Should I Continue Azikem Instead of Accutane?
I have acne issue i was on medication azikem i took one month dose now mu dermatologist has suggested me to take accutane for 4 months, i dont want to take accutance what should i do can i have azikem for a month again because that safe than taking accutane for months
Dr. Archit Aggarwal

Answered on 12th Sept '24
It's hard to get rid of acne, but Accutane can treat the serious cases. Azikem and Accutane have different mechanisms of action. Azikem targets the bacteria causing acne, while Accutane works by decreasing oil production. If your dermatologist recommends you take Accutane, they believe it is the best course of action for you. Their qualifications and experience should be your guiding principles in this matter if you want to have the best results.

Pimple scars can seem annoying, but there are ways to treat them. These scars form when your skin heals after popping a pimple. The scars look like dark spots or uneven texture. To help fade scars, try products containing retinol or vitamin C. Always use sunscreen too since sun exposure can worsen scars. It takes time, but be patient and caring towards your skin.

How Do I Treat Sharp Pain After Cold Sore?
I am a 20 year old female that had a cold sore on my lip a few months ago. The actual scab is gone, but there is still a sharp pain in that spot when I touched it. Is it still contagious and how can I stop it? I’ve been putting Abreva and Carmex on the spot that hurts but nothing seems to help. Thank you
Dr. Ishmeet Kaur

Answered on 12th Sept '24
The nerve near your previous sore could be causing your current pain. Cold sores are contagious until fully healed, but once the scab is gone, the risk is usually over. You can apply a cold compress or take over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Avoid touching or picking at the sore to prevent irritation. If the pain persists or worsens, it's best to consult a dermatologist.

Dr. Deepak Jakhar

Answered on 12th Sept '24
You have warts and may have been there for a long time. The warts are caused by a virus that gets into the skin through a cut or opening. It's common to get tired of treatments if they haven't worked. Sometimes, indeed, warts can be hard to deal with. You might consider trying different treatments such as the ones available over-the-counter or you can visit a dermatologist to find out the other alternatives.

Bumps and open sores can be caused by various conditions, from skin infections and cysts to breast cancer. I'm glad you have a doctor's appointment this week. In the meantime, keep the area clean and dry, avoid squeezing or picking at it, and wear loose-fitting clothes. Early detection and treatment save lives, so don’t miss your appointment.

Can I treat acne with face cream?
I'm 17 years old and having acne and pimple on face. I want to get rid of it. I need any cream for this case
Dr. Archit Aggarwal

Answered on 12th Sept '24
Dealing with pimples and acne can be frustrating, but it's normal for your age. These skin issues happen when hair follicles get clogged with sebum and dead skin cells, leading to red bumps, whiteheads, or blackheads. Try using an over-the-counter acne cream with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to help clear them up. Wash your face regularly and avoid scrubbing too hard. Also, avoid touching your face, as it can make things worse. Eating a nutritious diet and drinking plenty of water will help keep your skin healthy.

Dr. Ishmeet Kaur

Vitiligo makes your skin lose color in patches. Cells that produce pigment stop functioning, leading to white spots. Treatment choices are phototherapy and medicines. Phototherapy uses light to restore pigmentation. Oral medications help regain skin color. A dermatologist can recommend treatment after assessing your condition. Phototherapy and medication are effective options. Discuss with your doctor to choose the right approach.

Your ear issue might involve pimples causing pain. This could signify otitis externa, an ear canal infection. It happens when water gets trapped, or you use objects for cleaning your ears, or due to skin issues. To ease discomfort and prevent more pimples, keep ears dry, avoid inserting things inside, and consider antibiotic ear drops from a doctor. If troubles persist, promptly consult a dermatologist.
