Why do my legs turn pale on waking?
Legs pale on waking but colour restored after 5 minutes

Answered on 23rd Dec '24
Getting pale legs when you wake up is a sign of circulation in your legs. This change happens during sleep which can cause the blood vessel (temporarily) to narrow or decrease in the blood flow for a limited time. This is mainly the result of sleeping positions or a fall in blood pressure. When the body is moved, the blood flow to the veins gradually improves, and the color of the limb gets back to normal. Basically, this is not something that you need to worry about. Nevertheless, if you notice other signs such as a hurting leg, swelling, or frequently changing color it is a good idea to ask a dermatologist's advice.

Hello I have been having a skin infection of something that looks like ringworm. It starts like a pimple and later widens into different sizes. It started appearing on my thighs and is now appearing on every other part of my body except my face and scalp. There are moments when my skin is void of any but on other periods it appears almost every where with a lot on my fingers and palms. It's been on and off for more than 10 years now. I've consulted several dematologist with each having a different diagnosis and prescribing different creams to be applied on the affected spots but those have not helped me in any way. I truly do not know what else to do. Please help.
Female | 27
Ringworms often spread and return if not treated well. Fungal infections love warm, damp body areas. Antifungal creams don't always work for severe and stubborn infections. I suggest seeing an experienced dermatologist. They can evaluate your unique condition much better and recommend medications or other treatments suitable for this.

I applied a sunnies face lipstick accidentally ( without examining the lipstick before because i had used it yesterday and it looked fine ) today there was some yellow thin patch on the top part of the lipstick , I wiped it off with water , applied face was ( ponds ) on my lips and then brushed my teeth. Is it okay? should I be concerned? I am not feeling uncomfortable. what should i do with the lipstick? I applied it on my hand ( path was removed after i applied on my lips ) and the texture was fine , with no rash. should I wait and see if the mold regrows? Also i store my lipsticks in dry cool place and i have never mixed it with any other lipstick i just bought it a month ago and used only a few times.
Female | 17
You used a lipstick that may have had some mold on it. Makeup products mold due to age or contamination sometimes. The yellow spot you noticed could be mold. You do not feel any discomfort, so you are probably fine. Always remember to wash the lipstick before using it again. You should also check for any changes on your lips and see a doctor if you notice something unusual.

Psoriasis affects any part of the body and can be itchy, and painful. A dermatologist who specializes in the treatment of skin diseases should be consulted. Psoriasis can be managed well and the occurrence of flare-ups will also stabilize when diagnosed early, treated, or controlled.

pigmentation problem on my face
Female | 31
This is usually when you have dark or light patches on your skin. Some common factors are sunburn, hormonal changes, and genetics. Improving pigmentation can be achieved by sunscreen, limiting sun exposure, and using skincare products with ingredients like vitamin C or retinol to even out your skin tone.

I have a problem with my thumb finger, I doubt it is blood blister, once pinched, blood is coming continuously
Male | 49
Your thumb may be inflicted with a blood blister. Blood blisters occur when the blood vessels under the skin are traumatized. They can be painful, and the more you compress them, the more blood will come out. For it to heal, don't scrape it off and try to save it from getting injured more. If it is causing much discomfort, cover it up with a bandage.

I have Rashes on my under thighs it's been more then month have used rash cream but it's still itching and rashes are visible
Male | 54
You're having rashes under your thighs that won't disappear. The itchiness and rashes could result from skin irritation or fungal infection. Using rash cream didn't help, so you might require prescription cream from a dermatologist. Keep that area clean and dry; wear loose clothes. Don't scratch to avoid more irritation.

Male | 18
It seems you have several health issues. All these might be connected with different things. The reason for the bad smell on the skin may be due to sweat or bacteria. Dry skin or a fungus can cause dandruff. Cavity comes from eating sugary food. Back pain could come from bad posture; stomach trouble could be caused by what you eat or stress. Also having an appendix problem may make it hurt when you use the toilet.

my head is becoming long ,what should i do
Male | 16
Feeling that your head appears elongated can arise from various factors, including posture issues or changes in the soft tissue. You might also notice that headaches or discomfort accompany this sensation. To help, ensure you're maintaining good posture, stretching regularly, and observing any other symptoms that may arise. Staying well-hydrated and managing stress can also be beneficial. If concerns persist or worsen, I encourage you to consult a dermatologist for a thorough evaluation. They can provide tailored advice and reassurance specific to your situation.

Hi doctor, I'm experiencing severe itching and redness and would like to know the cause and medications of any. Please let me know thanks.
Male | 25
You are going through itching and redness, which could be different things. Skin irritants, allergies, insect bites, or eczema are a few of the common causes. To relieve yourself, use mild moisturizers, cold compresses, and over-the-counter antihistamines. If you continue scratching it may cause further irritation, so don't do that. If these signs do not go away or get worse then make a point of visiting a dermatologist.

Female | 22
Ringworm is a skin disease that is caused by a fungus. In this way, the skin can turn red, be itchy, and feel suffering as a result of its injury. You can use the antifungal creams sold at the pharmacy to treat the ringworm. Make sure to clean and dry the area. Personal items like towels should not be shared. If it doesn't get better, you should consider getting help from a dermatologist.

Itching problems now 7 days
Female | 19
Irregularities like dry skin, allergies, bug bites, and some skin conditions can cause itching. If you haven't changed any products or detergents recently, try applying a moisturizing lotion, taking oatmeal baths, or using a cold compress to ease the itching. However, if the problem persists, consider visiting a dermatologist.

Male | 21
Most individuals aged 21 and above tolerate Omega-3 supplements well. These capsules support cardiovascular and cognitive health. However, some minor side effects may occur, like an unpleasant taste or stomach discomfort. Consuming them with food could alleviate these issues. Adhering to the manufacturer's recommended dosage is crucial. If severe adverse reactions arise, discontinue usage and consult a dermatologist immediately.

i have a vag boil and it is really painful it hurts when i walk and juhst laying diwn or even touch it it is very big and had gotten bugger than when it first started i want to know how to get rid of him the pain is shapr a little throbbing and
Female | 17
Boils are caused by infected hair follicles and can be painful and swollen. To help them heal, apply warm compresses to the area at least three times a day. This can reduce pain and help the boil drain naturally. Keep the area clean and avoid squeezing or picking at the boil, as this can worsen the infection. If the boil does not get better or gets bigger, it is a good idea to consult a dermatologist for a check-up and treatment.

Got Red mark on skin since few days
Male | 40
You've noticed a red mark that's been there for a while. It could be from irritation, an allergen, or a bug bite. If it's not too bothersome, try using a moisturizer or an over-the-counter cream to soothe it. Keep an eye on it, and see a dermatologist if it worsens or spreads.

Liquid leaking from red ears often signals infection. This ailment frequently arises after swimming or incomplete ear drying. Accompanying symptoms comprise auditory issues and aching sensations. However, if discomfort persists, visit an ENT specialist.

I have pigmentation and black spots in most parts of my body and I want to remove those spots and become a shade lighter •What would be effective treatment for my concern • how long it will take to see results • What would be the approximate overall and each session cost As I am highly interested in one of treatment that can cure me
Female | 21
Sun damage, hormonal changes, or any other skin condition may be the main causes of pigmentation and dark spots. For successful treatment, there are a number of options including topical creams, chemical peels, and laser therapy. These processes can be of great value to the skin lightening and pigmentation decreasing purposes. Usually, visible changes might appear in only a few weeks to months, depending on the operational technique. Results along with the cost should be expected for about $150-$400 per session. For achieving the most effective results in your case and to make the treatment a more individual-based one, I am advising visiting a dermatologist. They can give you a diagnosis and advice, so you can select the most suitable and the safest solution for your skin.

My toe nails are changing to a yellow color..also I have skin peeling between my toes and it hurts very much.. can you prescribe me anything for it..I'm guessing it's athletes feet and toe nails fungus
Female | 40
Your symptoms sound like athlete’s foot and toenail fungus. An athlete’s foot can cause your nails to turn yellow, make the skin on your feet peel off, and make your toes hurt. The fungus that leads to athlete’s foot loves warm, damp areas – like sweaty feet. You can use over-the-counter antifungal creams on your skin and nails to treat it. Also, try to keep your feet clean and dry so they are less appealing to the fungus.

My jockitch has been a month though I used over the counter antifungal but it doest seem effective. Any prescription?
Male | 25
You likely have a persistent jock itch case. This condition results from fungus thriving in warm, damp regions like the groin area. Over-the-counter antifungal creams often help, yet some cases prove resistant. To effectively eliminate the fungus, I suggest consulting a dermatologist for prescription-strength antifungal medication.
