pain near belly button left side on touching without touching it doesn't pain) having weakness and mild fever 99
Male | 16
You might be experiencing gas buildup in your belly, which can cause loud noises and a feeling of extra weight. The pain could also be related to issues with your belly button, and attempts to fix it might have made things worse. Gentle exercises and warm beverages can help move the gas out. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it’s best to consult a gastroenterologist for appropriate care.

The pain you are feeling in your abdomen could be the result of an ulcer, which is a sore in your stomach. The lightheadedness and balance issues could be connected to your Hepatitis B and fatty liver. These illnesses can give you a sick feeling and make you feel off-balance. make sure that you visit a gastroenterologist.

I have sharp pain in my lower left stomach
Female | 19
That sharp pain in the lower left side of your tummy could be diverticulitis. It happens when the pouches lining your colon become inflamed or infected. Symptoms include pain, bloating, fever, and bathroom troubles. To help, drink plenty of water, eat foods high in fiber, and avoid nuts and seeds. But if the pain is severe or doesn’t go away, see a gastroenterologist immediately, as this condition requires medical attention.

I m feeling stomach burning
Female | 39
Stomach troubles seem to be bothering you. A burning sensation indicates stomach acid straying where it shouldn't. Spicy foods or stress can cause this. Drinking water sometimes soothes the issue. Eating smaller meals and avoiding spicy foods may provide relief. However, if the burning persists or becomes painful, consulting a gastroenterologist is advisable.

Female | 69
Your mother has a dangerous growth in her rectum. This is known as a malignant rectal polyp. Bleeding from the rectum may occur. Bowel habits could also change significantly. She may experience abdominal pain. The causes can be genetic factors or her diet. Treating it involves surgical removal of the polyp. Alternatively, radiation therapy kills cancerous cells. Consult her healthcare team to determine the best treatment path.

Male | 29
Dealing with not feeling all empty after going to the bathroom and tummy troubles, I get it. Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS for short, commonly brings these issues. It's a lasting condition needing ongoing care. Cutting out things that trigger it like dairy, spicy eats, and caffeinated drinks might provide relief. Staying active regularly also helps manage symptoms. Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids and de-stress, as these can worsen IBS.

Stomach pain upper stomach light pain when sitting but when sleep more pin
Female | 18
You are suffering from stomach ache. Pain that is mostly up high and feels light when sitting but gets worse when you lie down can be due to acid reflux. This happens when the acid from your stomach goes back up into your food pipe. Do not put off spicy or fatty food items, eat smaller portions, and do not lie down immediately after finishing your meal. If the pain endures, the next step would be to consult a gastroenterologist.

I have an episode of watery diarrhea for 5 days Stool analysis showed only mucus, with no parasites and 0-1 WBC's. I have had my last colonoscopy in September 2023, and it was clear from any lesion, inflammatory bowel disease symptoms or any other clinically significant finding. In 2020 I also had another colonoscopy with some specimens to check for microscopic colitis but the specimens were negative. I need to know what is wrong with me and what is the reason for this diarrhea. Blood test showed no Anemia (apart from my Thalassemia minor) , liver enzymes are normal, lactate dehydrogenase normal, CRP and ESR are normal. I need help . .
Male | 44
A positive result from your last two colonoscopies, showing no inflammation or IBD, is reassuring. Mucus in your stool might be due to irritation. Diarrhea can result from various causes, including infection, certain foods, or stress. Since your test results aren't alarming, try drinking lots of fluids, sticking to a soft diet, and letting your gut rest. If the diarrhea persists, consult your doctor for medical advice.

AFTER EATING FOOD STOMACH PAIN
Male | 31
Eating too quickly or consuming large quantities of food can cause stomach aches. Spicy and fatty meals can also be problematic. To avoid discomfort, eat lighter meals slowly. If you experience pain, take a stroll or lie on your left side. If the pain persists, consult a gastroenterologist.

I am a 21 year old. I am experiencing mild stomach cramping and need like pain. And sharp pain on my lower abdomen especially while urinating
Female | 21
It appears that a UTI might be the problem you’re having. UTIs sometimes lead to cramps in the stomach along with pain in the back or a sudden sharp pain in the lower abdomen when you urinate. These occur because bacteria have entered your urethra. You should drink plenty of water and take antibiotics. To avoid getting more UTIs, make sure to urinate after sex and keep good hygiene.

Meri Nani hai jo bahut din khana na khane ke wajah se bahut serious ho gya hai . Abhi khana kha Raha hai to vahe vomiting kar deta hai
Female | 60
This may be as a result of several factors. A popular cause may be a stomach bug or food poisoning. These can upset the stomach and therefore make the person vomit. Give her water to drink little by little and if she feels better, she can try bland foods like toast and crackers which will help her stomach. If she still vomits, she might need to go to see a gastroenterologist quickly to check if everything is fine with her.

I am 18 years old lately I have been having some burnt in my stomach and making me feel I want to vomit and I had sex for the first time which I don't know if that's why I am feeling pains and I feel very tired and uncomfortable pls I want to know what's wrong with me and so many pimples on my face pls help me let me know and I have been visiting toilet frequently
Female | 18
It appears that you are possibly facing some tummy trouble perhaps somewhat associated with your very first sexual encounter but not as a direct result of it. The aching, vomiting, tiredness, and frequent bathroom visits might be due to a tummy bug or infection. The zit on your skin could likely be caused by hormonal variations. You must take a lot of water, get enough rest, and eat plain easy-to-digest items like bread or rice. If the situation does not change please visit a gastroenterologist.

Male | 22
Because you have blood in your stool, anal discomfort, itching, burning, and a low platelet count, you might have hemorrhoids or an anal fissure. These conditions can cause bright red blood, gas, changes in your stool, and issues with your platelet count. To feel better, try increasing your fiber intake, staying hydrated, and taking sitz baths. It's important to see a gastroenterologist for proper evaluation and treatment.

My mother of age 64 has problem in breathing while swallowing saliva ,eating spicy foods, etc and also sometimes for the smell of chillies while frying.what should we do as a first aid at that moment of time?
Female | 64
This could be because of a condition called dysphagia, which is the difficulty in passing food down the throat. She could opt for taking in smaller sizes and try her best to keep away from hot foods. Water is also another good option. In case the condition persists, she should visit a gastroenterologist for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
