Could Weight Loss and Digestive Issues Be Related?

Why I have weightloss and irregular digestion?

Answered on 3rd Sept '24

You may have a viral fever accompanied by a skin rash, commonly known as viral exanthem. The leg pain, swelling, and difficulty walking could indicate inflammation in your joints, a condition called viral arthritis. These symptoms are often seen in viral infections like dengue or chikungunya. I recommend getting plenty of rest, staying hydrated, and taking over-the-counter pain relievers. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve over time, it's important to contact a gastroenterologist.

I have been prescribed zerodol for back pain for 5 days. But I also have gastric after 5 days I am having acid reflux. What should I do

Female | 26

Zerodol may have relieved the pain, but it left you with an unpleasant twist in your stomach—acid reflux, also known as heartburn. This condition occurs when stomach acid flows back into your esophagus, causing a burning sensation in your chest or throat. To manage it, try eating smaller meals, avoid spicy foods, and stay upright for a while after eating.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to discuss my ongoing gastrointestinal issues that have persisted despite my recent surgery for chronic constipation and rectal prolapse. I underwent a laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy, but I am still experiencing significant problems related to anal hypotension and hypocontractility, as well as prolonged Balloon Expulsion Test (BET) results indicative of Type 1 Dyssynergia. Despite the surgical intervention, I continue to struggle with inadequate anal sphincter tone and a reduced ability to contract effectively. These issues have led to ongoing difficulties with bowel control and frequent episodes of constipation. The prolonged BET results suggest that my pelvic floor muscles are still not coordinating properly during bowel movements. Given my history and the current symptoms, I would greatly appreciate your expertise in identifying the next steps for management. Specifically, I am interested in exploring options such as pelvic floor rehabilitation, biofeedback therapy, or any further diagnostic evaluations that may be necessary to address these issues effectively. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your guidance on how we can best proceed to improve my condition.

Male | 60

These issues might be due to problems with the pelvic floor muscles not functioning properly during bowel movements. Pelvic floor rehabilitation could help by improving muscle coordination and strength in the pelvic area, potentially aiding in better bowel control. Another option is biofeedback therapy, which uses sensors to teach you how to coordinate your muscles during bowel movements. Discuss these options with your medical team to find the best approach for you. Additional diagnostic tests might be needed to understand the situation better.

I was diagnosed with typhoid after which the doctor gave me medicine for 10 days. After 10 days they gave me medicine again which also included Tramin plus. I would like to know why given Dromadin Plus because it is a strong pain reliever. Now there is no pain in my body.

Male | 37

Typhoid is due to a bacillus and can result in fever, body aches, and stomach problems. The medicine that your doctor prescribed acted to eliminate the bacteria that were responsible for the infection. The Tramin Plus contained in your medication is responsible for the relief of any pain or discomfort you may have been experiencing. To ensure that the infection has been completely treated, it is crucial to take your medication exactly as directed.

High blood presure and cough.. Acidity

Female | 70

High blood pressure combined with a cough that tastes acidic could signify acid reflux. The stomach acid travels upward, entering the food pipe, resulting in a burning sensation. Acid reflux can trigger coughing and exacerbate high blood pressure. To alleviate symptoms, avoid spicy and fatty foods. Consume smaller meals. Refrain from eating too close to bedtime. If necessary, your doctor may prescribe medication to reduce acidity.

I have a fatty liver. Level 2 sgpt. I want treatment

Male | 37

I would urge you to consult with a gastroenterologist and liver specialist to receive treatment for your fatty liver. A level 2 SGPT shows that your liver is damaged to a moderate extent and needs prompt medical intervention. Besides medical care, you need to make some lifestyle changes, such as consuming less alcohol, losing weight, and sticking to a balanced diet.
